Four out of five Americans will have an attack of back pain during their lifetime. Many people are doomed to endless visits to the back doctor. That's because once you have your first back pain attack, you are four times more likely to have a recurrence. If you have back or neck pain, we are now in a position to help.

Augusta Back is a spine center that takes a multidisciplinary "team approach" to spine care. Augusta Back has six neurosurgeons who do a large volume of spine surgeries, teamed with a pain management specialist and spine-specialized physical therapy - all under one roof.

Four out of five Americans will have an attack of back pain during their lifetime. Many people are doomed to endless visits to the back doctor. That's because once you have your first back pain attack, you are four times more likely to have a recurrence. If you have back or neck pain, we are now in a position to help.
In our fast-paced society, we often look for "quick fix" solution - a pill or injection or surgery - to quickly remove the pain. Back and neck pain is similar to heart problems. A person who has a "heart attack" will often have years of heart disease and high risk behavior that heightens their risk of a heart attack or stroke.
When you go to the dentist to get a cavity filled, the dentist will remind you to floss and brush your teeth daily to prevent future cavities. Similarly, we strongly emphasize a daily back or neck exercise program to prevent a future recurrence of back strain. Once you have a back pain attack, you're four times more likely to have a recurrence.
One of the key features that sets AugustaBack apart from other clinics that treat back and neck pain is its spine-specialized therapy department. Patients will be connected with a spine therapist who is one of the most well-respected spine therapy methods in the country. To come to a definitive conclusion regarding its proven benefit, injection therapy needs to undergo further testing. Some experts theorize that there may be some placebo effect associated with the relief that accompanies an injection.

I can't give my real name because I don't want any retribution. Something shady is going on with this office. Drs leaving. I get a new dr who I have yet to even see. I get a assistant every single time. I have not even met this supposed new dr. I called the office for an emergency back in August and no one even called me back. They are never on time for their appointments and I have had one scheduled first to check since I usually have mine middle afternoon.

I have spoken to many people who they are suddenly taking off their medicines. I hear there are a lot of lawsuits against this office. It makes you wonder what is going on. I switched because they are not going to call me then they do not deserve to treat me. Assistant does nothing but type on computer. Barely looked at me the whole time. Did not even notice my arm was in a sling. Get less patients and improve your quality of care if you have too many and not enough time.

Warning: If you are referred here with a Lumbar MRI make sure your primary care doc is specific in requesting that you see a doctor that is a spine surgeon and not an anesthesiologist! I was sent here in 2017 with my mri and was blown off by Dr. Forgay (anesthesiologist) telling me there wasn't anything in my lumbar mri that would be causing me severe groin and hip pain.

Once that was ruled out I went through a nightmare seeing many other specialists but nobody could help. I closed down my booming business and sold my house and moved back up near Detroit to try getting help. A neurosurgeon up here recently looked at my mri from 2017 and a new one that both show a severe herniated disc, severe arthritis and disc disease.

I'm now scheduled for surgery. I hope my experience saves someone else this life upheaval and aggravation! Given the experience I had with Forgay misdiagnosing, I don't think I would trust him as an anesthesiologist either.

I've been going here for over a year. I was a patient of Dr Stewart's. Ever since he left I've recieved no care. I should've seen remaining doctor my first appointment back as I was due for procedures. However instead I was denied refills, had a med change, made to feel like an addict when I NEVER over used my meds. I did get a referral for my tailbone which I just started as it was over a month wait.

Only good thing. My next appointment was yet again with the nurse! I had tested negative for Covid 25 days prior to appointment and even though I messaged asking if I even needed to come in since they wouldn't give me proper meds, let me see doctor and I hadn't seen physical therapist they didn't respond. So I went. Only to be denied care. They then approved the appointment after I showed proof of Covid test and that it had been weeks.

They charged me my copay and had me sitting in waiting room. 15 minutes later I was yet again denied to be seen. I nicely told front staff I was never going back. I have yet to receive my $25 back and it's been 2 weeks. I tried messaging thru uhmychart but they've removed me as a patient. Which is hilarious because they never even called me to talk to me after I told them how I felt. This place is awful!

I have been a patient here for years and saw Erin, Dr Stewart's PA. They were great. The ONLY reason I'm changing clinics is my doc and PA left so I'm going to follow them. The only thing is they are big sticklers for the time slots to pick up your prescriptions. Don't expect them to let you pick anything up even 10 minutes late. So plan ahead and prepare!

Dr. Baker and his staff are very professional and courteous! Jamie is an outstanding P.A. They truly care about their pts. They take the time to listen. They don't make you feel like another# or a payday. Very sympathetic, starting from the receptionist until you walk out the door! I wish I could give 10 stars! Would recommend to family, friends and strangers! Thank you to all who work at Augusta Back, ya'll are awesome!

I am a new patient with Dr. Baker and was very satisfied with my first appointment with him. I am still not really clear about the prescriotion protocol. I received 1 prescription with no refills, but my next appt. Is 3 months away. Maybe someone could answer that one for me.

Dr. Stewart and melissa are the best. After seeing the same doctor for 10 years, i was nervous to start seeing a new doctor when i came here, but everyone made me feel so comfortable and welcome. I was scared to have a procedure because of my other health issues, but Dr. Stewart and the people at summerville took such good care of me and helped me to feel at ease. All the staff that i have ever come into contact with at augusta back have been nothing less than great to me.

I have to give a big shout out to the reception staff. I have found them all to be very pleasant. Especially Melissa! She took extra time to help me with insurance issues and questions. She is soft spoken and really cares about the patients. I hope her manager reads these and gives her a kudos. Most of the reviews I read about offices, has complaints about front end staff.

At this office you will get compassion, empathy, and professionalism. Thank you all for this. When you live with pain 24 Hours a day, it's a relief to go to an office and have great staff. They are all wonderful. But thank you Melissa!

Surgery seemed to be successful in December but the pain is back. I left voice mails for for the nurse but never got a return call. So I called to schedule an appointment and the lady who answered was very inconsiderate. She cut me off several times and was not sympathetic at all. I scheduled an appointment for almost 4 weeks out. Am I suppose to deal with the pain without answers for so long?

I don't like pain pills and need some relief. I work on my feet and have to work. I think only patients should be hired to work there so they'll be more sympathetic and seem more concerned.
