Were it not for strict policies about what can be publicly posted I would be able to tell you how I really feel about this office. Unfortunately, these soft policies have stripped free speech and the ability to tell the TRUTH about businesses. I will say I'm glad I never got the opportunity to pay this office a dime or allow them to bill my insurance as they were 100% unprofessional and beyond snotty (would prefer to use more accurate adjectives here, but again those policies).

Like another reviewer accurately mentioned, we filled out about 67 pages of paperwork (ridiculous) prior to the appointment. When we called with some questions about the paperwork, they were snotty and short. Waited almost 2 months for the appointment my son desperately needed. On the day of the appointment, while in route, I realized I didn't have my wallet in my possession as I had left it on the kitchen counter.

As the wallet contained my insurance information, I politely called ahead to explain the situation - as returning to get the wallet would have made me late for the appointment. To avoid any hassle, I additionally made the proactive step to have my son's pediatrician forward over all the applicable insurance info to this office, as we were well established at the pediatrician.

Problem solved, and was told "no problem, come on in" by the Cookingham staff. Great! About 2 minutes from the office I received a call back from Cookingham: "We're not going to see your son today. We're going to refer you to another allergist." "Um.excuse me? What are you talking about? I'm literally 30 seconds from your front door?" "Sorry, here's the number for Dr XYZ." Needless to say I was FUMING mad. Had taken a full day off of work for the appointment (which cost me approx $300 in wages).

I arrived at the office and attempted to walk in for an explanation, yet these idiots had literally LOCKED THE DOOR to block me from coming in. Other patients were arriving and also couldn't enter the office. Unbelievable. Unprofessional. And absolutely ridiculous. My best guess is that once our pediatrician faxed over my insurance information while I was in route, they realized I was TriCare (I am retired military) and figured they couldn't make as much money off of us so they balked.

As I've gladly continued to spread the bad news about this office, I've heard of more than a few other bad experiences with these snotty a**holes. Apparently word is getting around and I was not the first. I truly hope that someday I meet someone who works in that office, or better yet one of the good doctors themselves.as reciprocating their obnoxious, unprofessional treatment will be very satisfying. Should have sent them a bill for my lost wages. Oh, and way to take care of veterans!

Couldnt get an appt for 3 weeks, called and gave them my Insurance Carrier prior, got. Sent about 50 pages to fill out prior to my visit. Finally came to the appt. And they told me they couldn't see me without a referral. Said I had the wrong type of Blue Shield, I asked if they could call my PCP for the referral since I am there."we don't do that".

Every other specialist I went to does. On top of that I locked my keys in my car so I still had to wait in their waiting room, which I'm sure they loved. Saw 2 people waiting for appts. Get up and leave. Great service.

Saw Dr Beene for my 7yo sons allergy visit. Wonderful place, great people. I can't say enough good things about the staff or the doctor. He did a fantastic job making my little one feel comfortable, joking and explaining everything to him. Absolutely fantastic, highly recommended to anyone.
