Dr. Cohen has treated me with Botox, fillers and lasers for the past 10 years. He is an attentive listener and attempts to achieve the outcome the patient is seeking. As a clinical researcher at the forefront of cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Cohen is familiar with the newest treatment modalities. He is an expert at achieving a natural look and I wouldn't consider using anyone else. I highly recommend him!

I have used About Skin for Mohs surgery (Dr Cohen) and all my other medical derm needs (Dr Ho). On each and every occasion I have found them to be very professional, totally competent and easy to work with. The admin staff have been great and special mention to Tammy who with her professionalism and sense of humor actually made an unpleasant PDT treatment OK. While I have never done the cosmetic end, About Skin is top notch in all other regards.

I saw Dr. Walter twice when he was with Aboutskin Dermatology for a couple skin conditions. For one of my conditions he issued me a medicine which he did not monitor or consider the side effects of. For my other condition, he gave me no answer for what it was the first time, and the second time, he referred me to an allergist. The allergist told me it was not an allergy and referred me back to a dermatologist.

It took me weeks of calling Aboutskin and them telling me they would call and get back to me with an answer about my condition, a month went by, and by then Dr. Walter had left Aboutskin Dermatology. They then said they couldn't help me unless I went in and paid to see a new dermatologist. I said no, and they then referred me to Dr. Walter's new office with Hill Center Dermatology, and Hill Center informed me that he would not be starting with them for another month, so I had to wait to contact him.

After a month I called and explained my situation again to Hill Center, and they tried to make me set up another appointment to speak with Dr. Walter for this issue that should've been addressed the first two times I saw him. I told them I'd rather speak with him over the phone about what was going on because I had already seen him for this issue twice.

They told me he would give me a call, and he never called me. I gave them two stars because they did help me find a good facial and skin moisturizer and gave me some good tips, but be careful because some of these dermatologists care more about the money than helping you.

The service at About Skin dermatology on South Quebec is horrendous. No one calls you back when they say they will. I had disappointing results following a laser treatment. I asked to speak with one of the owners just to show him the results. He did not do the procedure himself but I thought it important that he see how poor the results were. After numerous calls and left messages that weren't returned I threatened to move my business.

It was then that I finally got an appointment. Another treatment was recommended which I will say I didn't have to pay for. I was told to come back after the last treatment for pictures which would then be shown to Dr. Cohen, one of the owners. I have called numerous times to get an appointment and again my calls weren't returned. I finally spoke with Megan, the office manager who said she'd call me back in a couple of days after she talked with Dr. Cohen about what the next steps would be.

I still haven't heard back from her. I have been left with two hyperpigmentation spots on my face as the result of the laser treatment. It's obvious by the lack of response from anyone at this practice they don't care. FYI the doctor who performed the laser treatment is no longer there. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I have been a patient for 10 years and want to express my appreciation to Dr. Joel Cohen and the staff @ About Skin Dermatology. They always take time to listen to all questions and provide answers. Having a history of melanoma in my family I feel fortunate to have found an excellent and thorough doctor like Joel Cohen.

I really liked the provider (Dr. Rothstein) but could have done without the soft sell to buy their sunscreen. Really? These clinics and providers make enough money as it is without having to peddle sunscreen that one can buy only at their location. There's not much difference among different sunscreens, no matter what anyone might say. Certainly, nothing that would warrant the additional cost of an AboutSkin version.

It's demeaning, actually, that an MD would engage in this ridiculousness. Also, such a talented, well-compensated group of dermatologists should not be promoting "yearly skin checks" for all their patients. This is yet another non-evidence-based way of increasing revenue. This is purely profit-motivated and, unless based on genuine risk-stratification, has negligible clinical value. Shouldn't dermatology preserve at least a modicum of ethics in this regard?

Dr. Cohen and his staff are top notch. He is straightforward about expectations and listens and addresses all of my concerns. The team at AboutSkin has been flexible with scheduling. Thanks for making my visits pain free.

As a physician, before establishing with a provider for my personal and my family's medical care, I will carefully find out about the physician from colleagues and various other sources. My goal for personal medical care is to choose from the best provider available in that field based on ability, skills and treatment outcomes. Subsequently, I started as a surgical dermatology patient with Dr. Joel Cohen based on these criteria and have continued the relationship for many years. Dr. Cohen has consistently demonstrated a high degree of expertise and professionalism as both a dermatologist and surgeon.

As the clinic has grown and expanded, he has recruited physicians and mid-level providers of like-mindedness and added multiple treatment modalities to offer a variety of evidence-based alternative options for patients. Dr. Cohen has continued to provide thorough examination, accurate diagnosis and successful specific treatment while maintaining his devotion to excellent updated medical practice and having a passion to obtain the best result for each patient.

Dr. Cohen is 'a derm's derm' -- his published research and opinions are sought after by other dermatologists obsessed with the latest innovations in cosmetic dermatology, including lasers, neuromodulators, and fillers. He's also trained many of these derms. Dr. Cohen is arguably one of the best in the U.S., though he's not flashy or self promoting -- just intensely focused on achieving elegant, successful results. I stumbled into his practice quite by accident, and could not be happier. His PA Christine is also phenomenal.

AboutSkin and Dr. Cohen are simply the best in the industry. I have been seeing a dermatologist for the past 20+ years. For the past six years, I have been seeing Dr. Cohen at AboutSkin and it has been life changing. To say I trust him completely may be an understatement. He has an incredible ability to determine what procedure I need and I never have to worry about him doing too much. Having Dr. Cohen to help me navigate my dermatological needs as I age gives me total peace of mind.

Everyone in the office is incredible. I have been seen for both medical and cosmetic dermatology and they are by far the best I have ever seen. Dr. Ho and Dr Fettig treat our entire family for any and all skin issues with suck care and knowledge. Dr. Cohen (and maintenance with Talitha). has changed my skin and it literally glows. This office really cares for its patients!

I have been a patient of About Skin Dermatology for about 20 years. The staff is wonderful to work with. I never had problems with appointments or billing issues. My main Dr. is Joel Cohen, but when he isn't available the other doctors in his office are great too. Even the assistants are friendly but very professional. I highly recommend About Skin Dermatology and everyone on their team.

I have been seeing Dr. Contreras for several years and I always have a great experience each visit. Skin issues are not the most fun, but he is always so calm, thorough, and knowledgeable each visit. All of the other staff members from the front desk, medical assistants, and at checkout are pleasant and professional as well. This is a well run practice.

It has been about 3 years since my nuRadiance Laser skin treatment. Dr Cohen was absolutely fantastic. I still get many compliments on my skin and how beautiful and young it looks. I am planning to re do the area around my mouth, and between my eyes again at some point to get completely rid of lines. They are not even noticeable on my upper lip anymore, and one more office treatment should reduce the minor lines below my lip to barely visible.

I have been a patient of Dr Joel Cohen @ About Skin Dermatology for over 5 years and I have had three MOH's surgeries. All successful on first procedure, and the care and professionalism has been outstanding. Dr Cohen is a very caring and GREAT surgeon and his staff and especially all his nurses are wonderful and caring. I will be going back for another surgery in a month with no trepidation at all.
