Charged over $100 for a 5 minute appointment where I got no real advice on my appointment topic and no insight as to what was going on. Did not receive an invoice until two month later also. Would NOT recommend scheduling an appointment here.

Dr is awesome. He clearly really cares that his patients truly understand their treatment. 10 stars! He is awesome. Cool office setting too with tons of geologically rare rocks on display

Giving this doctor even one star feels like too much. I had an absolutely terrible experience with Dr. Swinehart. My first consult, he barely looked at my skin and prescribed me an antibiotic (without telling me it was an antibiotic) and a topical which he also gave me no information on. I started the antibiotic and it made me feel terrible so I stopped, then when I went back in two weeks later, he tried to tell me 1.

He told me it was an antibiotic (not true) and 2. That no one else he's prescribed it to has had a negative experience (I find that very hard to believe, and even so, I did so why are you being rude to me about it?). That is just one example of how rude and disrespectful he was to me throughout my two appointments. This man does not care about your skin and barely takes the time to talk to you to address what you need to do to fix it. Save your time and your money and find a derm who actually cares about their patients.

I've had good experiences and results from Dr. Swinehart. He has done biopsies and they were read by a secondary pathologist. (Not sure why other reviews say they were not). He has also treated me for pscoriasis and acne. I have had significant improvement in both areas! Everyone is nice and friendly in the office as well. Appointments are quick and the scheduling has never been an issue for me. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dermatologist!

I have been going to see Dr. Swinehart for many years. I suffered with severe acne as a kid and as a result I gained deep scarring on my face. I've had several services to take care of the scarring, performed by Dr. Swinehart, which dramatically improved my appearance. This of course helped me to secure my confidence in a world that judges people by appearance.

I can tell you that Dr. Swinehart really cares about his patients, all over Colorado. He is compassionate, direct, listens, and will give you the results you are hoping for. Thank you Dr. Swinehart for your help over the years! I truly appreciate you and recommend you highly.

I should have read the reviews before I used Dr. Swinehart. The person performing the numbing was unaware of the use of Epinephrine and why it was used in this application. I was also glad I elected to only do one skin biopsy (of the 6 he proposed). Dr. Swinehart does his own pathology reports and the analysis consists of checking a diagnosis box rather than providing a written description. There is no independent review by a board certified pathologist.

Dr. Swinehart has a pleasant bedside manner and comes across as professional. I inquired at the initial visit as to the estimated cost for his services, and he very much misrepresented the actual charges which came after two areas of basal cell carcinoma were excised for biopsy. A second visit was for tissue excision at his Denver office. I thought the plastic surgery result at the bridge of my nose was not that good, but could have been worse.

His bill for two hours of face time was $6,622.00. He does his own biopsies/reports, so there is no independent assessment from another pathologist. Therefore there is every financial incentive for him to take as many tissue samples as possible, and to find as many cancer positives as possible. My insurance paid $5,666.81 which seems like generous payment to me, but he still billed me for another $938.24 which I am supposed to pay out-of-pocket. Because of the cost, I would surely look around for another dermatologist if a next time occurs.

I started seeing Dr. Swinehart 10 years for my psoriasis. Whenever my skin gets I go back to see him, and I always feel very comfortable with the treatment & recommendations I receive. The nurses and doctor have all been very helpful and super nice over the years.

This review is long overdue but still very relevant as I'm trying to treat a scar on my face that Dr. Swinehart created. In October of 2002, I saw Dr. Swinehart for shallow acne scarring, and he performed subcision on a test spot on my face. The spot, which was about the size of a quarter, swelled up and turned black and blue and the inflammation and bruising took about 6 months to go away.

I came in shortly after the procedure for a follow up visit, thinking that Dr. Swinehart would be as horrified as I was and commit to helping me, but he shrugged his shoulders, said he didn't know how that could have happened, and took no responsibility for it. A decent doctor would at least try to rectify the situation at no charge to the patient, but he proposed treatments that would cost me even more just to fix the problem that he himself created.

This has been an extremely traumatic event in my life, and it has marred my appearance. After spending hundreds of dollars with other dermatologists, I was only partially able to correct the combination of atrophic and hypertrophic scarring that resulted in this spot on my face (see picture provided) and had resigned myself, for years, to just having an ugly appearance. I've been recently looking into Bellafill to treat this, and the strong feelings of frustration are still very much present, knowing that it will cost me hundreds more and will come along with a great amount of anxiety. I would strongly advise people to stay away from this doctor, as he seems to completely lack empathy and is clearly not in it for the patient.

