Services
The Transitional Care Unit (or Swing Bed Unit) is a short-term stay program designed to serve patients who are transitioning from a phase of illness or recovery and no longer require acute care services. These patients continue to need services that cannot be easily provided in their homes. The Transitional Care Unit's average length of stay is generally one to two weeks. The goal of our Inpatient Transitional Unit is to successfully transition patients from the hospital back to their home or community living.
Managing Diabetes If you are diagnosed with diabetes, we will guide you through self-management. First, upon referral by your physician, you and your diabetes educator will conduct a personal diabetes assessment. You will then attend our classes comforted by the support of others with diabetes, enjoy a healthy lunch, and you will receive personal counseling.
Designed to help you on the road to recovery, our outpatient exercise program begins as early as two weeks following discharge from the hospital. The program helps you make the transition to the highest possible quality of life as you gradually achieve a higher level of fitness. This program runs twelve weeks, three times per week.
Hocking Valley Community Hospital has a full service laboratory offering timely, accurate, state-of-the-art testing. Our staff is dedicated to a high level of technical expertise and excellent customer service. The Laboratory maintains a staff of qualified Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and Phlebotomists on a 24-hour per day basis.

Haven't even checked out of this place but I have a SEVERE ear infection and was told to wait in my car and they'd call me in. 40 minutes pass and they finally call me in only to send me back out and I've been waiting what feels like another hour so far. I told them my pain was a 10. On the verge of tears this entire time, ear pulsing. Worst pain in my life, and I don't feel heard or taken care of at all.

After a recent short hospitalization, my husband experienced wonderful care from the ER to his 5 day stay in SCU. During this overwhelming and trying time, the days were beyond long, filled with worry and stress, We had faith in Dr. Ireton and Dr. Fratczak to make the best medical decisions, and reassurance from the SCU nurses. What a blessing to have such great care, so close to home!

My brother is a type one diabetic, he went to the hospital in physical pain, because his sugar was high they told him he was in DKA and refused to listen to him, were extremely rude, and talked over him when he tried to say that he's not in DKA he is in physical pain. A trip to Lancaster hospital and he was indeed NOT in DKA and was given the real problem causing the pain. Don't waste your time going to this hospital.

This review is for the ER. They were completely overwhelmed and I spent hours in the ER hallway on a stretcher yet I got the best care I have ever had in my life. I watched as top priority (more serious) cases were handled coming in off of the ambulance. Dr. Sevier and staff were incredible, it definitely gave me a new perspective. When my turn came they helped me immeasurably. Urgent care staff could take a lesson from the ER!

On my current camping trip in the area my daughter woke up having some issues after midnight. I took her into Hocking Valley Community Hospital arriving around 1am to the emergency room. I was pleased at how quickly they got her back into a room and how quick the respiratory specialist was in the room to help her. I wish I could remember her name because she was great and made sure she explained things to my 6 year old daughter.

Our nurse, Salina, was also wonderful. She was very kind and compassionate. I was very comfortable with all treatments given and the way she made sure I knew what was going on. Lastly I have to say I was glad that Dr. Prince was working that night. He was great and made sure she had no other issues before sending us on our way. For a middle of the night emergency this was a good experience.

I received high quality service at this UrgentCare/Hospital. I did have a problem with billing but I called and the administration was excellent about correcting the bill. Also, if you come here be realistic and patient. I was taken at a room and than my blood pressure and bloodwork was done. Bloodwork takes time be processed and than given back to the doctor on staff.

Doctor came in about 30 minutes later and had all the information to talk to me intelligently and thoughtfully. Good hospital / UrgentCare. The Urgentcare is usually a nurse practitioner. Doctors at the Emergency Room. If I need Emergency Room care I would come back here again.

This is a great little community hospital. They offer many useful services. I've seen a nutritionist and used the cardiology gym after a recommendation from my cardiologist. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great program! I have also used the lab and x-ray departments. I had the same experience. Friendly and knowledgeable. Never had to wait very long. *There's also a fitness walk that happens in the parking lot. Some equipment to use for exercise too. Neat idea!

Was not familiar with this facility before I came in. Being extremely allergic to poison ivy, I came in to try to take care of the issue before it got too bad. Not only was the nurse practitioner relatable and easy to work with, but she was very adamant on allowing me to be a part of my own care. She asked what I would prefer for my treatment, and was willing to collaborate my care with me. I had to wait for a while before being seen, but all in all, it was very worth it. Kudos!
