I had a very bad experience with her, I wouldn't recommend anyone to see her! 1. She didn't do what she promised. During the visit, she promised that she would send the prescription to my pharmacy, but the pharmacy told me that they did not receive it. 2. Be careful she will bill you if you message her on my chart, because I didn't receive the prescription, I messaged her, wanted to confirm if she sends the meds to the correct pharmacy.

Then I'm billed. 3. It is very difficult to communicate with her clinic, the front desk not knowledgeable, cannot answer any of your basic questions, and keeps asking your name, even if you tell her many times, she will still forget after a few minutes. 4. You will receive endless letters urging you to pay. Even if you've already paid, their system may not update and continue to bombard you.

I got neighbor's referral for Dr. Jane, and I liked her style. She is fast and precise. She would ask you many detailed questions to understand what you are going through, and do a thorough check before giving you any conclusion. Her explanation is very clear as well. I like her.

I was scheduled for my annual physical today and Dr Chien wanted to charge me. I called back in April to make this appointment today and she charged me for my preventative back in April. I asked back in April why we had to have an introduction call before my annual physical and she said it was due to Covid and her office staff at that time said I would not be charged for my appointment in August or the phone call in April.

It did not make sense but I just went along with it. After her assisitant took my blood pressure and etc. Dr. Chien called me on my cell phone to tell me she was going to charge me for today's visit. I thought this was bizarre! No annual physical today for me as planned. Dr Chien is extremely unprofessional and rude!

I was excited to have my first appointment with Dr. Chien today and she started by calling me while I was in her exam room to let me know she was going to charge me for my annual physical. It did not make sense because annual physicals are preventative and you get one wellness check a year. She was extremely rude and unprofessional!

I made an appointment for annual physical months ago and arrived at the clinic. Dr Chien refused to provide annual physical in-person on me, because I am a nurse taking care of Covid patients. Even if I am COVID-19 negative and asymptomatic, she would only do tele-consultation (consultation over video). I am utterly disappointed.

Even though I have had my good share of doctors over the years, Dr. Chien is the best doctor I have ever had. I would have given her 6 stars if I could in a 1-5 star system. Among the things for which I like about her, the following stands out: She always listens and answers/explains to my health concerns with patience and understanding in an efficient way.

She is very professional with her vast and up-to-date medical knowledge when she treats me. She would order tests and /or refer me to specialists whenever deemed appropriate based on her good judgment. She follows up with an e-mail to me with her take on the tests results, and indicates the next step to take to address the specific concern. She always replies to my e-mails promptly.

Two of the e-mails I got back from her were written at 3:29am and 6:42am! Recently I sent an e-mail to her on a Friday night before the long holidays. I got the answer back the next day with detailed instructions. That really eased my mind. Her caring and dedication are simply impressive. Every time I saw her, she's always energetic and focused toward her patients like my husband and me. Furthermore, her office staffs are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend her to my family members and friends without any hesitation. I feel so lucky that I have found a good doctor like her.

This review is regarding the office staff competency. I have been trying to pay a bill for quite some time now. If I was lucky enough to get through to a live person, that person didn't know how to do a credit card payment. She couldn't find the drawer either. The phone recording says to press #3 for billing, but when you press 3, you get someone who speaks terrible English and tells you he isn't the billing department.

I asked him why the recording says to press #3 then. He tells me to press #2 for the receptionist, so I did that and that was a fiasco. Could not get that done. Will have to do things the old fashioned way and mail in a check. Even tried the week later to get a live person on the phone, the bill says to call between 9-5:30, have been calling since 9:00, with more recordings that they are not there. Office staff is incompetent. Will have to switch doctors, this just will not work. Imaging if I was really sick and needed to get through. Unacceptable.

Jane Chien MD has been my primary care physician since 1998. She has gotten my blood pressure, cholesterol, and prostate under control. I see her every six months and we review the results of my blood tests and other tests that have been performed. She patiently listens to my list of concerns and offers astute advice and prescribes suitable treatment. I trust her with my life.

I started to see Dr Chien in 2013 for my high blood pressure problem, and she suggested me DASH (dietary approaches to stop hypertension) diet, which worked well for me. She is sharp and precise on my health concerns and I feel good having her as my primary doctor.

I went to this doctor many years ago and what they are saying on this board it is true; she does not leave the computer and does not care about the patients. I went for one visit and knew she was not for me. I do not know why she is still practicing. I am so surprised that Stanford Heath Care keeps her.

I saw her because my Primary Care Physician is out. I had to see a doctor because I had messed up my back and was in great pain. First of all, she was running 40 minutes late. Then when I finally saw her, she has terrible bedside manner and very condescending. Would NOT recommend her to anyone.

