Having been transferred here from another hospital for an emergency surgery we were more than impressed with the entire staff at every level! Every staff member we encountered was top notch and more than polite and professional. The room we were in was downright beautiful and extremely clean.

I have had several stays in Virginia Hospital Center. I have also visited the emergency room on several occasions for myself and for other family members. Overall this is an excellent health care facility. My husband also works there out of the offices of Virginia cancer specialist. We have several dealings with this facility and therefore we can make an accurate review.

I would like to tell you a story about this wonderful hospital staff that I saw in action a few days after I delivered my child. My son was in NICCU to help monitor his vitals. My husband and I went home but returned several times a day to visit with our son. My husband dropped me off at the front of the birthing Center while he parked the car. I observed a security guard outside helping a woman who looked as though she was in pain and in labor.

I did not know exactly what was going on but I knew there was an emergency. As I walked inside, I asked another person at the desk to sound the alarm for help. In about 30 seconds I saw about 20 Health professionals running outside. They were developing a plan as they were running. My son was born on April 30, 2021 and we were still in the middle of Covid-19.

I heard one doctor say please grab gloves and some other things as they were running out the door. They were mindful of safety in that desperate moment. Honestly it was just like something out of the movies. You know that scene on so many shows where the lady is having the baby and rushing into the hospital? That is exactly what happened but the medical staff responded with an urgency like they were delivering a member of their own family.

I was extremely impressed. I was sitting in a wheelchair waiting for my husband. They were even checking to make sure I was okay and not in labor. They were able to get the lady in labor in a wheelchair. When they rolled her in there was a nurse holding the head that was dropping out. The lady was in a kneeling position on her knees in the chair. Everyone was communicating with each other about what room and what floor everyone was headed to.

I don't know the outcome of the situation but I told everyone who would listen that day how impressive these actions were. I had an amazing experience with the hospital staff as they delivered my baby. I also have to give credit to Kaiser Permanente because they were the doctors on call helping me through a very long and hard labor. The nurses were absolutely wonderful and professional.

There was a lot of blood and bodily fluids and nothing scared them. I'm not sure if it was normal but there were many babies being born while I was in the hospital. The nurses gave me updates and the entire team came to let me know that they were in support of anything that I needed while I was there. I cannot remember the name of all of the workers that I saw but everyone did an amazing job.

I had postpartum preeclampsia and I had to return to the hospital a few days after I gave birth. I was there for at least three or four days. I was extremely sad because I was not with my baby or my family. But the hospital staff did everything they could do to make me comfortable and get me well so I can get home to my newborn. Lastly, I have had two surgeries to remove thyroid cancer at this facility.

They were extremely scary times in my life and I needed the support of understanding and capable professionals. My last surgery was on April 14, 2022. My experience was the exact same and I had great care. If someone gives a bad review of an experience that they had in the hospital then it probably had to do with the wait at the emergency room. It tends to be very long.

But I cannot blame they OK facility for the shortage of staff in a crisis. There were Covid times and almost everyone was had some type of sickness in their family. The only negative thing that I have to say about the facility is that the food is not good. The food service workers were absolutely kind and helpful. However someone needs to take a look at the quality of the food. But overall 5 stars!

Reviewing as a current admitted patient (4/28/2022) because the service has been wonderful so far (and I'm bored). The staff ranging from the (ICU) nurses, phlebotomist, room service, housecleaning, and any other position (too many to remember), each and every one has been kind and courteous so far. The nurses in particular do their best to make sure your accommodations are comfortable and easy.

I was admitted due to diabetic ketoacidosis due to my body sudden halt in producing insulin. The staff was quick and punctual in making sure that my vitals were stable and that I was receiving enough insulin and fluids. The staff in charge of educating new diabetics really hammered it down in what to expect when living a diabetic lifestyle no matter how basic, but emphasized how it's manageable which I completely believe before being diabetic.

As for visiting patients, my family had no trouble in seeing me to check up on me or bringing some toiletries. Though, they did have to wear gowns, gloves, and face masks(obviously) due to fear of bacterial infection which was completely understandable. Overall, my current stay and near discharge has been pleasant. If there was one complaint that you'd like to hear, it's that the nurses at one point have had trouble finding a suitable vein for an IV. BUT, that is due to me and family having small veins in particular and in no part blame the nurses in any way.

I have been a guest at this resort for a few days. While the recreation opportunities are limited (no hot tubs or tennis courts), the staff is overly attentive. All joking aside, I was transported here because another facility didn't have the equipment to assist my situation. I found the staff at this hospital not only to be extremely friendly and attentive, they were also extremely capable. While I don't spend too much time in hospitals, I have found my care here to be exceptional.

I'm getting knee replacement surgery and everyone has been so nice, helpful and responsive. Any surgery can be a very stressful process. It's important to enter into it with a calm spirit and the energy from the OrthoVirginia family gives you that exact feeling. Everyone has been excellent.

My mother spent a few days in the ICU. While the help she got was very good, my review is more based on my own personal experience. I was simply trying to catch some sleep in the lobby over-night, and every single night I was here i had a security team of 4+ guards wake me up and surround me, saying I was not allowed to be there. I was even told by a supervisor I could stay there, and still have been getting harassed by security for wanting to be close to my loved one.

Not to mention witnessing this guard do the same thing I was doing (see picture). I cannot believe that this hospital's policy is to harass and wake up people who are on little to no sleep, just for falling asleep in a chair in the lobby.

It was wonderful! After signing in, my name was called within 1 minute! There was a very tall gentleman who processed me in and took my labs! I am sorry that I forgot his name (he was tan complected like me) but he was exceptional! I will always remember his kindness & patience with me (and my veins!)! I was in the clinic on Monday December 13, 2021 at 0830 hrs.

He truly deserves a bonus and a raise! I always panic when I have to have blood drawn because I have "rolling veins" and usually end up with bruises on both wrists and hands. He made it so easy and he was quickly able to access the blood that was needed for my labs! Thank you for hiring him!

Dr Jha, endocrinologist office on the 4th floor, there is only a 5 to10 minute grace period but it should be a 15 to 20 min grace period. First of all the Dr. Office is inside the hospital, and due to COVID-19 only 4 to the elevator. The parking lot is not that big and people are parked over the line. If you have an appointment here, please get here 20 to 30 minutes before your appointment.
