Joseph Zelasko can be described as kind-hearted and dependable. He has been practicing in Tacoma for more than 25 years and is regarded as an important member of the community. Joseph Zelasko is a Washington native, but received his Doctorate of Optometry with honors from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.

During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. A comprehensive eye exam includes a number of tests and procedures to examine and evaluate the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.

If more than 5 stars could be given, I would gladly give them! Excellent patient care! The technician that gave me the initial exam was very professional, The Doctor was very attentive and pleasant, he gave me an excellent exam, Century provided a first class service!

I was very impressed with Century Eye Care. I seen swiftly after I arrived. Reception was pleasant and focused. The tech who performed the initial exam was knowledgeable, personable and able to answer my questions promptly. My Doctor (S. Skavlem) was very professional and pleasant throughout the exam. The doctor was also quick to answer my questions in detail and in terms a lay person can follow.

The tech who works with one to choose and fit frames made it very easy to review various types frames, knew the pros and cons of each type and listened when I spoke. All in all, Century provided top quality service in all aspects of my visit.

Joe Zelasko is awesome! He has taken care of our family for years. He diagnosed my son with early stages of an eye condition that required minor surgery. Had he not caught it, a cornea transplant would have been the only option. We are forever thankful for the care we always receive as a family.

First time here and everything was perfect! My optometrist Suzette was sweet, kind, professional and all around amazing, she explained and covered everything to satisfaction. Business itself was nice and clean, frame selection could be better, not many options for my giant head, but still wound up finding a nice pair. I'll review that portion once my frames arrive. I'll definitely be coming her from now on for my exams.

The exam went well and the eye doctor was very thorough however; when it came to working with the glasses lady/ it seemed very expensive/ even with double insurance. I feel like I was cheated. I dont know how updating lenses are more than getting a new pair of glasses/ the cost was almost double. Both were for Gucci glasses. I could be wrong but if you do go to this place/ make sure to get an actual quote on everything.

Century Eye Care has the best staff and their frame selection is awesome. I was drawn to them because they offer uniquely beautiful frames. I walked out with a pair of the most beautiful prescription frames with high quality lenses. A year later I went back to update my frames/prescription. Because of their excellent selection of quality frames, I ordered two pair. The opticians are understanding, patient and excited to help you find the right frames that accentuate your face, features and personality! Thank you Century Eye Care!

Absolutely horrendous customer service. Made my appointment and told them I did not want a contact fitting ($60). I was told I did not need to pay that amount, then about 30 minutes after my appointment I got a call saying there was a mix up with my billing. After a rushed conversation about them over charging me by $50, she told me she would figure it out and call back.

I never got a call back, so I called a few days later to see what happened. I was told that I actually paid $50 for a contact fitting (that I did not ask for) and still owed $10. After going back and forth for a while trying to figure out what was going on, I was told that they would call back and let me know what happened. A day later a get a call saying I actually owe the full $60 (for the fitting I did not want) and that I couldn't order my contacts until I paid this amount.

I was never communicated with during the appointment, and the confusion about extra fees and who owed who money was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. The excuse was the there was too many people managing my file and that the other people I talked to were new and didn't know what they were talking about. Additionally I had an issue last year where they told me I had a $200 rebate available on the contacts that they recommended for me.

The rebate code was not valid on my brand, and I went in to ask them about it and they basically said "whoops our bad:)" and told me I was out $200 because they didn't know what they were talking about. This place is very unorganized and unprofessional. The lack of knowledge from the staff and miscommunication has cost me money multiple times. I will never come here again.

Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and efficient (but not rushed). I appreciated the good, clearly-communicated covid precaution policies. Dr. Skavlem was especially thorough and able to figure out a vision issue I was having. She took the time to answer questions and provide the eye and vision health education I needed.

I had a pair of glasses done by them after their hard selling of a frame not quite fit. It was very uncomfortable and I requested changing to another frame and remaking the glasses. They did that with a surprised service charge and not willing to take it away. I ended up dispute the charge through credit card company. After that, they erased my purchase record.