Jane Chien is the absolute worst example of today's medical profession. She is completely ignorant in dealing with the special needs of her patients and is absolutely arrogant towards family members trying to explain and steward the healthcare needs of their incapacitated relatives. Chien's brazen lack of compassion for her patients and the supporting family is beyond all comprehension and I have never encountered this level of callousness from any other practicing Physician. Chien is no longer tending our family's healthcare needs.

I made this decision for numerous reasons, but the last straw was due to her inability to correct my Coumadin INR levels after four months of repeated testing with only sporadic changes in the medication dosage. I went to the Heart Associates Coumadin Clinic and they had my INR levels back into a normal range in just five days and have kept it under control ever since. Is Chien incompetent or just uninterested in her patient's welfare? You decide, either way, it is the patient who suffers the consequences.

I have been seeing Dr. Chien for most of my life (I am 30). After reading the other reviews about her, I have to say I disagree. She is very intelligent and asks all the right questions to identify the issue. It is true that she is quick to get out the door, but that is because she is in such high demand. She referred a great gyno that I have been going to for years and couldn't live without.

She is quick and to the point just how a professional doctor should be. She was my parents' doctor, and now mine, and will someday be my childrens' as well. I would recommend her if you want a serious, intelligent doctor who knows exactly what she is doing. I have never thought of leaving her for another general practitioner.

My husband and I have been cared by Dr. Jane for almost a decade. She is sharp, quick, and very precise on any health issue. Her examination is always beyond what we are consulting her for. Once she recognized my husband's skin cancer -- a little dot on the face while he was for his annual check-up. She prompted him to see the dermatologist immediately.

When we are with her, she examines us from head to toe without begging for. In regarding to the communication, we love her use of technology. When we are in doubt of our occurred health problem, we email her first - describe symptom and sometimes attaching the picture to the email. She replies back promptly suggesting the necessity to see her or not. Also, we can access our health records and lab results through MyHealth website. It's convenient. We have been through many internal doctor in the past. Dr. Chien is one among many best! I trust her my whole heart.

I have been going to Dr. Chien for almost 15 years, because that is who my mother went to. I very rarely ever need to see a doctor, but when I do, I expect to get a little bit of compassion and understanding. I went in a year ago to have a lump on my wrist looked at. As expected, she took one look at it and said it is just a ball of fat and that it happens with age.

And rushed out the door. This is how every appointment seems to go and I absolutely dread having to make an appointment, but having to look for a new doctor is a tedious process. The lump has since began to push against the vein it resides next too and is causing numbness in my hand. Time to move on from the lack of beside manner and find someone who actually cares about the well being of their patients.

I like Dr. Chien as a person, and second the recommendation for her as a primary care doctor. Stanford educated, brilliant and committed physician, very sincere. She is also easy to talk with, and very personable. You're sure to like her as a person and a provider. Highly recommend.

I actually liked Dr. Chien when I met her. Her office staff was pleasant also. However in the past month I have tried to reach her because I needed my medication adjusted and I can't reach her office at all! I call and no one answers the phone and I leave messages and no one returns my calls. I'm not sure if the Dr. is aware that her office staff are basically going to ruin her business by not taking care of her patients. I'm sorry to say that I will no longer be her patient.

Horrible bedside manner. Overly eager to get you in and out. Speaks to patients in a condescending manner. Would NOT recommend her to anyone that wants a doctor that cares to listen. Will not be going back to her.

Dr. Chien can't wait to rush her patients out the door, doesn't talk to you other than typing on her compurter while you talk. She won't perscribe anything, everything is "over the counter" (I assumed she feared liabilty, she played safe.) Very difficult to gain access to the doctor, I ended up in the emergency room with the $4,867.00 bill. Had she agreed to talk to me over the phone, I could've avoid the emergency trip that turned out to be just gas pain.

I don't recommend this doctor at all! She doesn't care about your well being. She's always in the hurry to rush you out the door so she can rush the next patient out the door.

I researched her education background before choosing her. I probably should have yelped her instead. I had the worst experience at her office. I can live with okay chair side manner but, incompetence is another thing. I just did not feel like she cared about me. And secondly her office staff is clueless. First, they did not follow up with me after my appt.

I called for my test results but the doctor was unavailable. A staff person called me back with my test results but she did not know what they meant. My doctor should be calling me with my results! My previous doctors have always called me with my results. Secondly, they rescheduled my follow up appt and then when I came in, they were all confused about why I was there. They thought my appt was for another day and then they had no clue what my appt was for. Needless to say I am never coming back.

Dr. Chien, in addition to violating patient confidentiality, also has her yelp rating scoured. I had this review up before, and it was removed. She reported patient to the DMV for 'unsafe neurological condition'. I had a food allergy that made me dizzy. Rather than diagnosing the condition and making a reasonable determination, she simply had my license revoked. Avoid Dr. Chien at all costs.
