Coastal Podiatry Associates Even if foot problems are not life-threatening, they can still cause extreme pain and discomfort. Patients who have struggled to get their conditions under control are often frustrated, exhausted, and unfulfilled due to the inability to do the things they love. In most cases, patients have tried over and over again to mask the symptoms of their ailments, achieving only short-term relief. We are here to put an end to this cycle, ending the pain for good and getting you back to the life you used to live.
Services
Coastal Podiatry Associates was started in 1989 by Dr. Scott Hamilton. In 1992, Dr. Joseph Menn joined the practice followed by Dr. Scott Werter in 1997. In 2016, Dr. Richard Moore and Dr. Bradley Keefer of Seacoast Podiatry and Dr. William Parker of Conway Podiatry merged their established practices with Coastal Podiatry Associates forming the largest podiatry group in Eastern South Carolina.
Our skilled podiatric specialists are highly trained in diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the foot and ankle. Personalized treatment programs are developed to satisfy individual foot care needs. Patients with diabetes are at extreme risk of injuries to their feet. If they do not take measures to protect their feet from cuts, scrapes, burns, and punctures, an infection can spread to the leg and require amputation. Our podiatrists work to cure infections and prevent future foot injuries in diabetic patients, ensuring your feet are protected for years to come.
Your life is never the same after you are diagnosed with diabetes. You test constantly to make sure your blood sugar levels are under control and try to eat right at every meal to prevent a sudden glucose spike or drop. Your doctors have warned you that diabetes can cause permanent damage to your kidneys, liver, and eyes-not to mention the potential loss of a leg due to infection.
Heel pain can strike anyone at some point in their lives. The lucky patients might only need a day of rest, an ice pack, and to elevate the foot for a few hours each night. But for thousands of sufferers, the condition will mean persistent pain that prevents them from walking long distances, participating in recreational activities, and even taking days off of work due to the discomfort in their heels.

I have been a patient of Dr Scott Hamilton for several years and have been more than pleased with the outcomes of my care. The staff is wonderful. If you are having foot issues, I highly recommend you contact the office and schedule an appointment with Dr Hamilton.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. when my husband called to make the appointment for me they told him they couldn't tell him how much it would be to get my toe looked at. Hmm okay. so I arrive at the appointment and I ask before anything how much it will cost just to get my toe looked at (paying out of pocket, so of course I'd love an idea)?

Once again still can't tell me! I did not feel comfortable or at ease about the procedure, I explained I have a lot of anxiety and the thought of cutting open my toe I wasn't prepared to do something same day. I said I wanted to wait a few days to set up the appointment to be prepared (now that I know what I have to have done) and then all of a sudden the front desk lady figured out the 5 minutes of me talking to the doctor about my options was worth $70. Needless to say I absolutely did not return. I did however go to Low Country Foot Specialists and I felt 100% welcome and at ease.

No complaints with the actual toenail clipping. I had been to Coastal Podiatry in the summer and the doctor did a fine job and, this time around, the toenail clipping was fine again. (I don't go to nail salons for pedicures during Covid.) My negative review is because on my second visit I had such a bizarre experience that I have no plans of ever returning to Coastal Podiatry again. Things started out okay.

A technician came in and trimmed the nails on all my toes except the two big toes, then she left after the doctor arrived. He quickly trimmed the nails on my two big toes. That took about two minutes or less. As he hung up his tools abd I slipped into my shoes, I said something like, "Well thanks! I hope you and your staff stays healthy during this pandemic." Well, that comment triggered something in the doctor because he proceeded to lecture me on what he thinks about the Covid-19 pandemic.

I sat there awkwardly in his treatment chair as his venting-session went on for what seemed like FOREVER but was probably more like 10 minutes. He and I were both wearing masks, so he couldn't tell that my jaw dropped open as he began to spout his theory that Covid is made worse by "THE MEDIA" and that EVERYONE will probably get it and that only a tiny percentage of the people who do will actually die.

