Thomas L. Croley, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1982 and finished his medical internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has received specialized training in cataract surgery, LASIK Eye Surgery, PRK Eye Surgery, and intraocular lens implantation.
The lens you were born with is usually crystal clear; the natural aging process kicks in with each passing year and causes that lens to become hardened and discolored (yellowish or yellow-brown in color), even opaque. This change interferes with the light entering the eye, which is necessary for seeing a clear image.
The natural lens of the eye is situated in an elastic-like capsular bag that holds it in place. When performing cataract surgery, the surgeon carefully opens the front portion of the capsule in order to remove the lens. After completely removing the natural lens, the intraocular lens is positioned inside the capsular bag.

I just had my 1 st cataract surgery with Dr Crowley, my appt was 745 am and from that moment you really forgot bout nerves because the staff in each and every are I was in was very polite, professional, caring, was all about making sure I was ok, Dr. Croley runs a very professional, caring not only is he the absolute best ever( I can see)his staff shows his precise professionalism, Amazing! Dr. Crowley is a true professional! He corrected my vision in about 30 seconds. He owns his own custom lasik machine! He is promot! If your appt. is at 9, he is walking into your room at 9! The whole staff is lovely! Thank you for what you have done for me! It has been over 12 years and still no need for glasses! I forgot to mention I only had one eye done! LASIK with Dr. Crowley was a success!

Asked for a Cosmetic procedure Consultation. Lack of information given prior to appt: Mask required, cost of consultation, requirement to submit to a complete eye exam including Dilation, Pressure, Acuity - all simply for a cosmetic lower eyelid consultation. I refused all these medical procedures for a CONSULTATION, all this resulting in Dr Croley's 5 minute consultation for $70.
They wanted to run up hundreds of dollars of procedures for an informational consultation only. I fully understood that a full medical exam is required prior to ANY surgery, but I refused this for a consultation.

I just wanted to thank Julia in the optical department for taking the time with me to help me pick out the best frames for my extremely high eyeglass prescription. Dr. Croley recently performed cataract surgery and astigmatism correction on both of my (Bryan) eyes. He is an excellent doctor -- thorough, knowledgeable and professional. His awesome staff is, as well. They were always friendly, helpful and efficient, making sure I understood all processes and answering all my questions. I was also impressed with the office process and the flow of patients in the various rooms.
