Since the doctors of the center believe a picture is worth a thousand words; every prenatal visit includes an ultrasound. At Circle of Life, extraordinary care is not uncommon. It is the motivation for every decision, every patient consultation, and everyday practice.
We accept most insurances; however, due to the amount of different plans on multiple carriers, it is the responsibility of each patient to verify with their own insurance company whether or not their plan covers a particular healthcare provider. We understand that medical billing can be complicated and confusing.

Inappropriate comments. Inappropriate Ads. At your cervix? Seriously? Dr. Jeffrey Brown. did your mother ever teach you how to respect women and their anatomy? And yet, women throw their bodies your way with this kind of mindset? wow. Please ladies, if you respect your body, go elsewhere. Hands down least professional practice I have ever seen. Would you really want him drinking beers with his buddies and talking about YOUR cervix? Comments like that, prove he has 0 class. Misogynistic much?

What a joke this place is. The last 3 appointments I have waited anywhere between and hour and three before getting sent home every time. "Babies come" is what we get told. You have to dedicate a full day off just to come get results for blood work. If you aren't having a child so they can drain your insurance, you aren't a priority and will be sent away. Very sad way to treat humans.

One star is generous. Went in with my wife to get an iud. We have been told we look really young for our age and have been treated like kids a lot, but they took it too far. They didn't have anyone at the desk to check us in, we were patient but had to ask them when they would be able to take us even though we were the only ones in the lobby, after a 45+ minute wait they took her back.

She came out 5 minutes later crying. They did not numb her up, no lube, no warning they were going to continue with the procedure, and when she wenched in pain they said if that hurt then they aren't even going to try the iud and told her she had major medical problems (which we checked with another doctor and she doesn't). They told her if she wanted to come back with her mom they would be able to help her so they could talk to "an adult".

They then left the room. My wife was waiting until they got back to see what her options were, after 10 minutes they came back in and said, "you're still here? Get your clothes back on and go" leaving my wife with nothing but pain and distress about may having problems with her body. Later we called them to see what to do because my wife's been having problems with her period not ending for 3 weeks so naturally she is quite concerned. They told her that she would have to wait 3 weeks before seeing ANYONE because they were all booked up even though this could potentially be a health threatening situation.

Dr Robin houpe is amazing! I will continue to go to her from now on. She is very understanding and answer questions and is friendly as well as amazing at explaining things to me. First Dr to ever make me feel comfortable with my visits. Thank you so much.

I love the doctors and PAs there so the one star is not for them. However, I went in for a blood draw this morning with the lab tech Cathy. She was extremely rude and treated me with distain. I asked her to please check for additional orders for other tests for thyroid that needed to be done that I had asked for the day before from the nurse. She rattled them off without even letting me finish my sentence.

Then she said they don't except outside doctor orders I needed blood drawn and they were similar with the exception of two. So finally she called and got permission and then just treated me horribly as she went to draw my blood I said to her if you were having a bad day I would rather you not be the one that is poking me. And she deflected and put it off on me saying that I was the one in the bad mood. Needless to say her professionalism is in the toilet!

And I hope she is reprimanded, I am in the medical field as well and I do not appreciate the disrespect. Had I treated a patient the way she treated me I would've been fired.

I went to circle of life my very first pregnancy 4 years ago and loved it! I decided to go back for this next pregnancy and it is the biggest mess of a clinic I have ever seen. I'm so sad that this is how it ended up. I decided to give it 2 more tries because I just couldn't believe how bad it was, but after the second appointment I just didn't feel comfortable being in the care of this facility during my pregnancy. I hope it returns to how it used to be.

We were new to the area when i found out i was pregnant with my second child. I had a midwife in texas with my first and knew i wanted a midwife for my second. So one of the few my insurance covered was karen mcbride. It was close to where we were living at the time and seemed like a great facility from all the pictures. The waits are always long.

The ultrasound every visit is a joke. Every time i would come in with something to talk about that i was experiencing without saying much karen would turn on the ultrasound machine and get going. So i Would talk about what was going on to see if she could ease whatever was happening and she would go yeah that happens when your pregnant. My midwife in texas was so great about sitting with me.

