Dr. Michael Todd was born in Tucson, AZ and raised in Southern California. He attended medical school at the University of California San Francisco Medical Campus where he completed a year of Family Practice Residency.
The Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass is generally considered to be the best surgical procedure for the treatment of morbid obesity. Weight loss is achieved by reducing the functional portion of the stomach to a pouch one ounce or less in size, and by creating a stoma, a small opening between the stomach and the intestine.
BMI 35 and at least one or more obesity-related co-morbidities such as type II diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, and other respiratory disorders, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, osteoarthritis, lipid abnormalities, gastrointestinal disorders, or heart disease. Inability to achieve a healthy weight loss sustained for a period of time with prior weight loss efforts.
We require a referral from your Primary Care Provider (PCP). This helps us coordinate your care better, as it allows your PCP to know what you are planning and allows the providers to directly interact regarding your care. In addition, your PCP is an essential member of your surgery team. You'll be working with your PCP before your surgery to show your attempts at medically monitored weight loss (insurance requirement). In addition, after your surgery, your PCP will be able to assist you with identifying any problems and developing solutions.

I was a patient of Dr Todd's in 2008. Upon the requirements being met for surgery a date was set. My highest recorded weight was 296 lbs. my height was 5'8". Weight at surgery was I believe at 278lbs. The date that changed my life forever was December 8, 2008, the day of surgery. The weight loss goal I had set for myself was to loose down to 150 lbs.

I admit the first 4 months was quite the experience; however I'm still glad to have made that life changing decision. Lost a lot of weight during the first year. Dr Todd gave strict life changing habits. No sugars, portion control.it goes on. Well over time a little cheating goes on. It just happens. NOT GOOD! I spent years rocking between 172-185 lbs.

Never could shed the weight. I was cheating myself. Many folks end up gaining all/more of what they lost. Not a good option. Don't let that rocking chair get too comfortable and in the way of progress. Recognize it as a stumbling block and get back "on tract". Easier said than done, I know. Ya just gotta want it. Anyway to make a looong story short, 13 years later I have finally met my goal.

This afternoon, August 2, 2021, the scale topped at 149.5 y'all! (Yes I'm from the south)! FINALLY HAVE MET THAT LONG TERM GOAL! 13 YRS Y'ALL! Don't give in to temptation and don't give up. Wish I could hug Dr Todd's neck. Maybe I will someday. Would love to speak at one of his before surgery sessions he has his patients attend. THANKING him and his staff.

Dr. Todd and his staff truly helped change my life. I went from barely being able to walk across my living room to now being able to go jogging. They will help you every step of the way in getting your health back on track and they host support groups three times a week. Whoever gave them negative reviews don't speak for the vast number of people I've seen firsthand have their lives changes for the better.

Dr Todd seems like a really nice guy when you first meet him. However he is probably one of the biggest pieces of garbage I have ever met. You've been warned. The only thing he will do is over charge you for a surgery then refuse to set up payments and send you to collections. But like I said he plays the nice guy role very well he even said a prayer for me before the surgery.

It's all a facade he is only after your money. Tell me if a man sits there and plays like he is a God fearing man and that he cares then refuses to help when your in a financially tight position that's not very Christ like seems more like he was born straight of the devil. Again like I said Dr Todd is a low life piece of garbage just looking to screw you out of your money.