I went with high end lenses and later there were scratches and they refused to honor their promise and said we have no record. This is a dishonest store. Be aware and avoid visiting them like plague.

I needed a fast appointment and Century Eye Care got me in within a week, which is amazing. As a bonus when I arrived for my appointment the staff graciously, immediately tightened my glasses that had been falling off my face. The appointment was right on time and each of the 4 different staff including the doctor were incredibly professional, kind, and friendly. On top of that the doctor set me up with 5 different things to try for my eye condition. I highly reccomend them.

The staff there was excellent and made me feel comfortable. Very professional, friendly and clean. Dr. Took his time to examine me until it was perfect. I would recommend Century Eye Care for everyone. Great place and I will be back with my family. Thank you!

The staff is very unprofessional, and are only nice to people that the insurance will pay for their service. I had made an appointment, and apparently the new person was not trained properly, and I actually had to be the spokesperson for the appt. Got a call 3 days before my appt and was told that they could not do the exam because it had to be a medical issue.

I have had problems with them 2 years ago, but it was resolved. They were sending me text messages, saying that I needed to schedule? They need to update there system, and not be so interested in making money, verses your eye care. I will never do business with them again, nor recommend them. Not good. Go somewhere else.! MH

I'm on Medicaid (VSP) currently and I made extra sure on the phone that they accept this kind of insurance. However when I went in, I was told that they no longer accept Medicaid. Although they were slightly apologetic, they seemed more eager to pass the blame onto the person who had scheduled my appointment. I found it surprising that even though the error was made on their end, there was no offer of help or follow up for people who may have been put in a difficult situation due to lack of knowledge and communication within the clinic.

I'm unsure where the miscommunication happened, but I hope that in the future all employees are familiar with which state programs are accepted in the clinic. Particularly during a time where many people are losing their jobs/health insurance and need guidance navigating through the system.

I had an eye exam and bought brand new glasses and lenses about 5 months ago, paid $445 w/insurance. And my original experience was great. 5 star. I bent them a month after I got them brought them back and got them corrected free of charge. Laura was awesome. Then less then a month ago I bent them way outta shape. I came back hoping Laura can fix them and she couldn't so I had to pay $95 to get the hinges replaced. Was told it takes a week.

I called 2 weeks later and was RUDELY told it takes a month and was hung up on. Then not even a week later Laura calls me and says you glasses are ready. Came in the next day to pick them up and was RUDELY greeted and dealt with but the receptionist. Laura is great but who ever they have running the front desk is really rude and because of this i will never come back nor will I recommend this place. I spent a lot of money here and to be treated like this I will never get glasses here again nor would I recommend.

Found this spot on here saw the ratings and reviews! Just went today and the staff was great and were really friendly I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to get an eye exam or just anything that they offer! The doctor was polite as can be also the person who helped me before the doctor came in was very nice and helpful cause this was my first time getting my eye exam!

And the front desk employee was very kind and great! The employee who helped me pick out my glasses frame was very patient and answer anything and everything I had a question for! 12/10 would definitely recommend for anyone!

MY insurance changed vision plans so I was forced to leave my eye Dr of many years, Called them they wouldn't even schedule appt without info had to get medical info etc. Get to appt Dr Ngo is GREAT. I'm excited so I schedule my honey for appt. All is well. They will follow up in 4 days. We are 2 weeks out and I call them today, follow up and customer service is terrible, they won't help if you don't get glasses from them.

I can't afford $400-$1000 for 1 pair of glasses, I had to get progressive and not sure if they are correct. Also he tried mono vision contacts, not sure if working their response is get artificial tears. What is that like Visene he said NO. Ella all over the place doesn't listen and hung up on me twice, Brandon kept saying well you didn't get from here so not sure how too help you with your first time EVER progressive lens. Frustrating asked for manager we'll see if she calls me back. I hate BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE when the Dr is nice. Because he loses out. Upset I was forced to switch eye Dr. And now may have to switch again. Because of bad service.
