It's been 3 years since I've been taking my children here, they started as newborns and are now 1 and 3 years old. I've had such an amazing experience with the staff and doctors. Our pediatrician is Dr. Inbar, she is patient, understanding and genuine. If we've had an issue where we are seen the same day and Dr. Inbar isn't available, we have been extremely happy with the doctors that have assisted us. My 3 year old loves going to the doctor so I think that says it all! Great team!

What a disappointment this office has been. It takes forever to make an appointment for a well visit with an actual doctor, and now they have cancelled on me twice in a row. I had to wait for a month for a new appt and they cancelled on me. They offered that I could see a nurse practitioner, but what I'm looking for is what I had back in LA with our amazing doctor, to have a relationship with someone who knows my kids. This is definitely not the place.

The customer service is horrible! You wait on hold just to make an appointment. One day I called them to verify my appointment and ended up getting to the office before anyone picked up the phone.

Coastal Kids is a nicely marketed pretty storefront for condescending providers whose #1 priority is to jab your kids. I went here when my son was a newborn and the pressure quickly shifted from his overall health at 8 weeks to pushing vaccinations so early when we had no plan for daycare and I would be staying home + we were still in moderate levels of covid lockdowns where most places weren't even open.

I know this is a hot topic and I am sticking my neck out here by posting this but I literally left at 8 weeks because my instincts said to run. We went elsewhere the last two years. We went back this week as we were ready to do catch up vaccines so my son can do preschool and we had a schedule that we were comfortable with. We were basically mocked and insulted that there's no way they'd allow us to do this and my husband who was with me basically got up and we walked out.

After two years there was no care or attention to get to know us now or how our life has been or how our son has developed. No interest in us as people. This place is a vaccine factory and do not go here if you are looking for informed consent - period. Maybe this review will spare a nice young parent who wants to ask questions to be empowered enough to know that the only person who is in charge of or the authority over your child's health is the parent. I will never come back here.

We have taken our son to Coastal Kids Newport since he was born. Every time we go we have to wait. I called today because he is sick for the first time with a rash all over his body asking to be seen. Their response was that they are all booked for today, call back tomorrow. I asked if I could speak to our doctor who they said was not in, I asked to speak to another doctor they said that was not possible and that there is a nurse practitioner that can call me 'at her convenience', still no call.

This place is a factory that does not actually care about patients, it's just about jamming you through their system to make money. The front office staff is horrible and they overbook with new patients becoming too busy to care about existing sick kids.

This pediatric practice was recommended by my OBGYN right before I had my daughter in 2021. Once she was born, we started seeing Dr. Inbar at the Newport Beach office. Fast forward 6 months, and we had major problems with our health insurance adding the baby to our policy and had to wait for 2022 to enroll her. We missed all appointments from month 2-6.

A part of me was dreading to bring baby in because I assumed I would get scolded for not being on top of things (and besides the insurance fiasco, I am a first time mom and baby was colicky.so I was overwhelmed to say the least). When we came in at 6 months, Dr. Inbar was all smiles, asked us questions about how baby was doing, she was so understanding and never once made me feel like a bad mom for not coming in sooner. She came up with a game plan to get us all caught up on immunizations we missed and we couldn't be happier. Highly recommend Dr. Inbar at Coastal Kids Newport Beach.

The Doctors are great and caring. I received my bills for my newborn baby and was having issues with the insurance company for the first 30 days of coverage. I called Coastal Kids Billings department and Shan was able to help. She gave me some great information on coverage and even went above and beyond by calling Aetna. I've been calling Aetna multiple times and had been getting the run around, being told different information and them denying coverage. Shan has been amazing she got it all sorted for me. And called me back within 2hours for an update! Thank you Shan this made my day. For a new Mom with so much going on, this put my mind at rest.

The wait times here are ridiculous! First off, trying to get an appointment takes forever. You're on hold for a long time. Second of all, waiting to go into a room takes forever too. The longest I've waited was 45min just to get into the room then waited another 20min to be seen by the doctor. Those wait times are unacceptable and torture when having a toddler. Third, we got billed for something that didn't even happen and the process of having to call to correct it was painful and took forever.

I had enough so we switched to a different pediatrician's office and love it! Now, it's been a month just trying to get coastal kids to get the medical records transferred over to our new pediatrician and they still haven't delivered. They have such a large practice and probably are taking on way more than they can handle. The doctors at coastal kids are great. We have seen a few different ones and LOVE them. but it's not worth the headache from the office staff that can't get things done in a timely manner or correctly.

Dr. Rhee was amazing with my 3 year old daughter. My daughter has a tendency to by shy but she was very receptive of the doctor and the approach she used - we had the most successful check up. I highly recommend coastal kids in Newport Beach! Thank you, Dr. Rhee we're lucky we found you.

Dr. O'Connel and Dr. Abelowitz are both phenomenal medical doctors that are highly respected, admired and appreciated by my family. I am tremendously grateful for the professionalism, high standard of care and excellent communication by these doctors. Furthermore, Coastal Kids staff are wonderful, efficient and affable each time I am in the office.

The office in Newport Beach is welcoming and has easy access from the nearby parking area. When arriving on time, I have never had an unreasonable wait time (the waiting lobby/foyer is very comfortable for kids). Five stars for Coastal Kids in Newport Beach!

We've been seeing Dr. Pertz for both of our toddlers. I cannot say enough about the help and guidance she has given us over the last 5 years. She is no-nonsense and incredibly upbeat and positive. For me personally, her professional advice is obviously indispensable but the true value add vs. other doctors is her down-to-earth "real life" opinion as a mother of four--frequently that mother of 4 advice is soooo much more helpful than the standard medical guidance.

