As the old saying goes, I definitely should have read reviews before conducting business with Austin Sports Medicine (ASM) and I paid for it firsthand months after my actual MRI was done in May 2021. The professional services pertaining to in-facility treatment and care was satisfactory, but the one motivator for me eliminating my chances of ever doing business with ASM again would, hands down, be their administrative folks. This, honestly, could have even been reconciled at the MRI location as it still counts as a step in the overall lifecycle I took with ASM.

Prior to my two MRIs, I was given a quote which one would expect the actual cost to resemble a quote rather closely once you actually receive the bill(s). Not the case with ASM and when I inquired on the discrepancy, they repeatedly deferred to insurance and my own lack of understanding as the reason for the discrepancy. Not until the predicament reached the CEO was there ever any real ownership or client satisfaction strategy put into play.

Strike 1 ASM. Fast forward to July 2021, and two ominous MRI readings found their way onto my insurance claims. Was this ever mentioned by ASM in the original quote? You guessed it, nope! For not being at my deductible for 2021, those two charges put me over $300 from this original "quote" ASM provided. When I inquired about the readings, you guessed it again, I was immediately struck with deflection of ownership and blame on other parties.

Strike 2 ASM. Not only after I found myself in this situation did I peruse other reviews, and goodness, that is why I mentioned it at the beginning of this review. This does not appear to be ASMs first rodeo in painting inaccurate portraits for their patients. After their CEO refused to speak over the phone, would only converse via email (sketchy within itself) did I realize that was the last straw for me.

Strike 3 ASM and you're out as the old saying goes. I would highly recommend asking about all possible prices upfront and for ASMs administrative staff, perhaps, embarking on some sort of training in client/patient relations as opportunities clearly exist from the TOP down.
