Specialized Pain Management is an advanced medical practice that emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. This is the preferred method because patients realize maximal opportunity for improvement when input is promoted among specialists. Our Medical Director completed his training at Johns Hopkins (Anesthesia Residency) and the Cleveland Clinic (Pain Management Fellowship).
Dr. Daniel Batlan, Outstanding Nevada physician, founded Specialized Pain Management almost twenty (20) years ago. Since then, the Nevada practice has become one of the region's most respected in the field of Pain Medicine, basing its treatment of patients with acute and chronic pain conditions upon the belief that no one should suffer from pain.
Specialized Pain Management is dedicated to working with patients in a compassionate and personalized manner. Pain is a universal experience, yet each individual's encounter with pain is unique. At Specialized Pain Management, we begin with a comprehensive evaluation. Then, we formulate an individualized plan to help patients manage their pain.
Epidurals are one of the most common procedures that are performed by Pain Management specialists. They are performed to relieve neck and low back pain (as well as "Sciatica", or pain plus numbness in the legs or arms) that is caused by "herniated or slipped" discs in the spine, or "arthritis" (Osteoarthritis) of the spine.

My Doctor referred me to his office last week and when I called their office the next day I was told that they haven't receive the referral so I called my Doctor again to fax it. When I called them again I was told that Doctor Batlan need to review the referral. I never receive any call from them that's why I decided to call again this morning the person who answered didn't even introduce herself and she told me that doctor Batlan denied the referral.

Why not call me and let me know what the reason behind the denial since I know that they accept my insurance? I waited for a week to hear from them instead I have to call them and find out that the doctor doesn't want to see a new patient?

Dr. Batlan was able to relieve my pain that I have had for quite a while now by 85% or more. He is very knowledgeable in what he does. I would recommend looking him up if you need competent pain management.

Very arrogant. Kept telling surgically nurse to confirm how great he was. Previous to the surgery he hurried out to put in IV because he didn't want to wait for the staff to do it. Luckily I stopped him as he hadn't bothered to check and I'm allergic to contract dye.(which was why the staff hadn't done it).

NOT RECOMMENDED! Dr. Batlan pain management doctor you owe me $30.00 for missing my appointment! That is what you would have charge me. And a hour and a half past my appointment time for no reason IS missing my appointment. Send it to my mailing address on file. Five people in waiting rooms. (The doors were opened so I could see in) Maybe they were there because of drug prescriptions?

Those pep;e will sit around for hours! One woman came for her oxycodone prescription refill. (I heard her talking & complaining that she only gets 28 pills a month!) LOL again! And still no Dr Batlan in sight. Dr Batlan told me a lot of staff that day called in sick so he was short staffed and it couldn't be helped. LIAR! Liar liar pants on fire!

I went and check at the front desk and the receptionist and assistant told me NO one was out sick. When I left without seeing the Dr. there were about 12 additional people in the waiting room! (12 + 5 + 17 people sitting aound!) LOL! Hey Doctor pack them in for those Oxycodone prescriptions!

After my accident which left me with 3 bulging discs and bone spurs in my neck, I was referred to Dr. Batlan. I was in pain every day all day. After the first injection in my neck I went from a pain level of an 8 to a 6, then after my second injection I went from a 6 to a 2 or 3 which is completely manageable for me. I would highly recommend him.

The doctor is very arrogant and rushes you off without even a glance at what's wrong just ASSUMES (makes an ass out of u and me) you're shopping for pain pills-long wait for a disappointing diagnosis which was none at all

I swent to batlan to get painrelief from 3 lu.bar fusions andine up pain management for an up comi.g cervical fusion. He was great the first visit, but after that he NEVER came in the room, merely poked his head in and said your refills are at the counter. the longest I've seen him was 26 seconds. I've asked the office staff for longer appointments and I've asked doctor batlan, but never had an office last more than seconds discussing my case. Don't see him if your in pain.

He forgot I had surgery, wasn't concerned about my pain, and thought 2, 5 mg percocets were enough after havi.g a fusion. All he said was do you want your refills or not. Id give less than 1 star if I could.

I'm very happy to be in the care of Dr. Batlan. He explains everything in great detail, thus extremely informative and I feel well educated. My first procedure went 100% positive -- translates to 80% improvement so far. His office staff are cordial and the same goes with the team in the surgery center. At the center, I was asked "I'm taking your pillow" and my response was "WHY?." The team of four went wild and laughed their butts off -- great ice breaker. Please continue to improve daily and keep your sense of humor no matter what. Great health to every person!

This doctor never did what he was supposed to do to take care of my pain management needs. He also had me re-sign his office paper work stating that I would accept prescriptions for OPIADS, even though I would not do so. He stood over me and had me scratch out that I would accept HIS type of prescribing. As of 2020 the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners will not touch this guy.

No "slap on the hand" for forcing a patient to go against their beliefs. Suggestion: DO NOT GO TO SEE DR. DANIEL BATLAN, OR DO NOT EXPECT THE NEVADA STATE MEDICAL BOARD TO CARE ABOUT YOUR NEEDS EITHER!

I have been a patient of Dr. Batlan since we moved here from California. I had been seeing an excellent Dr. in Marina del Rey, and am very fortunate to have replaced him with Dr. Batlan. He is competent, skilled, caring plus his medical training is most impressive. His staff us always pleasant and accomodating.

I attended an appointment with two family members. No one in the office (including Dr. Batlan) asked either of them any questions about their pain levels, pain location, pain management, or if they had any new pain. No one asked if pain medication was even working, or if there were any negative reactions. No one asked for a list of other medications they were taking.

