Services
An intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is a treatment option that helps clients in early recovery transition from full-time addiction treatment to fully independent living. These are part-time therapeutic treatment programs with flexible schedules for clients who wish to work, attend school, or commit time to other daily routines while still receiving treatment. At Asheville Recovery Center, we offer intensive outpatient programs for our clients who are ready to begin their transition back into work, school, and home life, but who still need regular support and therapy as they walk their recovery journey.
A partial hospitalization program, or PHP, serves as an option for clients who need full-time day treatment for a condition but who also want to live at home, in a sober living facility, or outside of residential treatment.
These programs offer immersive treatment while allowing semi-independent living for clients who have already completed inpatient treatment or who don’t require that level of care. It’s often referred to as the step in-between residential treatment and outpatient treatment.

The decision to seek an alcohol treatment center isn’t always an easy one to come to, but an addict should be commended for making this difficult decision. It may seem to be an obvious choice for those around the addict, but only you know that just taking the time to investigate alcohol rehab isn’t always easy. The disease of addiction is complicated. It may seem, through the eyes of someone who has never struggled with drug addiction, that behavior during active addiction is a choice, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If it were just about will to quit and being strong enough to quit, most people would just quit. But for an individual within the grips of active addiction, the decision seems to be made for them. That individual must make the decision to do something different once the consequences are great enough. A drug treatment center is often the way for one to go once the decision to stop has been made. Individuals in our outpatient programs will have the opportunity to meet with a therapist weekly to have individual therapy sessions. Although group therapy and family therapy are also available, individualized therapy sessions dive deeper into the underlying causes of addiction and addressing specific addictive behaviors so that recovery skills are developed. Group therapy is a widely utilized approach in the addiction treatment world because of its success in educating and preparing individuals for the world outside of treatment center walls. Group therapy is conducted by therapists and involves recovering peers coming together to discuss specific topics about addiction. For the best chance for recovery success, individuals should utilize group counseling methods.
Addiction is a family disease. It doesn’t just affect the individual habitually using substances, but all the people that love that individual as well. Throughout active addiction, loved ones of addicted individuals are lied to, neglected, and taken advantage of. On the other hand, the pain of watching a loved one slip down the slope of addiction can stir up unhealthy emotions and reactions. Although there are certain relationships developed throughout active addiction that need to be left in the past, family relationships should be restored so that individuals in recovery have a loving support system all their own to rely upon. Family counseling services throughout addiction treatment allow for the healing of family relationships, education about addiction, and the maintaining of a healthy support system.
Traditional forms of therapy, like individualized and group therapy, are shown to be effective throughout treatment. But, research and experience have shown the staff at Asheville Recovery Center that alternative methods of therapy also help patients in addiction recovery to heal from their pasts and make way for a better future. There are a few forms of holistic therapy that are offered at Asheville Recovery Center for patients who wish to have a more fulfilling treatment experience and give themselves the best chance for a long-term and successful recovery.

Unfortunately, many find out that a quick stay at a residential facility or attending an IOP is not enough treatment and end up relapsing in early recovery. What Makes Asheville Recovery Center Different
The Asheville Recovery Center was founded by members of the recovery community with years of experience working in the addiction treatment field. Through their experience working in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, they discovered that something was missing from the standard model of addiction treatment commonly found in most facilities. What addiction treatment is missing in the modern world is the intimate, compassionate nature that makes recovery possible. After having been clean and sober for 6 year's, I relapsed on and off for a year. I came to ARC and they have definitely gotten me back on track and I feel better than ever! All the staff were wonderful! Bent over backwards to help you. My therapist was also great, she listened and helped me figure out what I needed to work on. It was clean, and all in all a great, rewarding experience! I would recommend this program for anyone who needs help.

I love this facility. The staff, the classes, the environment was all fantastic. When I first showed up in December 2021 I was beyond nervous and skeptical about the entire thing. Within a week I felt right at home. The varierty of group topics and the availability of the counselors was such a relief and extremely helpful personally. ARC makes me want to be sober and clean. I was pretty nervous coming to treatment. I had never gone to a meeting, much less an inpatient rehab facility. At most, I was expecting a place that would just force me to stay clean for a month without having to use my willpower, but I actually learned a lot more than I thought I would about relapse prevention, and most importantly, how to live a truly clean life, not just a life of abstinence.
The staff were great, and my therapist was very helpful. We made a personalized treatment plan, and by the end of treatment, I had hope for the future for the first time in a long time.

ARC is clean friendly, environment that allowed me the opportunity to rest and heal. No one wants to go to a treatment center and taking the time to step away from the world for a bit is a difficult choice. But I'm glad someone cared enough about me to research places to find the right spot for me. I'm so glad I chose to listen and take the time to work on making a better life for myself. I was really struggling and apprehensive about going to treatment, until I got here. Every staff member at Asheville Recovery Center made sure that I felt comfortable and like I was at home. Any time I ever needed anything, even the smallest, simplest thing, they immediately did the best that they could to help with my request. I received amazing therapy sessions and classes. Asheville Recovery center helped me find the path to a beautiful sober life. i feel like i have the tool kit to have a successful recovery. Communal living in the nest provides a wonderful group atmosphere. all of the staff were extremely helpful, and were able to answer any questions i had during my stay. Coming to ARC was really one of the best things I've ever done. I received the treatment and education necessary to move forward with my recovery and finally begin a healthy, happy, productive life. ARC is absolutely amazing. They accommodated to all of my needs, and truly worked with me on the things I needed to get through in order to stay clean. They have completely changed my life, and gave me the tools to continue building such a great life for myself. The techs and all the clinical staff go above and beyond, and do it without hesitation.

ARC was exactly what I needed! After a 17 yr bout with opioid dependency this place helped me find myself again. The staff is all very caring and passionate about what they do. They helped give me the tools I needed to start my recovery as well as provided a positive and family like atmosphere. The owners are very hands on and interact with the clients on a regular basis. I know for a fact from living in Sober Living in Asheville, this place is the best period. They seem to truly and genuinely care, and the owners are fantastic people. If you want a true place to recover away from all the patient brokering madness in florida and are uneasy about treatment, rest assured these guys are the best around. Thank god for a treatment center that looks at you with love and positivity, instead of being treated like a number like I was in many rehabs in Florida.

Asheville recovery center is the best treatment center around. The staff members truly care about your well being, they want to see you grow which gives off a homey environmental vibe and makes you feel comfortable while going through changes. The Living conditions are luxury, ARC offers many different types of counseling/therapy/self care which gives you options to see what's a good fit for you. Highly recommended to anybody struggling with addiction.

My name is Linda, I live in NJ and my son Eric was living in Asheville when he relapsed, we were unable to locate Eric and felt very desperate and scared we reached out to Asheville Recovery and they immediately came to the rescue, Hassey Adelsberger I never meant you but you made me feel so comfortable and went above and beyond as one of the people that helped locate my son and get him to Asheville Recovery, without people like Hassey in this world my son may not be alive today, thank you again, today my son is healthy clean and happy !!