No machines and talking about how i was feeling, remedies that would easy solve problems. she even cared about my emotional well being and my mental health. Where with karen i felt like i wasnt as important as the baby in my belly. I took a back seat to the midwife getting to sneak a peak and kicking me out. I hated it. I experienced the worst ever depression symptoms ive ever been through this pregnancy and felt like she kept brushing itoff.

I finally went to a different place at 32 weeks because i was so sick of how i was being ignored and this new midwife sat and chatted with me about my suicide attempt and helped me by prescribing stuff for me. Also when i was at circle of life i did my blood sugar test which is already no fun well when i passed karen was like we are going to do the really bad one so we can be sure these results are accurate.

That longer one is pure torture but how do you say no when the person you trust is pushing it? I am just over 200 lbs but i have never had blood sugar issues and between two pregnancys never ended up with gestational diabetes. But thank you for looking at me and going.hmm. thats not quite right. Then having me sit in your loud boring waiting room starving for hours just because that cant be quite right. They are not body sensative at all and i would never recommend them to anyone especially if they are heavy

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I've been going to Circle of Life for the past 5 years, initially for birth control and then for prenatal care. The only negative experience I've had was with Dr. Julia Johansson. She was the first doctor i saw because i preferred a female, and she is SO short with you to the point that it's rude.

She cannot be bothered to answer any questions. I switched to Dr. Bierer when I got pregnant and he is incredible. So caring, experienced, kind, takes the time to answer questions. He delivered my first baby via c-section due to the cord being wrapped around my baby's neck. He gave me options and i was comfortable through the entire experience.

My recovery was easy. He did a great job and the scar is only 3 inches. I'm now pregnant with my second baby and he said I can do a VBAC if I would like, or another c-section. Other positives: You get 3d ultrasound photos every visit The nurses are friendly & the blood work technicians do a great job, hardly any pain at all The building is comfortable and cozy I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appointment.

So far the experience with the doctors and nurses has been amazing, other than having to wait up to an hour and a half sometimes. But that's no big deal considering they may be called into helping with a birth at times. The only problem me and my wife have been having is with the billing and financial side of things. They take advantage of you, will talk in circles, and will either make up or "not have" certain policies that goes against what they WANT instead of what is right.

They refuse to work with us and talk it out, and are being extremely rotten about it. It's just interesting to see a company full of adults bully and take advantage of a 21 year old mom about to have her first child. But like I said, at least our doctor Karen McBride and our nurses, have been extremely kind and helpful

I am on my third pregnancy and I am high risk. I have been having some extreme pain and was hoping to get some sort of comforting advice to help with the pain. Instead, I waited on hold for over 2 hours never even got to talk to a nurse. I've gone to Circle Of Life partially for my two pregnancies before and they ALWAYS DISAPPOINT.

I visited Circle of Life Women's Center three times because my husband and I are struggling to get pregnant. Each visit, I met with Dr. Kelli Mauric who was very rushed and uninformative. My first visit, I sat naked from the waist down in my room waiting over an hour and a half for the doctor to come in. Second visits comes, same thing. Third visit, same, except this time I got off the table after almost two hours and went into the hall to ask where the doctor was since they would be closing in 5 minutes and I still hadn't even seen her. When deciding to go to COL, I looked past the bad reviews because it was close to my house, but I highly regret that. Absolutely terrible service. Will not go back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have never been treated so poorly by a nurse practitioner in my life! I had a very serious concern with my body and presented my concerns to the nurse practitioner here. Not only did she brush off ALL of concerns but she belittled me in the process. She didn't take anything I said into consideration and acted like she had somewhere better to be!

She was acting so rushed that when she actually stood up to leave I started to follow her because I thought we were going to do tests or something because there is no way my appointment could be that short! Right before walking out the door she told me that I would get some blood work done, pointed me in the direction of the lab, and left! The RUDEST phlebotomist make a snarky comment to my mom who was just trying to ask a question & then continued to be rude and short with me as well.

