Colon Rectal Surgical Associates, LLC specializes in the medical and surgical management of problems affecting the colon, rectum, and anus, as well as the small intestine (especially when involved with inflammatory bowel disease). Services
Recognized by their peers as top specialists in colon and rectal problems, the specialists at Colon Rectal Surgical Associates perform a greater volume of colon resection and anorectal surgery than nearly any other group in the state of Maryland. We are leaders in the field of laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, performing between 200 and 300 colon resections annually; we also perform colonoscopy procedures to screen for cancer, as well as the newer PPH (Procedure for Prolapse & Hemorrhoids), recommended for patients with internal hemorrhoids requiring surgical intervention.
The specialty of Colon and Rectal Surgery, formerly known as Proctology, is dedicated to the care and treatment of diseases or ailments of the colon (large intestine), rectum, or anus. Surgeons in this field complete a five-year General Surgery residency, followed by an additional one to two years in specialty training.
When detected early, colorectal cancer treatment is extraordinarily effective; the five-year survival rate for patients whose cancer has been caught at an early stage is roughly 90%, according to cancer.org. Regular screening is crucial in the detection and prevention of cancer. Learn more below, or contact Colon Rectal Surgical Associates to schedule an appointment in our Glen Burnie or Ellicott City, Maryland offices.
A colonoscopy involves the use of a long, flexible tube called a colonoscope to look at the inside of your colon (large intestine). It provides a direct look at the colon (as opposed to x-ray studies, which look at shadows), and is commonly used as a means of colorectal cancer screening. It is important that the colon be clean and empty for this procedure.

Admins are extremely rude, especially Theres*. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return. They couldn't even get my husband's phone number right and gave us an attitude when we tried to correct them. Don't waste your time.

Dr Ioch was GREAT. I had surgery with her years ago and have been doing great ever since. Great bedside manner and follow through to the very end. I have recommended her to my Primary Care Doctor and several others since my surgery. If I needed the same surgery again, I wouldn't hesitate to select her again. The office staff was on point with top rated customer service and sincerity of their care and accommodating personalities.

I was able to get an appointment the same day I called after explaining my problem. The care and understanding approach was perfect. I was more than pleased with the treatment I received from Dr. Koch and have recommended her to our family doctor for anyone needing her speciality.

I have visited this office once and would never go there again. They are very dishonest about their billing and acting like scammers. They don't let the patient knows the copayment upfront and later on surprise him with a large bill. I also was not impressed with their doctor. He gave me a wrong diagnostic which could cost me an unnecessary surgery. I was lucky to go to another doctor for a second opinion to make sure that surgery was not needed.