He thinks everyone who tests positive should immediately get "Hydroxychloriquine (sp?)". Meanwhile, I'm just sitting there listening to his rant. He mentions that his wife, a retired family practitioner, doesn't really see eye to eye with him on this topic. But he reserved most of his anger for a female neighbor of his who he said doesn't like President Trump, although he didn't go into details about how he knows this about his neighbor and what that might have to do with Covid.

This strange episode with my podiatrist took place before the November 3rd general election, but the doctor would have had no way of knowing if I was a Trump supporter or not.) I didn't say ANYTHING while he was ranting but I was trying to hatch a plan for how to get out of the office. He was speaking in a loud voice that was probably audible to anyone walking past the exam room.

He seemed to be getting more and more frustrated as he went on and on. But then he seemed to have reached the end of his soliloquy as quickly as it began. I asked when he wanted to see me again and I said, "okay, Doc, I'll see you in December. Be safe." I quickly got out of there. I sat in my car for about 10 minutes thinking, "what the heck just happened?!"

Dr Werter, s office insist that I pay out of pocket for the same procedure that my Podiatrist in Naples Florida has no out of pocket expense. It is to remove a very painful growth on the bottom of one foot. Unfortunately after many years where I was not charged I will select a new doctor.

When i arrived i was scared even after having watched "toe bro" inpreparation. The staff was so nice! Especially the assistant (Shonda) who was very professional and sweet. Dr. Werter had a great personality and was very quick. The procedure was painless and over before i knew it had begun. I am positive I will be going back to have the same procedure repeated on my other foot very soon. Already referred a friend to them as well. Thank you so much!

I was on vacation from California and I hurt my toe really bad. I called for an emergency appointment and they got me in within the hour. Dr. Scott took excellent care of me. I was really scared and he helped me to feel at ease. My accident happened in the morning and so I did not have any breakfast. I felt like was going to faint when he was taking care of my foot.

He and his staff made sure I was okay and stayed with me the whole time. It's scary to have an emergency when you are traveling and I truly appreciated how well they took care of me. Thank you Dr. Scott and staff!

Where do I begin. I am writing this for my grandfather who is 88 years old. This office encouraged my grandfather to get special shoes that were promised to be covered by Medicare wouldn't have to pay a cent. Long and behold a couple of weeks later he received a bill over $180 (what the insurance wouldn't pay). However, that's not why I am writing this review.

When my grandfather went to his next visit the woman at the front desk said loudly that they would not see my grandfather until the bill was paid. It was embarrassing and uncalled for. The fact that she would say this loudly in a full waiting area absolutely floored me. A courtesy call would have sufficed. We will NEVER return. What a classy receptionist

I had heel pain and needed to see a podiatrist. I called to make an appointment and was told they don't take my insurance. (state insurance) I then asked how much an office visit would cost she indicated I needed to contact my insurance to see what it would cost or which doctors were in network. I did that and called them back. I asked if they took self paying clients.

The response was yes. Next question, ok, how much would an office visit cost. Response I don't know, that information is out of the billing office. I understand there is a basic fee and possible additional fees. But wanted to know if the fee was 100.00 or 300.00 for a basic office visit. Need less to say I have an appointment with another physician. I realize I don't really matter in their world but I feel they could have given me at least some kind of estimate. DD, Little River

Mixed review as provider was helpful on 1st visit when I came in with severe pain from plantar fasciitis and got relief. Was overcharged though after 2nd visit and after numerous phone calls still waiting for refund of payment as they charged over the Medicare claimed amount for my deductible which begins every January. Just a caution if you go in January and have Medicare.

Do NOT use this practice! My father had a callous removed from his foot, Dr Moore hit a bone while removing the callous- resulting in an infection that never healed. As a result, the infection took over my fathers body and he passed away Christmas Eve. BEWARE!
