At first this experience was amazing. Phyllis was wonderful. The doctor was wonderful. The Christian music and atmosphere was pleasant and with Covid I have never felt more safe through this pandemic. However, my eye exam was in October and it took us roughly 6 weeks or so to receive our glasses that we roughly paid $400 each for. We purchased glasses called Chemistrie where the reading portion clicks on magnetically.

Within the first week my husband's magnets broke. It took another month for him to have them corrected. My lenses were made with a particular lens that I cannot use due to my astigmatism. I found this out after going back because I just could not see out of my glasses. The doctor asked me why I didn't tell him that I needed a different lens and my response is -he is the doctor why didn't he know?

So they sent my glasses off to be corrected. A third month later my glasses arrive. I still cannot see out of them. I dread even calling because he made me feel uncomfortable the last time I told him they weren't correct. I try for a few weeks to adjust but they just aren't correct. So I call Mrs. Phyllis who tells me to come on in and let them fix this.

When I arrive the arrogance of the conversation with this doctor astounded me. The first thing he said to me was that my glasses had been repaired once and my insurance wouldn't pay for it again. So I am still trying to figure out why my insurance paid for his mistake and not him? Second he made me feel as if I was trying to get a second pair of glasses for free when I simply just want to see?

Money or insurance wasn't my issue. Trying to see was my issue. Then he reminded me that he was not wrong. Instead of doing another full exam to make sure he was not wrong he showed me what my glasses were BEFORE and AFTER he did his exam. Why not repeat the exam to MAKE SURE it is correct? So I try my best to be patient even though I've been belittled and I suggest maybe it is the shape of the lens because I get motion sick easy.

So he takes my glasses and says well, we can bend this to assist. He brings my glasses back after bending them without even CONSIDERING I have a magnetic attachment for my reading glasses. Now that attachment does not work so essentially my $400+ are now useless even if they did work properly. I get home to just give it a go and attempt to try them and my attachment literally breaks in my hand when I pull it out of my case. Irony?

I don't know. What I do know is that I can see BETTER out of my old glasses and that is not my imagination and I think maybe if he took the time to revisit my exam and set aside his pride I would have glasses and be able to see well today. I am very frustrated and I definitely recommend Mrs. Phyllis but absolutely will never return to this office again.

I've been coming to Dr Vinson for about 20 years he has done such a good job on my eye prescription that it has barely changed in the 20 years that I've been seeing him I think it's actually gotten a little better. I won't ever go anywhere else cause he really takes care of his patients. Even during these tough times they are taking precautions to still see his patients and make sure they are safe.

For anyone looking for a pediatric optometrist. I do NOT recommend Dr. Vinson Carl. We were there for almost an hour and a half for my 2 year old and there is nothing there to distract kids like most offices (puzzels, blocks, etc.). The worst part of the appointment was when he was talking to me, my 4 year old Autistic child was talking to himself. Dr. Vinson told my kid to stop talking so he could talk to me!

My Autistic child who did so well and was just sitting in his chair talking about random stuff. I could hear the doctor just fine even with my son talking so for him to say anything to him was unnecessary. He didn't need to know he was Autistic either. The fact that he sees kids as young as 2 should mean that he should know how to talk and interact with young kids. Updated my review from 1 star to 3 because I did receive an apology from Dr. Vinson.

I've been going to Dr. Vinson for years. He provides friendly and excellent service for your eye care. They are a smaller practice and they work well with my insurance. Phyllis the receptionist is very accommodating and personable. I will continue to trust my awful eyesight to the kind folks at this office.

We needed a same day appointment, and due to a cancellation he was able to get my son in. He was less expensive than other eye doctors (we're cash patients). He was incredibly patient with my son. I was very impressed with how well he did with a 4 year old. He took his time and was very thorough with the exam. He did a great job of explaining everything to my son. Overall, I was so impressed with how he handled a wiggly 4 yr old. We will definitely be back!
