Services
Audubon County Memorial Hospital was established as a 29-bed acute care county owned hospital in 1952 to serve the residents of Audubon County and surrounding areas. In the year 2000 the hospital was designated by the state of Iowa as a "necessary provider" making it eligible to become a critical access hospital.
Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics is a 17-bed, Critical Access Hospital serving Audubon County and the surrounding areas, with the mission of "Excellence With Quality and Compassion to Those We Serve." We also operate two rural health clinics, Audubon Family Health Care and Exira Medical Clinic.
Cardiac Rehab is a supervised and individualized program designed to help you improve your health and decrease your cardiac risk factors. This happens after you are discharged from the hospital from open heart surgery or a heart attack. Sessions are usually 2-3 times per week involving exercise, strength training and education.
A health emergency can happen at any time, and the experienced healthcare providers at Audubon County Memorial Hospital's emergency department are ready 24/7 to handle any medical need that you may have. All registered nurses providing care in the emergency department setting are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).

I have called 4 times to get an itemized receipt. Its been months and I keep calling them they keep promising to send one and I still have no receipt. Now they told us we paid in full and then sent us another bill and said it was a mistake and we still owe them money. This is the least professional place. I will never go back. Edit: Its been two weeks and they are still trying to double bill me.

I already paid in full. I called and the account manager said that I paid in full and it was a billing mistake. Yet they are still sending me bills. I called again and now they have changed their story and are saying I still owe money. This is the most dishonest and unprofessional hospital.

Recently had a loved one taken by ambulance to ACMH. I was completely unfamiliar with this hospital and concerned because it is small and outdated in appearance. My concerns were invalid. They took EXCELLENT care of him in emergency and ICU. They left no stone unturned in his care. We had been to several doctors and emergency at Pittsburgh University hospital and were dismissed and not taken seriously about his symptoms. FINALLY, someone took charge of his illness AND care at ACMH. ALL of the staff have been professional and friendly. He has recovered and is doing very well.

Dr. Michael was AWESOME and the nurses were very friendly and professional. Visit was quick, treatment was spot on, honestly, one of the best ER visits I have ever had. It's never fun when you have to go to an ER but they made it as painless as possible.

I had a procedure done, Entrance E. Marlene, the receptionist greeted me with a smile, very pleasant. The nurses and doctor were very informative and made me feel comfortable! I had a good experience. Procedure went well. Thank you all!

Went to ER and was put into a hallway. Then I had to wait almost 6 hours before getting checked out! I was in severe pain and didn't get any relief until taken into a ER room for diagnosis.

I was given medication at this hospital. A short time later, I passed out and hit the floor. When I requested the incident report for my records, the rude administrator asked me what I knew about incident reports, why I needed the report, and stated that she couldn't give it to me. This place definitely seems shady to me.

My rate is based on the nursing staff for a small procedure I had done yesterday. If I was rating the Entrance E check in women, it would be a 0. No smiles. I was a number. Easy or hard surgery, it's surgery. And out of 3 women were they all having a bad morning to not smile or say you're welcome or thank you. Unprofessional front desk. Loved the nurses, my anesthesiologist in the operating room and Dr. Glick.

We came in late on 7.9.21 for a face lacerations from glass. ACMH's ER team that was staffed that night went above and beyond. My girlfriend was losing lots of blood; the security immediately took her right in. In no time they cleaned the wounds, dressed, and stitched everything, no issues. Very clean work. Even with being short staffed, they had a well oiled machine going. I want to thank everyone who was staffed that night for saving my love's life, and being so professional, and kept moral high even with the dark situation. Thank you