After leaving, a couple days later, the nurses called me saying my blood work was done and that I HAD to come into the office to be told the results IVE NEVER HAD THIS BEFORE! I get to the the office just to be told that my results were normal. I had to pay ANOTHER office visit just to be told that? ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY.

This complaint is regarding my experience with Dr. Julia Johansson. Unfortunately, my experience is one I would like to forget. Dr. Johansson showed many signs of her uninterest in my scheduled appointment and treated me with extreme rudeness. Here is a list of complaints both my husband and I have from my appointment from September 11, 2020 with Dr. Julia Johansson: * When she entered the room, she quickly reviewed do's and don'ts, which was super short and fast. Did not leave much room for dialog, more like she had to rush through them and get out of there. * She asked if we had questions and since this is my first pregnancy, I had a list of some questions including diet, exercise, etc. and she practically rolled her eyes at my questions.

She then gave two-word answers to my questions, if that. * I asked her what her c-section rate is, and she said, "at best, 11%". What does that even mean? * When I was on the table getting my vaginal ultrasound, she didn't acknowledge me the entire time. It felt like I was an animal on a table. She didn't even look me in the eye and spoke to my husband the whole time. * We heard my baby's heartbeat for MAYBE 3-seconds and she just said, "yup, you're pregnant" and quickly finished. * She did NOT confirm my due date, all she said was, "you're on track for your due date". * She rushed us out and said to make another appointment and go. So, I quickly changed because I couldn't get out of there fast enough. * As I was walking out, I was stopped by someone else who said I still needed to give blood and I couldn't leave yet.

If it wasn't for that woman in the hallway stopping me, I would have left without a vital part of the appointment completed. * I requested additional testing for chromosomal abnormalities and the doctor did not inquire. * I submitted extensive documentation about my symptoms and Dr. Julia Johansson did not ask or discuss any of those items. She did not ask if I was having any symptoms, how I was feeling or anything of that nature. Frankly, the only question I remember her asking me is if I had questions for her and once I did, she was clearly annoyed with me.

All in all, the experience was terrible. She had a bad attitude and acted as if I was intruding on her, not like I had a scheduled appointment. I assumed there would be a certain level of patient care and it was not received. I did not expect her to be over-the-top excited for me, I'm not in fantasy land, however I did expect her to give a general level of respect.

I WOULD NEVER recommend her and after seeking out recommendations from hundreds of other local moms, I was later warned about her for other inappropriate actions and blatant malpractice to which I'm surprised she still has her license. I've moved facilities completely because I fear if I go into labor, she would be the one on-call and I would not let her touch me or my baby with a 10' pole.

Circle of Life Women's clinic is the closest clinic to me as I live in Wyoming. The clinic is 2.5 hours away. I have heard great things about them and had one good appointment with them a year ago. I have had a year of miscarriages and unable to successfully carry a baby. For my mental health, I scheduled an appointment to find out why my body is having a difficult time conceiving and retaining the pregnancy.

I asked if I could bring my 3 year old special needs son. I informed them that with past experience, leaving my son with a babysitter results in ER visits and hospital stays. Leaving my son with a sitter for 7+ hours is not an option. Her response to me was "We cannot make a special circumstance for you because it will make other moms jealous." Wait. What? Moms with newborns can take them because they need fed, but my special needs son who depends on me for medication and feedings doesn't qualify because it would make other moms jealous?

I was told that I could do a virtual visit instead. What about blood work? ultrasounds? follow up visits? I am being forced to either risk a babysitter killing my 3 year old or to give up on having any more future children because other moms will get jealous. Circle of Life Women's Clinic needs to re-evaluate their policy on guests. Either let them all or not at all. It is too big of a grey area and are now discriminating against mom with disabled children.

The facility is beautiful, but that is the extent of the positives. They are not honest with what is needed for procedures and/or billing. I had a surgical consult in which I could book my surgery. The appointment was a formality, nothing new talked about or learned, then I was given a card to call a scheduler, with no option to do it while there.

