I have been seeing ophthalmologists since I was 12 years old. I have never walked into a waiting room where 30+ people were waiting to see three doctors, and have never spent two to three hours to complete a scheduled appointment. The doctor I saw never spent more than 5 minutes with me, always in a hurry to get to the next patient. From my very first visit he started pushing me to get cataract surgery even though I'd had cataracts for several years, had been seeing other top-notch doctors in another city every 6 months, and had always been told by those doctors there was no hurry for the surgery.

Maybe the fact that he is part owner of the surgical center had something to do with this pressure on me. Everything from the office environment to the surgical center runs like an assembly line. Each patient is a nameless faceless object on the line to work on quickly and move on. I'm tired of being one of those objects and am moving on.

Dr. Wang was very good at putting me at ease before and after my cataract surgery. She answered all my questions and gave me back my site. I am very grateful for her. Also the staff is very pleasant and understanding.

Absolutely horrible customer service and inaccurate eye prescription. Go elsewhere. My husband and I went in to update his glasses prescription. They gave him a prescription far too high, causing us to have to see another eye doctor to have it corrected. He had to have his glasses made three times to get it right. Then, we received a bill for a procedure we didn't know was not part of a standard eye exam and were never informed was not standard. When told of the issues, the customer service person essentially said, you should have called us, which is exactly what we had done to no avail.

They are very thorough. The office, bathroom, and waiting room are all very clean and comfortable. They were wonderful very personable, it felt like they really cared, and wanted me to have the glasses I needed.

I had Lasik surgery with Dr. Wisenthol and it went great. I have no complaints. Everything was very well explained to me with the help of his techs and I am so glad I got it done. I think Dr. Wisenthol has great bedside manner. The surgery itself is a bit nerve wracking as you are not under any anesthesia, but he keeps you calm and comfortable. The general office in terms of follow ups is like a factory with patients churned in and out. I've had to wait once or twice, which is a bit annoying, but part of most healthcare.

The blonde receptionist acts like she can't be bothered to answer any questions and if you ask a question about insurance she moans sighs and acts like you must be the dumbest person ever for asking. Super rude manners by a few staff members here definitely will not be returning.

I have been going to Dr Shiomos at Cny eye care for about 5 years. Roughly 6 months after my appointment last year I was sent a $385 bill with a letter attached that it was not covered by my insurance. I asked the staff beforehand and told them who my insurance company was and they assured me that it would be covered. I paid the bill and when asked to reschedule, I told them what had happened and that I would have to call my insurance company to make sure that it was covered because I can't afford another $385 bill.

I told them I would call back and schedule when I knew I was covered. About 1 month later I received a certified letter stating that they will no longer be able to serve as my physician because they attempted to contact me about my missed eye appointment with no response. I never even scheduled an appointment to miss let alone recieve a voicemail or any contact from them.

This is a horrible way to treat a patient. Don't be surprised if you get an unknown bill to pay or a letter stating that they can no longer treat you, as they see you as a dollar sign and not a patient. 0 stars from former patient Jeremy Russell

Dr. Weisenthal exhibited one of the worst bed-side manners I have ever seen. He doesn't care about well-being of patients. He won't spend much time and effort with you. Then when something goes wrong, he will try to cover his mistakes. For example, he didn't even look at the MRI result I have brought with me. He was not even aware of which part of the body the MRI was for.

I also know about another doctor in this office. These doctors may be ok for routine checkups. However, if you have an unusual episode, which everyone will have one eventually, they do not perform well. Ask yourself, do I need a doctor who I can rely on an emergency? If the answer is "Yes, " then look somewhere else.
