I've been going to the doctors at Caplan Eye Clinic for over 40+ years and have always had top notch A+++ care. I am always able to get an appointment right away when it is needed ( like when I have developed corneal abrasions) or when I had a sudden pain in my eye. It is quite easy to pull up in their driveway and find a parking space in their large parking lot.

Their Metairie location is quite convenient to Lakeside Shopping Mall, the post office and many grocery stores. Dr Dan and the other docs are all very personable, as well as the staff that get you ready and prepared to get examined. They are kind and explain all the tests and are patient with you. I also have been very impressed with their optical and contact lens department, getting both visual aids quickly when needed.

There are many nice frames to choose from that it makes Caplan Eye Clinic a one stop shop. first for an examination and next for corrective glasses if they are necessary. I am in need of cataract surgery and wouldn't think twice about going to someone else to do the surgery. Many of my friends have already had the surgery performed and they are doing great! When you are in need of an eye doctor, Caplan Eye Clinic is the one that should come to mind. You will be in safe hands!

Poor experience here and I've been coming here for years. I know all the ins and outs of the office. Suspect practices. Don't fall for the false reviews from staff and paid endorsements.

I had a sudden change in vision which made me worry and I wanted to talk to a doctor about it. I was a first time patient. The reception at the front told me that I'd have to pay an additional fee that usually most insurance companies don't pay for. So I said OK and I paid the $35. When my appointment was confirm through my insurance I ended up getting a check for $35.

I only want to contacts so I had to wait to set up an additional appointment. On my second appointment they made me pay $135 didn't even report it to my insurance there is no record of me having that appointment. And I didn't even see a doctor. Somebody else had handled the appointment and told me that my vision is 2020 and gave me my same old prescription that I cannot see out of. Backtrack on my first visit they gave me a pair of contacts that were close to my old prescription. I have been wearing those contacts during my second visit and they told me that my vision was 2020 assuming I was wearing my old ones. How can you be so careless?

Called to make a new patient appointment for my husband and I. Michael answered the phone. Told me it's a waste of his time to spend 20 minutes in queue to verify coverage. The audacity for him to have to do his job, oh my! Well nevertheless sort another physican which is ashame because Dr Caplan is an excellent Dr and I wonder if he even knows this is going on, because by the reviews, Michael is a problem.

So I woke up this morning feeling terrible with fever and a sore throat. I had an appt today for 3 so of course i called at 9:30 to cancel. The office is saying I am still going to be charged a 50.00 no show fee. This is so wrong and unfair. I could understand if someone is cancelling for no reason. I will not pay the 50.00. I have been going to Caplan Eye Clinic for years for any medical treatment. Never again will I give them my business

I've been a patient at Caplan Eye Clinic for the past couple of years, I see multiple specialists within the practice and the efficiency and professionalism of both technicians Jena and Katie shouldn't go unnoticed. Jena, was my tech when I was seen in Dr Sumich's clinic, she has a very pleasant personality and was knowledgeable with any question and concerns that I had.

My wife and I had the experience of having Katie fit us for our contact lenses as well as assisting with Dr. Budden during my Retina exam. My wife was very pleased with how well Katie fit her with her contact lenses as she's been a "difficult fit" in the past and she executed it with ease. Very skilled and knowledgeable. Job well done!

Whoever they have answering the phones is atrociously rude. He actually laughed at me when calling to make an appointment because I happened to call late on a Friday. I asked what was funny, and he replied "I just never understood why people call 10 minutes before closing on a Friday." I'm sorry, maybe I have work and that was the only time I could manage to call?

This is something you get off the phone and laugh with your coworkers about, not the patient. I asked if there was a problem that I was calling, and proceeded to hear about how he has so much work to do. This soured me on the place as a new patient before I even first stepped in. My actual appointment was ok and I was treated nicely, but it ultimately wasn't what I needed, because I was scheduled with the wrong type of doctor.

I love this place. Usually when I go to an eye doctor, it feels uncomfortable and cold. But not here! The staff is so friendly and they make you feel right at home. The office is very clean, the doctor is super helpful and great at explaining everything, and they have a great selection of frames. I'll definitely keep coming here

They never get anything right. Whoever is in charge of hiring competent people is failing. I've worn glasses for 13 years. Just got new glasses from them and the prescription is too weak. Maybe could have worn this prescription 8 years ago, weak. I thought me driving with my old glasses lenses from 3 years ago was bad, but if I tried to get on the interstate right now, we'd all be in danger. Also, ordered contacts from them in April and paid for expedited shipping because I was going to a conference.

It took longer than expected, which I understand is out of their control, but when the contacts came in, and after me calling that day when they hadn't come in yet, they called me at 4:50. Office closes at 5. At this rate, you call the next morning when someone actually has a fighting chance of getting there before they close. Yes, the office manager felt bad and brought my contacts to me, but that doesn't replace the fact that they did the exact same thing last year.

Didn't call me for months after my contacts came in. Not exactly sure why I decided to do the whole baseball rule and give them 3 chances, but that's my mistake and I won't be back.

I came here about 4 years ago. I didn't have a great experience but I figured I'd give them a second chance. Things are still unorganized and I had to wait over 1.5 hrs to be seen. I was told that there was a lot of new staff and that was the big delay. I wasn't pleased when I got my bill for the day as I was told my copay was only $35 when I made the appointment.

They charged me over $200 for a 2 hour waste of time. The doctor didn't really address my issue that I came in for and didn't even check my prescription for eyeglasses. I had to go make an appointment elsewhere to get the services I actually needed! Save yourself some time and find a better eye care clinic. I also noticed that their office staff and "eye clinic" gave them fake 5 star reviews. Can't trust a place that does that. Shame on you.