I had to call several times to reach her and then was told the doctor was booked out 5 months, when one week prior they said they could pencil me in this month if the scheduler was willing to do so, but she would not do it for me. Then, I was told I would need one more surgical consult a week before, which will have nothing productive accomplished again but see the doctor's face. This is just one example of the run around given to make more money by this company.

I went in and it was beautiful inside but the dr rushed through the appt and wouldn't take time to address any concerns. I asked her about some different birth controls and she got all snobby about it and told me to take the pill. Will not go back. If you want somewhere that you feel safe, it's definitely not here.

If you enjoy being a number and not a patient, this is the place for you. I've been to this office twice and both times, it was jam packed. It's a factory! Originally I had been given a referral to this office and wasn't sure what to expect. The doctor spent barely 10min w/ me and decided that what I needed was a hysterectomy. I was rushed off to the surgery scheduler and BOOM that was it. Wait, what?!

No discussion, no questions, no other options?! My 2nd visit was the Pre-Op appointment. Again this doctor barely spent any time answering questions. My husband came with me and asked a very reasonable legitimate question. This doc dismissed his question in a hurry and seemed annoyed that he was being asked in the first place. After we got home, I called and cancelled the surgery.

It sure seems that this doc is in a hurry to cut ladies open! It may be a very normal common surgery but they sure acted like it was as mundane as brushing their teeth. ALSO the billing was incorrect: I received a bill for my 1st visit and they charged me for the WRONG ultrasound! Clearly they want to pad their fees! The ONLY good thing about this office is the nurses who handled many calls from me.

It was only a few short weeks between my 1st visit and surgery date so I was overwhelmed with questions. They even took the time to call me back when I had questions about my RX meds.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Do not see Dr. Housel! I don't have experience with the other Dr's but this one is an absolute piece of work! I went with my daughter who is expecting high risk twins. She had been having horrible pains all through the night and was concerned something could be wrong. She tried to make an appt with her normal Dr. but he was not there that day.

So We waited one hour to see Dr. Housel. The min he came in you could see the arrogance fuming off of him. Before my daughter could barely open her mouth he proceeded to mockingly tell her that her pains were normal and that there was nothing wrong with the babies. He even smirked as he said it! Then he waved to her to lay back and he would reluctantly check the babies with ultra sound anyway.

My daughter then proceeded to tell how she was in the process of switching doctors because she was moving. He stopped immediately and proceeded to throw what I can only call a tantrum "What! You're switching doctors?! Then why am I even doing this! You can just go there and have them follow up!" He then turned grabbed some paper work and said "I'll send you for some blood work but then you'll just have to follow up with your new dr." and he left.

I was completely dumbfounded I couldn't not believe the treatment. He didn't even check and give her/us piece of mind that every thing was ok with the babies. My daughter was on the verge of tears and I had to contain myself as to not make things worse. Which I regret now! Thankfully nothing was wrong with the babies but if there had been we wouldn't have hesitated to take action against this So called Dr.

I hope women will expect better and never allow this kind of treatment in their care! Due to this horrible experience Never again will we step foot or allow anyone else we know to step foot into this circle of life center!

I'm 60 years old and hadn't had a Gyno visit for about 5 years, I thought it was time, so I made an appointment to see Kathleen Mark. I was greeted by the front desk very professionally and taken back to be weighed. I waited in the exam room for only about 10 minutes, then Kathleen came in. She was so nice and concerned about everything I had to say, she really listened to me.

She was very thorough, gentle and explained everything to me that she was going to do. She let me speak and let me explain my concerns to her. She is professional and kind and has a wonderful bedside manner and a fun sense of humor, (which I really appreciate and loved about her.) I will be back in one year if not sooner. I need to reiterate, that she is VERY THOROUGH and took a good amount of time with me!

