CNY Orthopedic Sports Medicine PC We are a team of dedicated professionals focused on providing expert care for our patients. Our team specializes in all areas of orthopedics and sports medicine including injuries and conditions of the hip, knee, foot and ankle, shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist and non-operative spine. I knew when I was 15 years old that I wanted to become an orthopedic surgeon, and I worked hard to obtain the best education available to me.

But education alone is only half of good medicine. Since I've experienced orthopedic surgery from a patient's perspective, I know that the personal care and the extra time I spend with patients is just as important.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the result of swelling in the lubricating membrane (synovium) of the wrist; reducing the space, or tunnel, where the nerve travels from the forearm into the hand. When this tunnel swells, the resulting pressure can cause irritation and pain in the nerves of the wrist.
Few advances in surgical techniques have been as beneficial as the development of arthroscopic surgery. An arthroscopic procedure greatly reduces the "invasiveness" of surgery; it allows a surgeon to make only a few small incisions instead of one large incision - as is common with open procedures. A reduction in surgical invasiveness is helpful for many reasons, one of which is the improvement in recovery time after surgery.

I have had 3 visits with Dr. Carr, after reading these negatives reviews I was hesitant to attend my first appointment. I need not have been. Dr. Carr was pleasant, professional, and put me at ease. I felt comfortable talking to him about my issue and understood he was hired to just do his job. If not for his recommendation I would not have gotten approval for my needed treatment. Perhaps these negative commends reflect the authors attitude, not Dr. Carr's professional opinion.

Dr. Carr is a Liar. He makes a good percentage of his pathetic business doing IMEs for Lawyers and Workman's Comp Insurance. They use him alot in the area. He wrote in his report that he examined me for 24 minutes, he was only in the room for less than 5 minutes. If he was that good of a Orthopedic Doctor than injured patients would come to him in droves, but he is not! So he has to become a Liar for the Insurance Companies. Alot of Doctors are caring people and want to help their patients, he is not.

I was examined twice, by Dr. Carr, for workers comp and both times he gave the board a decision, that was 100% inaccurate. 1st examination: the Dr. who did my surgeries stated that I could go back to work but couldn't lift more than 5 pads because I was waiting on another surgery. Dr. Carr examined me for 15 mins and told comp. that I could lift over 40 pds. 2nd exam: Dr. Carr again examined me and the the exact same thing happened.

He told the board, " after examining me that he didn't see any infection or swelling, that I could go back to work". Only a week before, seeing him for the 2nd time, I had a appointment with my surgeon and after seeing her she recommended that I visit a infectious disease specialist, because the same injury had become infected again. They both decided that I should either have several surgeries to stop the infection or I could have that part of my finger, removed.

This comes, only a week after Dr. Carr's 15 minute exam. And workers comp, took his advice over the Dr who have been seeing for almost a year and a Infectious Disease Specialist. It's obvious that he has WORKERS COMP BEST INTEREST IN MIND DURING HIS EXAMS.

Nothing less than a veterinarian. Went to see this guy on 1/20/19 for an IME per worker compensation insurance carrier. My dr gave me a 35% loss of usage on my right shoulder this quack lied and said I wasnt giving my best effort and said I had a 12.5% loss of usage its clear he is working for the insurance carrier. This guy needs to be taken off the NYS ime dr list

This Dr. Carr has got to be one of the worse doctors out here. Of course he is getting paid big money from Worker's Comp to lie to the courts. I got three doctors to back my decision up that I couldn't lift more than 15 pounds with my wrist. This guy claimed I could work 8 hours a day lifting 40 pounds! Come to find out I needed a second surgery to have 3 bones taking out, plus I still had torn ligaments in my hand. If I would have been injured working under his orders, I would of had a huge lawsuit against him and worker's comp. ALWAYS RECORD YOUR VISIT WITH HIM TO GIVE TO YOUR LAWYER!