As anyone with toddlers knows, the medical situations are frequently grey and not text book black and white--this is where we need some experienced doctor (and mother-of-4) help and Dr. Pertz is ALWAYS there for us. Recently, during a sick visit with our 2 Yr. old who seems to enjoy just screaming at the top of her lungs when she somehow figures out she is at the doctors office. we were seen by nurse Jessica Dewitt.

As the Dad I usually just end up bear hugging the girls if needed while we check her temp, ears, and the usual fun stuff. Well as our daughter is in the middle of a fit, nurse Dewitt pops out grabs a handful of Frozen stickers, comes back in, gives the stickers to our daughter, speaks to her in toddler having a fit language and some how settled her down to be calm for the remainder of the exam. It was amazing. Well done nurse Jessica. The doctors and nurses in the place are top notch. I would 1 million percent trust my kids with Dr. Pertz and the nurses here.

They just want that copay. We get better insurance with the new year and will not go back to Costal Kids. They have given us so many nightmares. Their office staff seems unorganized, but maybe it's the doctor that is unorganized. They did not call us back with test results from my child's ultrasound. When I called the doctor blamed it on ultrasound place, but the ultrasound was sent to them.

When being given the order for ultrasound they did not tell the ultrasound place what to do tests on in the first place so I had to reschedule and go pick up order after arriving to ultrasound office. Also, my child needed a basic antibiotic prescribed as she has a cold/upper respiratory infection that is settling into her ear(same thing has happened before) and we are leaving for a vacation during Christmas.

My child hasn't taken an antibiotic in two years. Doctor refused antibiotic and said we will just need to bring her back if she develops infection. I tried to explain that we will be traveling/flying and that our current insurance is not that great and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to take her in again out of state. She said we could call her if she ends up with fever, but tomorrow is Christmas and that they will be closed.

How can calling them help if they can't see her as we will be out of state? Is doctor going to then call it in? She said no. we would have to take her in to urgent care. Really? I was trying to be a good proactive parent and not have a very sick child while flying and traveling. I understand people abuse antibiotics by over doing them. But for someone that doesn't abuse them this is just annoying. In Europe a pharmacy would distribute an antibiotic. Thanks for absolutely nothing and for making every situation at your office a very annoying and unorganized mess.

Dr. Harris is amazing! We originally started coming to the Newport Beach office 4 years ago with Dr. Abelowitz And then moved to Dr. Harris when he joined the practice for convenience. He has been great and now we are bringing our newborn daughter to him. He provides amazing care to both of our children.

We have been so lucky to have had some great pediatricians but we especially appreciate Dr. Rhee at Coastal Kids! She is so warm, thorough, communicative and knowledgeable. A friend recommended Coastal Kids but we were matched with Dr. Rhee by the clinic since we were new patients and we are so glad that we got her! The clinic here in Newport is nice and convenient as well.

The doctors are great but the front desk staff is horrible. Raven at the Newport Beach location was very rude and completely unhelpful over the phone. Immediately cut me off and would not listen to anything I had to say. Having a sick infant is very stressful, dealing with rude incompetent office staff on top of that is not a good experience.

They never really seemed to have space to see my kids when they were sick. I ended up needing to take my 4 year old to the emergency room for symptoms of a UTI where she was prescribed standard antibiotics but exposed to all kind of other things during COVID. This was fall of 2020. I ended up with a $1,000 bill which was totally unnecessary. Very disappointed with this office.

We used to love coastal kids and then we have been nickeled and dimed way too much. For example, they charged us for all three of our children to get eye exams during their well check visits. We received a bill and they failed to mention that it was an additional cost and not included in a normal well check appointment. Also, I am being charged to transfer my children's records to another practice and I have to wait two weeks for it to be done. However, I have to pay immediately upon request.

I have paid for every single appointment and now I don't have access to my own children's records. Practices that are passionate about the health of their patients would not need do these things. It's very unfortunate. Now, I understand why they have lost many of their best pediatricians.

A big THANK YOU to doctor Abelowitz! He is a world class pediatrician, and most importantly an exceptional human being. Doctors are under more pressure than ever before (COVID), and he manages to give our family + the other patients he cares for his undivided attention during all visits. &He has such wonderful bedside manner. I can't imagine how many hours he puts in a week- for our children & community.

Such an wonderful and caring person, truly. He has been our pediatrician since the birth of our baby and it has been an amazing journey. He always takes the time to explain everything in detail and is open to answering all of our queries patiently. Being first time parents, this made a world of difference to us. His entire office staff has always been friendly and efficient with booking appointments, rescheduling and passing on our messages to Doctor Abelowitz.

He has always gotten back to us even if it is after office hours. The words "Doctor Abelowitz" and "mensch" are synonymous. I am so grateful for him. He truly cares for his patients, and that is why he is our forever pediatrician. He doesn't set the bar when it comes to excellence in pediatric care, he is the bar. I highly recommend him.

Wonderful practice and amazing doctors. Overall, just an incredible place for kids' wellness (unless they're sick). Our regular check-ups have been great, doctors incredible, but during sick season this particular office comes off the rails. My biggest complaint, is for the Newport weekend (sick) office is the training/communication of front office staff, and sick visit policy.

We were initially turned away by the front insisting we needed an appointment, and no guarantee we would be seen by a doctor. However, this was AFTER THE DOCTOR TOLD US TO COME IN! We did stick it out, but had to wait nearly 3hrs. However, there's no excuse or reason for us to be treated the way we were. TL:DR Always, always make an appointment no matter what, even if the doctor tells you to come in, you must have an appointment or the front staff will turn you away.