If she has any questions or concerns, she will have tests run or will refer you to another Dr. I loved my experience there. The only reason why I didn't give it a full 5 star, is because the 'in office' Lab Corp phlebotomist acted put out at me for having her draw my labs when I guess I should have gone to other 'in office' lab! (I didn't know about another lab.) All in all, it was good experience and I have referred two of my daughters and a friend there.

If you like just being a name in the computer with no personal approach to patient care this is the ideal place for you. They just herd you around like cattle and with very little customer service. It was my first time here I was very disappointed with my visit and will not be returning. I don't know what was more bothersome, the fact that my appointment almost got cancelled because I didn't have my cell to receive a text that the nurse was ready for me even though I was in the office waiting, the fact that the NP I saw took no time to look at my chart for a medical history and was shocked when I told her verbally and asked questions (keep in mind they made sure I filled out ALL 7 PAGES of new patient paperwork) or the fact it was a early morning appointment and the NP I saw looked liked she had just rolled out of bed and looked very unprofessional and rushed through my examine and was very annoyed when I asked questions.

Never got any answers before I was rushed out with no idea what my next steps are as a follow up. I will be taking my Lady business to an office that has actual communication with me.

I heard good things about this place so I scheduled a simple Pap smear well check (made sure my insurance was accepted by their doctors first). Then a couple weeks later I get a bill from the lab they sent my Pap smear to and the lab didn't accept my insurance and I got slapped with a $350 bill! For a Pap smear?! Come ON! I argued with the billing department from the circle of life center and the lab center and the only thing that came out of it was that the lab felt sorry for me and discounted my bill down to $100, gee thanks.

Hey Circle of Life, do you think you could let your patients know that the only lab you send tests to might not be covered by your insurance? You might retain a better reputation.just saying

I had heard wonderful things about this facility so I decided to try it out for my annual check up. The lady making my initial appointment was very helpful with directing me to someone who would be able to answer my questions regarding starting a family. Once my appointment date came, I was greeted and directed to have a seat until the registration person came to get me.

The facility was calm and relaxing. I then went back for registration and was notified that the NP I was seeing was running 30 min behind, not a big deal. I sat back out in the waiting area for about another 60 minutes until I was taken back for the basic stats check then taken into a room where I sat for another 40 minutes -just waiting nervously.

When the NP (I'm assuming that's who it was, she didn't introduce herself) finally came in, she was very quick, didn't explain anything except for a minor (surprise) cramp. She just recommended I start taking prenatals (which was already disclosed in my chart). She didn't ask if I had any questions about starting my family or recommending what Dr to see once I am at that time in my life. Really disappointed because I went there for answers to a lot of questions and I left not knowing where to go next.

Front office staff and nursing staff were excellent. Very proficient. This facility seems to cator more to pregnancy rather than overall women's health. If your past the age of procreation I would advise finding another facility for your health care needs. The doctor was rude and gave me a rather terrifying run down on hysterectomy procedures.

Then told me that was my only option. I went in for a yearly, which was never performed. I was rushed out the door and a card to schedule surgery was shoved in my hand as I was abruptly dismissed. I have truly never experienced a more horrible bed side manner in a physician. I am left to assume my health was of little interest as I am not planning on having more children.

Decent front staff, FANTASTIC play area for kids. Crowded and busy, a real factory. I saw Dr. Davis for 2 c section deliveries. I got some prescriptions by phone, that was very convenient. I appreciated that the visits were short, I was in and out in 20 minutes usually. He's very efficient, I rarely waited for my appointments! For the first delivery, he was accommodating to consider an attempting a vbac even though we both knew the chances for success were low.

He did have to perform a c section, in a bit of a rush because the baby wasn't doing well. He cut the baby on the shoulder, a very small slice. I understand this is a risk, and can happen sometimes. This is not he reason for the lower rating. I chose to see him again for the second c section, but wish I had not. He's good at his job, and fast and efficient, but his "bedside manner" is somewhat lacking.

I experienced some anxiety about each c section which he didn't seem to want to discuss. I also think because he knew I would not be coming back after the second c section he was less invested in making it a good experience.

