Manual therapy is a category of physical therapy treatment encompassing a variety of hands-on techniques. It can be used to increase range of motion, facilitate movement, reduce inflammation and promote soft tissue repair. A wide variety of treatments fall under the manual therapy umbrella, but the common thread is that they all involve direct contact from the therapist, with or without using a supplemental tool.
Physical therapy, as part of a neurological care plan, helps to keep you active and independent as possible with special exercises and techniques to combat symptoms of your condition. Aaron Shaver is the best pt I have been to in my life. He is appropriate with pushing on the exercises, rehab and not looking for extra visits. He wants what is best for his patients. Highly recommend him and the program. Have worked with therapists in other offices.

On October 7, 2021, I was involved in a head-on collision. My extensive injuries required both physical therapy and occupational therapy. Dr. Gagliano from Boulder Bone & Joint referred me to North Boulder Physical Therapy, and I am so glad he did! Mary Kay, the hand specialist, was amazing. She got my right hand from being almost completely open (unable to bend my fingers!) to me being able to close my fist almost entirely!

My physical therapist was Macy, and her work with my shattered right ankle and heel was astounding. I highly recommend North Boulder Physical Therapy. In addition to Mary Kay and Macy, their team of assistants (Nick and Marco and others!) and the front desk staff (especially Selma!) were friendly, helpful and encouraging on each visit. I was a patient there from December 2021 through April 2022, and could not be more grateful. They saw me go from wheelchair to hemi-walker to cane to unassisted walking! I don't know where I would be today without their diligence and encouragement!

This was the first time I've gone to PT where I feel they really understood my issues and gave me tangible ways to fix them. Rani has been wonderful to work with - understanding, kind, and great at what she does. The whole staff is super friendly and helpful. Thank you!

I wish I had not waited to start PT for a shoulder injury. I'm so happy with the results at North Boulder PT. The in-office and at-home treatment plans were tailored to my needs and I was able to quickly see the progression of healing and strength. Matt and Tracy are exceptional therapists. At each appointment, they were aware of where I had left off and what needed work.

They were always gathering feedback and changing or adding to my plan. We worked through pain management in the beginning to strengthening towards the end. Scheduling appointments was easy and there were always time slots available when I needed them. The online at-home portal is also a user-friendly resource if you forget how to do a certain exercise.

This was my first time to have physical therapy at any location. North Boulder PT is very easily accessible, has great parking, and has a very new indoor look. My therapist Macy is very personable, knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions easily. She came up with an excellent set of exercises for me adjusting them as I progressed. It's a pleasure to attend my sessions here and also the PT assistants and receptionist are great as well

Came in with a litany of injuries, most of which were sustained due to overuse + rock climbing and hiking long distances. While not a "climbing specific" practice, if you are able to communicate pain levels/cause-and-effect/what does/doesn't cause pain, the PT's here are sharp and will develop a unique regimen of activity-specific exercises. Super impressed by the professionalism and technical prowess displayed by Rani, Marco, Nick, Sam, and the other PTs who worked with me.

The willingness to deep-dive and explain anatomy was much appreciated as well. If I were to injure myself again the disappointment would be largely tempered by the knowledge that i'd get to work with these wonderful people again :. Very thankful for the opportunity, cannot recommend highly enough.

I found NoBo PT about a month after a bad couple of falls. You know how you can get a really good temperature reading on the degree of friendliness just via booking an appointment? Everyone there is so friendly! The natural light is amazing. There's usually great music, that's relaxing and not intrusive. The PT equipment is engaging and effective. And my Physical Therapist, Chelsea, was awesome. So skillful and really intuitive. Highly recommend!

Jordan at NBPT helped me improve mobility in my shoulder and helped me develop a much better awareness of my posture and the movement patterns I was using in my upper back and neck. She has a wide range of skills and approaches to PT. It has changed how I carry myself and I expect I will continue to apply the lessons learned going forward to continue improving.

The staff there is very friendly and helpful, and sincerely invested in their patients progress and success. My wife also goes there and we strongly recommend the excellent team.

Went to the Westminister branch. The therapists were fabulous but the front desk staff was horribly rude and incompetent. I have a no deductible insurance and I'm sure without checking they demanded full payment. I paid, then was later informed by my insurance that this branch owed me a refund. Getting the refund has been a nightmare. They still won't pay up.

Would not recommend for a sports injury, especially on the hip. Techs and front staff were very nice and welcoming. The DR though, was fixated on treating the symptoms while the underlying cause was worsening. Repeatedly was requesting to get imaging prescribed or my injury reassessed but they were more concerned with increasing my strength numbers.

I had complained of this pain 2 weeks into a 2 month program and was repeatedly gaslighted until the end. Couldn't return to the activity I loved but I could pass all the same tests they give the other geriatric patients that frequent. Also they charge additional for bands, c'mon!

They put me on a machine and left me. Then the pt showed me a couple of exercises. The pt was pissed that I wasn't demonstrating more strength. I stopped going after the 3rd non-tx. They charge $150 a session for nothing. I switched to Pace West PT who have really helped and are interested in my rehab.

I received excellent care from the therapist I saw. However, their billing practices are questionable at best. I was quoted a cash price which was reasonable, however it was run through insurance which was 3-4x more expensive per visit over the quoted cash price per session. They billed me for many visits before I was aware of the issue.

I've had four separate post surgery physical therapy treatments here for knees and a shoulder. The staff is always very professional, competent, considerate and kind. I'm so much stronger now then I was before my surgeries and my quality of life improved 1000%. I have recommended them to several friends and family; everyone has given me glowing reviews after their treatments. Thanks NBPT

I've been seeing Doug at NBPT for the past few years. He is amazing! After having seen several physical therapists over the 30 years I've in Boulder for various reasons, Doug is the most thorough, professional and compassionate Physical Therapist I've worked with. Of course I have to give kudos to the Front Desk staff for their ability to accommodate my crazy schedule appointment-wise, as I am self-employed and it changes from one week to the next.

Also - I need new orthotics as mine are really old. When I did a search for them in the Boulder area, I was thrilled to learn the NBPT makes them! Did I mention that they have this really cool saltwater fishtank in the waiting room.

I've come and seen various PTs here through the years. I chose them because they offered many therapists and had early hours. They're credentials seemed good on website. They are very busy and in time my treatments went from being very focused to rushed if not started late and ended early. Don't know if they over book the therapists or what problem is.

At the end, the PT assistant ends up giving the better treatment, more relaxed, detailed and patient. Also, spent more time reviewing homework than doing work in office. I didn't like taking time from work for that. I think if they slowed down with each patient it would be better. I am in process of needing PT for new injury but will look around a bit.

This is a very professional, pleasing place to have physical therapy. The staff is friendly and always remembers my name. I have gone there for over ten years and seen several therapists during that time. I would not hesitate to recommend to a friend.

I had a wonderful experience at North Boulder Physical Therapy. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The physical therapists were all very skilled and helped my through my injury. They were able to explain to me what the problem was and how to go about improving it. The staff all new who I was and was very welcoming each time I came in. I also thought the facility was big and beautiful!
