Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy treatment that teaches people how to recognize and change harmful or troubling thought patterns that affect their behavior and emotions. CBT identifies these thoughts, challenges them, and replaces them with more objective, realistic ones.

I'm very glad I reached out for help from this psychology group. I was dealing with a lot of life transitions, trying to get balanced and my counselor quickly figured out what I needed, and gave me stability, validation, and feedback as I needed it. He is very good at what he does, though very low key. I have recommended this practice. Of course, each person reaching out is a unique request, but as long as they are willing to participate and take responsibility for getting to a comfort level, the people at this clinic are doing a good job to assist. They are in my UHC Medicare network.

We are 30 year patients. The care delivered is excellent and we rely on Dr. Buckingham over and over.

Joanna basically just dismissed all of my issues/ told me I shouldn't feel how I feel and made me feel extremely awkward. I left each session feeling worse. She also saw me late and ending each session early, which actually was fine because I felt so uncomfortable I just wanted them to be over (I went twice to really give it a try). I had seen similar reviews on her before going but tried to keep an open mind because she was accepting new clients. I would highly suggest waiting to see someone else and going to a different practice.

I saw a therapist Joanna at Buckingham. It was a bad experience all in all. The first two sessions she seemed normal. Asked a few questions and made small suggestions. By the third session she began to get frustrated and very aggressive. I suffer from anxiety and was on disability from work, trying to figure out if and when I could return to work.

And by the the fourth session (one per week) she literally told me in a session, and I quote "Hey i have patients whose anxiety is much worse than yours and they are already back to work, so whats your problem?" Joanna has a very passive aggressive personality which then turns into outwardly aggressive. She is very rude and confrontational if things don't go her way. She is very argumentative. I had a very bad experience here. Would not recommend.

I too received similar experiences to the other reviewers. I came to get testing and also possibly on going services. After three visits (4 month spand) I received a bill in the mail stating I had a bill due and "insurance was out of network" I was up set because i was one referred by insurance to them but they chose to give me a different "physician" that wasn't in network they tried fraudulently rebuilding my insurance under the covered physician which is illegal. The billing lady had a nasty attitude and gave misleading claims leaving a bad taste in my mouth I never returned.

Good place for therapy. I've been going to this pLace for a while now. A while means in high school. I initially thought I needed time to process my thoughts. This place helped me with just that. I thank the staff and Dr. Buckingham for being professional and frIendly

The post by JediKnightGuy82 was a disgruntled employee. Most of the information is completely false and misleading.

Wow, I should have checked the other reviews first! Horribly overpriced, and disorganized. I think they are out of business, though- office was closed for my appointment, and they never called me to schedule another one.

So the care providers are great. Let me be clear on that. But the admin team essentially cost me 100 dollars and its left such a bad taste in my mouth I've no intention of going back there again. I was told I'd be provided with a text message reminder, and for five months I was. They then stopped this practice in May, without notifying me about it.

I then missed the next appointment because I hadn't had my reminder and boom. I was charged 100 bucks for their poor communication. I get it, I'm responsible for making my appointments, but given the information above, it seems a little unfair to me.

I've been visiting with Mark Williams and he has been very helpful and understanding. He has allowed me to talk through my anxieties and give prospective that I had not thought of. The only negative thing I would say is, I was originally told my insurance was supported, but I later found out my insurance is not and it is only supported by one doctor (not Mark).

Doctors should pay high regard to receptionists who significantly deplete revenue for this facility. After being hung up on after a long hold to cancel an appointment, I called back and left a voicemail. The next day I was called and told I would be charged $100 for canceling. I explained the situation and I did everything correctly. I was treated rudely with zero compassion or understanding.

I tried to escalate and that was disregarded as well. Do NOT EVER GO HERE if you are human and may have a need to cancel an appointment, EVER. I would give zero stars if I could and the money they lost losing us as a patient significantly out weighs this garbage not valid "no call no show" fee we have been assesed. Good riddance!

Not a great place. Sat in the office on multiple occasions when the therapist was an hour late, but the told i would be charged to reschedule. Rates are high and not insurance friendly. They dont send out statements for balance due, just turn you over to collections and charge you. Little to no communication.
