Services
Goodwill Northern New England is a nonprofit social enterprise that creates jobs, delivers needed services for people with diverse challenges, uses environmentally friendly products and processes - all while earning revenue to pay for and expand innovative workforce services in all three states.
We add more than 1,000 hand-selected items to each of our store's shelves every day, all at affordable prices for you and your family. When you shop or donate to Goodwill, you support our mission to empower individuals with diverse challenges. Every donation reduces waste, creates jobs and funds Goodwill-designed programs to help individuals reach stability and be part of our communities. Every item in Goodwill has a colorful tag or sticker with its price. There are six pricing colors and every week one color goes on sale for 50% off.
Goodwill employees may decline a donation if it is not in clean or in saleable condition or if they are unable to assist with larger items due to risk of injury. Our employees often help unload donations, however cannot help if (in their judgement) doing so may damage any vehicle, or if doing so is unsafe for them or anyone else.
Your generosity helps neighbors build a stable life through work, re-learn how to walk after a brain injury, keep residents in staffed homes healthy and independent, and so much more. Will and estate gifts are major gifts realized at the time of the donor's death as a part of their will and estate plans.

Prices are astronomically high. Anything that's worth half a bit can be expected to be priced just shy or at par with retail values. For a business that receives a majority of it's inventory on a donated basis this is simply deplorable.

Prices are too high for used items! This isn't suppose to be some high end boutique. Should be ashamed of yourselves for selling things as high as you do. This is suppose to be for all of us who want to save $ in a world of already high prices on everything else and goodwill is suppose to be a place you can get cheap used goods. Best to go to yard sales.

First and foremost, the woman working at the donation station on May 21, 2022 around 2:30pm was by far the rudest person I've ever encountered at a Goodwill. If you look at other reviews around the same time, many others seem to have had the same issue with this woman. My husband and I recently moved, so we had a lot of things that we opted to donate once we unpacked; household and kitchen items, tons of clothing, all in excellent condition.

A lot of it was just stuff that we simply didnt have room for or outgrown. We brought in 4 boxes total, all organized into groups such as men's clothing, women's clothing, and kitchen. Upon arrival, the wan working the dropoff station came out and just stood there. Not even a hello. After taking the boxes out of our car, which she couldn't even be bothered to feign a polite attempt to help us unload, she told us that we had to take everything out of the boxes and separate them for her into separate bins.

To be clear, we were unaware that there are new policies regarding donations, and they need to be separated into certain categories. We only found that out when we called this Goodwill afterwards to make a complaint, which we were unable to do because it's just an automated line. Regardless, the woman working didn't tell us any of this, she just very flatly told us we needed to unbox everything and put them into the appropriate bin.

We went ahead and began separating items while she stood there visibly irritaed with us. My husband had asked about what to do with clothing hangers as we had them sorted with the clothing. She literally told him "You get to sort that sh*t too." We ended up taking our boxes back and loading them in the car again. We'll go ahead and donate our things somewhere else that isn't employing such trash excuses of human beings at what is supposed to be a charitable place.

Often short staffed. Needs a ramp, watched an elderly lady do a face plant walking in. Curb needs attention. Also find it odd that during a time of economic stress that this would be a good time to increase prices So high on donated items from community (expecting to help others) The cost of donations hasnt increased 1 cent. Furniture 100$ really? Kids can barely afford rent locally.

Plan on spending a little time to browse this very spacious layout. The community donations reflect tasteful, constantly changing and diverse selection -- at prices that make your day.

Terrible customer service at the drop off center. My boyfriend and I went to drop off a bag of shoes this past Saturday and were met by a very rude woman who was angered that I was scanning the QR code on the poster for the receipt. Maybe the poster shouldn't say SCAN HERE FOR YOUR RECEIPT. I have the right to keep my records in order. She also was nitpicking which bin he dropped the bag off in and gave nonstop attitude. Several other reviews say similar, there is no need of this behavior from your employees!

The absolute worst at accepting donations. We regularly donate items in mint condition to goodwill. This is by far the worst experience and customer service I've seen. Especially for a place that profits from selling your donated items. We pulled up with four boxes labeled and sorted. The worker there, with attitude, was extremely rude and not helpful in her direction.

Most place we've been to usually offer a helping hand out of courtesy or at the bare minimum greet you. If I could give this 0 stars I would. DON'T DONATE here until they address this issue by responding to myself or someone of the other comments.

Think twice before donating here. They will not take furniture unless it's in mint condition (since when?) and they are extremely rude and short with you at drop off. After reading the other recent reviews, I'm not the only one who had this experience. I had a beautiful solid wood dresser they said was junk. It was easily 10 times nicer than anything they had on the floor. On top of that, the prices inside are astronomical for second hand stuff. I used to love thrifting here but I definitely won't be back.

I'm sorry. I dislike giving poor reviews. But I will never go to any Goodwill store again. The Hudson one is the same as a Amherst. They mostly have stuff that is manufactured very cheaply just for flea markets and the stuff that is used /donated is nothing but pure junk. I know I have donated some excellent stuff and gone back to see if it ever made the shelves.

I don't know where things go, I don't know what they do. They don't put much of it out on the shelves and when they do it is highly priced. I can buy a glass mug brand new for three dollars. A goodwill used ones with scratches were three dollars. I bought a clock. I was told I could return it if it didn't work. It didn't, but it's not worth the gas money going back to return it. I will never return.

I love Goodwill! I always find great deals. Staff is polite. It is clean, which is hard to achieve for any clothing store even more for a second hand one. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the music is so loud! Sometimes it is so bad that I just have to leave.

When this store started out, they had more higher end clothing. Now lots of Walmart brand and disappointing. I do love going and always hit the crafts section, glassware, and picture frames. Please bring back more higher end clothing.