I didn't even want to give him 1 star! I too have scars in 5 places where this doctor cut into spots to be biopsied. He dug deep holes and then insisted that I have 23 (!) age spots/sun spots/liver spots frozen off. I had oozing sores for weeks and have scars 4 months later that will likely be permanent. He billed my insurance over $2,000. He's one of the reasons we all pay such high premiums.

I like Dr. Swinehart and his staff. I see them at the La Junta Office. He has done a lot of removals on me. I never have a problem with the results. So what if an office has dated furniture.that should not be an issue of his medical treatment. If it works, don't fix it.his office is always clean and I feel his medical treatment is great.

Doctor Swinehart is a great dermatologist. He is a master at his craft and a very enjoyable to speak with. He has the expertise, work ethic and experience that is needed to fix the patients dermatologic issues. Which is much needed in todays world when most doctors want to prescribe medicine and get you out the door. He takes pride in curing his patients. I have seen Dr. Swinehart for years and would recommend him to anybody who needs a top notch dermatologist.

My oncologist referred me to this practice last year. Although I was satisfied with my experience with Corbin Rogers, I may return to my former dermatologist since I moved to Golden. This practice is well run and efficient. I was able to meet with Corbin within a few minutes of my arrival. Would I recommend this practice? Absolutely!

Really appreciate the care I got by Dr. Swinehart and his nurse. The office is lovely and on both visits I was immediately taken back for treatment. They were incredibly thorough in my care and I felt like I was in good hands.

Got sent here by my primary care doc when he didn't like the look of a scratch on my forehead. 20 minutes of paperwork lie in front of you if you're a 1st time person -- and no that's not an exaggeration. I saw a kindly doc who had the demeanor of a beloved grandpa; he nixed all the worry-zones on me except the one the doc had sent over, and sprayed it with something like.

I don't know.liquid nitrogen. It stings. A lot. (Mine was on the forehead). 2 days later, I have a darkened patch on my forehead. Will it stay there? I don't know, and I wasn't told, and that's not exactly exemplary care. My friend said "well they love to get their $40 out of you any way they can", and that's exactly what my co-pay OOP was. I'd hate to think what it would cost without insurance. Nurses were cheerful but businesslike.

In a quiet little neighborhood close to Porter Hospital (just west), and set back a way from the road on the south side -- if you think it's at a building that is right next to the road, you are wrong.

I would never recommend Dr Swinheart. He proceeded to go forth and do the Moh's surgery on my face without explaining anything about the procedure. He told me to "look it up online", which I did. But he neglected to mentioned that I would look like Frankenstein for months, which stitches and swelling. And he couldn't understand why I was crying at the end of the appointment after seeing the massive hole he cut in my face. This guys is past his prime and needs to retire.

The receptionist told my husband they accepted our health plan, without hesitation. Of course after the procedure we received the bill and they were not in network. We called and were told by the office staff that it was our responsibility to make sure they were in network. When we asked to speak to Dr. Swinehart and explain what had happened, we were told he would not take our calls and to write him a letter.

Our letter explained the situation and requested that we be billed as self pay, which would have resulted in a discount of $200 to $350. NOPE, he wouldn't do that either. He just responded saying it was our "responsibility to make sure that their insurance covers any providers that they see". At what point is this Dr. Swinehart's responsibility to not give out false information (i.e. Do you accept our insurance? Answer - "We sure do"). Very disappointed.

Dr. Swinehart is head and shoulders above the 3 other dermatologist I visited. He is an excellent dermatologist and solved my rather serious problems very easily. Dr. Swinehart is also a wonderful human being who truly cares for his patients. He and two of his nurses travel to 2 cities in Colorado and 2 cities in Kansas who do not have dermatologist.

He comes to La Junta where I live for 2 consecutive days each month. Dr. Swinehart does this to help people in remote areas that do not have dermatologists. If I could rank him higher than 5 stars, I would rank him with 10 stars.

Very deceptive and unprofessional office - First of all, everything is OLD in here. The equipment, the rooms, everything is very very dated. I went in to get a basic service done. The doctor insisted I get a dry ice treatment. I said no. He asked what insurance I had, I told him, and he said my insurance covers that procedure fully. So, I agreed to get the dry ice treatment.

I later got a bill for the dry ice procedure, as my insurance does NOT cover it. Nothing I can do now. The whole time, the doctor is trying to talk you into getting things done that you don't need, just so he can make a dime. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this dermatologist.