No one took any stats such as weight, temperature, or blood pressure. Batlan literally patted himself on the back for being a great doctor, filled their prescriptions and that ended the appointment. I do not consider him to be a a doctor that cares about his patients medical condition, pain level or even concern over possible opioid addiction.

I believe Dr Batlan is very qualified and is a great technical pain management specialist. He tries to really understand your issues and come up with solutions and recommendations for your pain management. There are no magic wands, so be realistic and you can get the help you need. The staff is nice. Due to the volume of patients you need to follow up with them but folks, it's your pain.

His approach to pain injections is different and I have found them to be more pain relieving over a longer period of time. Speak up, he can't read minds but once he understands he will try his best to help.

To say that this doctor is a miracle worker is an understatement. His treatment plan has been a life changer. I have been in excruciating pain for many months ever since I picked up and carried my (very large) 4 year old. With two herniated lumbar discs and facets disease I could barely move, I was living on pain relievers and muscle relaxers (obviously to no avail).

Then my PCP referred me to Dr. Batlan, WOW! What a difference he made, his demeanor and professionalism went above and beyond. He was direct, he had a plan and had amazing follow through. Top marks to his staff as well, (kind, courteous and on task). All I can say is that after being under his care for 2 months I am now able to walk and my pain is almost non-existent. If I could give 10 stars I would**********!

I've had severe back pain for about 8 months now. My L4/L5 look like that of an Olympian gymnast. It's not good at all. I've had physical therapy, Advil day in and day out, floating therapy, muscle therapy, professional massages, chiropractor care, Hydrocodone just to fall asleep- nothing worked. I couldn't even sit for 20 min or do anything in the gym.

I wasn't only in severe pain, I was feeling hopeless. Dr Batlan was referred to me to hopefully get ANY relief at all. It's the day after my epidural shot to my lumbar and I already feel 75% better. I can sit, I can stand and I'm no longer in severe pain. Absolutely miraculous. I've heard of complaints about the wait to see doctors, and although my waits have been considerably short, if you experience a wait, would you rather be seen immediately by a mediocre doctor?

Or wait a bit to be seen by the best. Dr Batlan KNOWS exactly what he's doing and he explains everything. I'd wait hours if i had to. He's the absolute best and that's that. When you're ready to go back to living, go to him. Thank me later.

He is only in for the money! Last month he pulled me and maybe 6 other patients out to the hall didn't talk to any of us. Didn't examine anyone! Just told us all to get drug tested. Ok. Be knows all meds I'm on. But the one I take to sleep bothered him after drug test. Beforehand for over a year he didn't care. This appt. I waited 1 hr.8mins. Just so he could dismiss me because of night time med.

I could actually take it every 4hrs as my legal prescription says. I take 1/2 at night. He at this time did no exam, no questions. But both times I had to pay 97.00 per visit. I am reporting him to all agencies tomorrow. If I were a patient of this codisending self righteous man. I would be careful. I had asked to come every 2 months because I wasn't taking all the med. Nope!

He wouldn't hear of it. Look up his name he has been investigated 2 times. Read the articles yourself. He can toot his own horn all he wants but he couldn't careless about you.

I've been a patient of Dr. Batlan for going on a year and I HIGHLY recommend him. My wait time is never more than 5-10 minutes (with one exception), often less, whereas not a few pain management doctors I've been to have a wait time of up to two hours. A couple times I've waited longer. Ugh! Another positive for me is I've never been "pawned off" to a PA, although I've met a some good ones over the years. I've always seen Dr. Batlan.

I respect him and trust his judgment and his knowledge of my spine "challenges". Regarding medications, they are always prepared for me before I walk out the door rather than being written, then waiting up to 10 minutes for a signature. His office staff is also caring, competent and welcoming! Again, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Batlan for pain management.

Came to see Dr. Batlan for my herniated discs and only two shots (at seven hills surgical center) made all the whole difference in the world. Even though waiting time in the office and before surgery is on the long side, it worth the wait. Highly recommend Dr. Batlan

Dr. Batlan is a wonderful and caring doctor with the staff to match. I've been suffering from low back pain for almost 4 years without any success at managing the pain myself. I just had my first injection yesterday with amazing results! Almost all the pain is gone and I'm told that the affects usually don't take place until 2 days after. I feel like a whole new person! Thank you to Dr. Batlan and his staff, as well as Seven Hills Surgery Center!

Dr. Batlan recently put in a spinal cord stimulator her that worked fantastic it was the best thing I ever did it brought my pain level down from eight or 9 to a 2 or less. I would definitely do it again and I am now having a permanent one put in my thanks to Dr. Batlan and staff for doing a great job.

One star is too good, should be a ZERO! Office staff incompetent. Dr. Batlan speaks to patient and family in an extremely condescending manner. Horrible experience. STAY AWAY! Human beings deserve better treatment!

Dr. Batlan is a new doctor for me this year. I really only changed due to insurance. I have had a few issues with office staff not answering the phone and not getting information for prior authorization with my insurance company and a speedy manner, this Dr also does not seem to have a permanent office on the West side of town, but I am told that will change in May, thus the reason for the 3 star review.

I did bring these issues to the attention of the physician and when he tried to call his own phone number and found they did not answer he wasn't too pleased! It seems he did rectify the issues because when I have called since then I have had someone pick up and also had someone return my calls if needed. I will see how the next few months ago and update my review should more or less stars be needed.

Dr. Batlan is a great doctor who really listens to all of my concerns and explained all my options. I've had constant pain in my back for a few years after an accident. Thanks to Dr. Batlan, I've been able to avoid surgery and continue to work and even play the occasional basketball.
