BMS will provide our customers with compassionate care, quality equipment, and exceptional customer service. To be the most respected national provider of home medical equipment and services by maintaining the utmost quality and professionalism. To provide prompt, reliable, and effective home care products and services appropriate for each individual's needs, health and safety.
Boardman Medical Supply Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Sateri Inc., is a privately owned and operated durable medical equipment company serving Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Northern West Virginia. Felix and the former Theresa Savon established BMS in 1982. Robin S. Ivany, Felix and Theresa's daughter, helped start the company and now serves as it's Vice President and General Manager.
All home medical supply companies are NOT the same. The quality of home care can differ significantly from one organization to another. The State of Ohio has established licensure laws governing these types of companies. These rules establish the minimum requirements for operating a DME (durable medical equipment) company.
Robin is the Vice President/General Manager of BMS. Robin is responsible for the general operations of the company and the day-to-day activities. She is in charge of all the managers and refers to them as "the best group of supervisors that anyone could ever ask for!" Robin and her parents started BMS over thirty-five years ago.

DO NOT USE BMS. I have always heard poor feedback from my clients on their customer service, but until last week I've never had the misfortune of using them. What should have been a simple COVID test, turned into a communication nightmare, or rather a non-communication problem. One, don't offer 2-3 day results if in can't realistically takes a week or more; there are other businesses who will get it done. Two, don't tell me you'll call and then fail to do so. Three, you really should let people know the sender name if you are not using your business name. Sub-par customer service; not even worth 1 star.

I called for a COVID test and the receptionist told me it's $40.00 for them to do it there. Everyone else in the area is doing it for free (charging your insurance company or the federal program for the uninsured). When I asked about why, the receptionist avoided answering the question and didn't offer to process via insurance/the fed program, then quickly hung up the phone (while being 'polite').

I'm assuming that they take money from both your pocket and the fed program to process a $25 rapid test you can buy yourself at a local pharmacy. Rude receptionist (but talked nice as if she's practiced at getting rid of people in a way that makes her appear pleasant to others sitting around her).

They definitely have a customer service issue. They never answer their phone, or you are constantly in a loop of recording how important you are to them, only to be cut off. Then you have to redial and start over. Once you reach someone, it doesn't get any better. I usually call the Gerad warehouse to reorder Cpap supplies. It's been 5 years now, and they usually give me a hassle over the phone.

They can't order what you want, they can't order a specific mask.oh, " maybe you would like something we have in stock." Really? They can't ship supplies.you have to pick them up. I'm at a point of needing a new machine, but don't want to put up with their nonsense. Looking elsewhere!

I will try to make my review as short as possible but it's very difficult without leaving important information Im aware bad reviews can hurt a business but I can't just left this unsaid I tried to get a new cpap machine threw my insurance and had recently switched medical supply companies to Boardman ms for the fact that hcs had become defunct in my area they told me the way my insurance was my cpap needed to be older than 5 years yes broke indeed it was broke because it was shorting out on the inside so the machine would randomly turn off back on so i called the repair / parts dept spoke to Diane she informed me just tell her what the issue was with my cpap i told her it has a short inside she said i didn't have to bring it in (remember this part )she would write a letter or have a letter written with cost of repair and i mentioned make sure in the letter includes the age of machine that it's older than 5 years so this was in May so the end of June i call just to be sent from VM to VM which says leave name and number i say who i am that i am waiting for a response about cpap mind you my job is a driving job so i need a good nights sleep without a working cpap this doesn't happen so after VM tag which you never get anyone at all that's all you do is leave VM after VM and barely get called back anyway the end of July btw this all started in the month of May i get a call about your insurance company denied you but " we do have a sister company that sells used medical equipment" so i call them ask why i was denied they say we don't know i said did you call and ask why they said no more or less without saying no so i thought this is strange i call my insurance company so at this point I'm doing their work and ask they said they didnt have a correct letter so i thought maybe my insurance company was being picky and called bms and told them the letter to them was wrong according to them they said we will tell "them" i guess whoever wrote the letter i said call them and ask what is needed. at least 3 wks pass and i call them what's going on with the resubmission of said letter they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about at this time they tell me to call theresa at her ext.

I call and nothing still gets done I'm very frustrated at this point i call my insurance company back i ask them what was wrong with the letter they submited they told me there was no cost of repair submitted there was no explanation of how old the machine was so pretty much the letter they told me needed these things had none so i call Theresa back a few times with no response and then eventually i get her i get a brief pause and i get hold on at this point i get another VM after i supposed to be forwarded to i think Kelly I'm not sure of the name i feel rushed off phone and not sure I'm not doing a unreturned VM so i call back this time i get Diane i explain to her the letter incorrect according to my insurance company she then cuts me off and acts like she's trying to quickly get me off the phone she says oh i remember you bringing your machine into me to get looked at it needs a psb board power supply board i think it's 360 dollars your insurance company denied it i said because the letter was wrong i said unfortunately the letter was wrong and i think i might have made a mistake choosing you guys to handle this I said you just need to resubmit said letter with correct information and no i did not bring my machine in you told me it wasn't necessary so telling me you remember looking at my machine is a trust issue because it never happened.

She said you know what i mean i described what the machine needed instead of arguing i explained maybe i need to switch supply companies whats puzzling me she says maybe you should. So that's what i did i switched to a supply company in Ravenna starting with M to be sure i don't show biased i will just say that i told them on Aug 28th I've had problems with Boardman ms and talking to my insurance Sept 4th i have a new dream machine cpap less than a week!

Great place but extremely hard to get a hold of them lately. When I call for anything in this past month. May of 2019, It's a long wait and then defaults to a voicemail even if you would rather wait. You have no choice anymore but to leave a voicemail. And I've been calling for 3 days straight and have yet to receive a call back. I guess to get service now, one must drive there.

I've had an order there since 4/29 and didn't even know my doctor got it approved through insurance. I suppose she thought they'd contact me. When I called Dr back to find out status, she said its ready at Boardman Medical Supply. News to me. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I really need it. I will just drive there Tues. I've never had these problems with them before, I had a CPAP and supplies for years through them and I have a hospital bed through them.so that's why I still gave them 3 stars.

In the past, I would have given them 5. They've been fantastic in the past 5-6 years I've dealt with them. So sad currently. I hope they work it out. Maybe its a shortage of staff. I hope they realize what's happening. I will share my experience Tues. (Nicely) Perhaps they are not even aware of this. They deserve the benefit of the doubt as this is only a recent issue. Once its addressed, I will change my post to 5 stars.

Had to rent a wheelchair following my surgery - the staff was wonderful. Would use them again as well as recommend them.