I went to this office because I was pregnant and my previous provider retired. I saw Kathleen Mark. On my first visit, I learned my pregnancy had likely ended in a miscarriage. She lacked a bedside manner and kept referring to me as 'hon' or 'sweetie' (never by my actual name) to tell me there was no heartbeat. It took TEN excruciating days for results to get back for a HCG test.

This is a THREE day test but their labs were backed up. Called the nurses several times and was reassured all my miscarriage symptoms and concerns were normal. NEVER heard from Kathleen. Finally insisted on a follow-up appointment a month later but because I wasn't 'pregnant' I could only be seen on limited days and hours and not during the more convenient hours available to pregnant patients.

At the appointment, Kathleen told me it was MY fault I hadn't fully miscarried and had listened to the nurses' advice (which she hastily said was bad advice). Despite being severely anemic and profoundly speechless, I will never forget her recommendation for a D&C at the surgical center in the basement of the building, "he's not good for other things but for this he would PROBABLY be okay." Their waiting area was dimly lit and full of worn furniture.

The waiting times were long. The urine collection process involved walking out of a stall to deposit it in a shared box in an open area. Nurses clearly lack training and don't communicate with the midwives or docs in the office. Ladies, you deserve a QUALITY medical provider who genuinely cares about you, actually KNOWS your name to deliver bad news, and will refer you to doctors who could do more than 'probably' help you. Avoid Circle of Life Women's Center!

Not sure why I didn't write a review after I had my first baby. If you are in the Ogden/Layton/Kaysville area, you need to switch doctors and come here. Dr. Bierer delivered my baby last August and I can't praise him enough. He is so calm, patient and understanding. He will take all the time in the world to answer your questions and make sure you feel comfortable.

They take 3D ultrasounds at EVERY visit. Say what!? No extra charge and put it all on a CD for you. I am now pregnant again and it seriously makes me want to cry knowing he can't deliver my next one because we moved out of state. I give him 10 stars!

I have been going to this office for almost ten years. And after my phone conversation with Cassie at the front desk, this morning I am DONE. They are decent with prenatal care but when it comes down to birth control you can dream on about getting decent assistance. I called over an IUD being dislodged and informed them this has happened twice before and she said it wasn't an emergency to her and I was welcome to call back later to see if a nurse wanted to get me in last minute. Please. Go ANYWHERE ELSE for routine care! Or don't wait ten years like me. :-/

Every single woman in the Ogden area should switch doctors immediately and make their way to this wonderful place! I recently moved away from the area and I am SO sorry that I will not be able to come here for pre- and post-natal visits for my second child. Karen McBride was my nurse midwife for my first child and also for subsequent GYN visits and I just loved everything about her.

She was knowledgeable, funny, caring, and attentive. Everything I could have asked for. She helped me through a miscarriage and D&C and then through the birth of my first child. The labor and delivery with my first was complicated, and I ended up having an emergency c-section after 30 hours of labor. Dr. Johansson actually performed the procedure with Karen there too, and I can also say that Dr. Johansson is amazing.

They both took such good care of me AND my husband. (That's another positive thing about Karen - in every appointment she made sure my husband was also OK and didn't have any questions. The place I go to now barely even acknowledges him!) The actual office facility is amazing. It's comfortable but modern. The staff is all incredibly friendly. I wish that I could transplant this place to the state I live in now just so I could continue to go there!

Ladies. If you need a OBGYN, this is the place to go. Let me heap praise on how magnificent the services are at Circle Of Life! Dr. Julia Johansson is my doctor. She delivered two of my kids. And has continued to care for me in the years since. First of all, the offices are architectural masterpieces. It's set up like a cozy (yet spacious) lodge.

The logistics, when it comes to running this place, are like a well-oiled machine. Everything is so efficient. The front desk-staff, and nurses are all friendly & discreet. ALL of the physicians/midwife's are fantastic too. Dr. Johansson is my favorite. The most important thing, for me, and the main reason I won't go anywhere else for services: is that they employ the best phlebotomist's here! I hate needles, so having my bloodwork done by the best, is paramount to me. All-around great office!
