Please be advised that because of my retirement we will be discontinuing the Audiology practice. I will be unable to continue your care or renew your prescriptions after that date. But I am pleased to announce a new service partnership with SoundPoint Audiology, a hearing health practice that has been serving patients in the Tucson area for over 15 years. With 3 convenient clinic locations in the Tucson area, and 12 locations statewide, they are one of the premier hearing health practices in the state of Arizona.

I can't say enough about the professionalism, kindness and compassion shown to my 87 year old mother by Chris, the Audiologist. My mother has limited hearing and in the last year has repeatedly worked with Chris to work on her hearing aid, sometimes more than once in a week. She has some dementia and related cognitive issues and will never have great hearing even with hearing aids but his patience with her is amazing no matter how frequently we visit his office to try and accommodate her. Can't say thank you enough to Chris for working with her!

My 4 year old daughter had a foriegn body in her ear. After an unsuccessful ER visit, that made the issue worse, we still had to seek help. We called several offices around Sierra Vista and Tucson. Most didn't even answer. Dr. Carlson's office answered right away, and scheduled us right away. Dr. Carlson was excellent with my daughter, he was very patient with her. He was able to remove it within minutes without subjecting her to anesthesia. We are so very, very thankful for Dr. Carlson and his wondeful staff!

I called Dr. Carlson's office prior to making an appointment to see if my Cigna insurance would cover the cost of the visit to lessen out of pocket expenses since I am on a budget. Alecia from Dr. Carlson's office called me back and told me that she provided all the billing codes to Cigna and that they would cover my hearing check and wax removal.

I would be responsible for the $45 co-pay for the appointment. When I came in for my appointment I provided my paperwork and the receptionist asked me to pay just $45 for the co-pay, which I did with my credit card. At no point before the appointment or at the appointment was I told that I would be seeing 2 doctors versus 1. I did not even know that the man testing my hearing was indeed a doctor.

After the hearing test, I was taken to another examination room where I met with Dr. Carlson who explained the results of the test. Passed the test. I then receive a bill from Dr. Carlson's office stating that I owe another $45 dollars for a co-pay for Dr. Engelkes, who turns out was the man who conducted the hearing test. Emily in the billing office would not answer the question, "why was I not charged 2 co-pays at the appointment?" This is classic bait & switch. Dr. Carlson's practice and office is unscrupulous and deceptive. I will never return and will tell family, friends, and co-workers of my unfortunate experience.

The receptionist and office staff were excellent. My ear was blocked but Dr. Carlson painlessly solved my problem and had me out the door in 30 minutes. The insurance copay was just a few dollars more than the drug store product I previously purchased in an attempt to clear my ear.

My wife had suddenly gone deaf in one ear. I called and explained how serious it appeared to be and was unable to get a same day appointment. No appointment was available for a few days but I impressed on the receptionist the urgency of seeing my wife asap because of the possibility of nerve damage. She was able to squeeze us in sooner than originally thought.

Since she did so Dr. Carlson Was able to treat her and her hearing returned. We were very impressed with the professionalism of all the staff we encountered. Thank you Dr Carlson and Staff. Mark T and Margaret G

Dr. Carlson and his excellent staff treat my severe vertigo, which causes a room spinning sensation. When a severe episode occurs, they schedule me for treatment as quickly as possible. Although the treatment is unavoidably unpleasant, the doctor who performs the procedure is very kind and patient throughout. Dr. Carlson has treated me for almost 2 years.

During that time, I've seen him on many occasions. I am beyond grateful for his expertise in treating vertigo. It is simply an added bonus that he is so willing to answer my questions, never seems pressured for time, and has great understanding of my condition. I am very thankful for him and his team.

Dr. Calson refuses to see active duty military personnel. First his office said I needed to get a referral from Tricare and it could take 7-10 days. So, I called Tricare and they specifically told me based on my plan that a referral for a sore throat is not required. For some types of surgeries, yes, a referral is required, but definitely not for a sore throat. So, when I called back with the Tricare phone number and my Tricare member ID, Dr. Carlson's office said they had an "internal policy, " which required me to have a referral from a primary care doctor.

Since I don't have a primary care doctor, they refused to see me. I asked why they had the policy and they said they didn't know. A policy which unfairly denies medical care to military members and they don't even know why?! This makes receiving medical care that much more difficult. Bad policy, Dr. Carlson, recommend you reevaluate and start seeing military personnel.

I had an appointment with Dr. Carlson this morning. I was not impressed with him at all. I went in to see if he could drain my ears as I have significant build up of fluid behind the ear drum. He told me he did not have time to put tubes in my ears as that will take about 30 minutes to do. He seemed more interested in keeping the schedule. I have had this problem for 6 weeks or more.

I hope I don't loose my hearing over this. I think certain patients should have priority. He gave me antibiotics to take over 10 days. Praying that this will work, as I have already had 2 rounds of antibiotics. Doctors are not like they used to be.

I have a history of chronic ear wax in my left ear which is impossible to remove with drops. I had multiple ear surgeries over my life time and I am very picky who touches my ears. I originally contacted my primary care MD and she recommended Dr. Carlson's ENT and another ENT service near St Joseph's hospital. The ENT service near the hospital could not see me for 3 months for my ear wax removal and ear pain.

I called Dr Carlson's practice and the office staff stated " I have a cancellation today. Can you come in this afternoon at 3 PM?". I did meet the office staff which were all very friendly and waited only 10 minutes to see Dr Zacheis. Dr Zacheis was very professional and friendly. He did the ear wax removal without any discomfort at all. I will be using him again. I give this place 5 stars!

Have had two great experiences with Dr. Lara, who I think is very nice; however, I only gave 4 stars because of an initial not-so-wonderful experience with Dr. Carlson, who I felt had a bad beside manner and was very abrupt. I've been having chronic breathing and snoring issues due to allergies, and he came up with a simple and effective temporary natural treatment for me (daily sinus rinse, ) which I really appreciate because of issues I have with multiple medications.

After doing a sinus scan, Dr Lara said I am a good candidate for surgery for a significantly deviated septum, for longer-term benefit that would hopefully mean eliminating the daily rinse. I scheduled the surgery, but then found out about a natural treatment (palate adjustments with a chiropractor) and was breathing so much better after only one treatment that I cancelled the surgery. Also, the staff at the Oro Valley office is *really* nice!
