After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years. After his honorable discharge, Dr. Nawas obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi where he received highest honors.

Dr. Nawas specializes in Advanced Technology Cataract Surgery and Intraocular Lens Implants. He is trained in the latest technology in LASIK laser vision correction - Allegretto Wavelight IQ and Femtosecond 200. He also provides Comprehensive Eye Exams for patients ages six and up and treats many diseases of the eye including Glaucoma, Dry Eye and Diabetes.

Most people develop cataracts simply as a result of aging, with the majority of cases occurring in people over the age of 55. Over 1.2 million Americans are diagnosed with cataracts each year. Other risk factors include eye injury or disease, a family history of cataracts, smoking or use of certain medications.
When you smile, laugh, frown, or look puzzled, you contract the muscles of your face. Over time, these contractions produce permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes and mouth, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead.
