I chose to start my Healthcare journey with the Iowa Clinic because of it being physician owned and multiple specialists available. I did not realize that each time I was referred to another doctor or specialist, I'd be hit with a $280 "new patient" fee. This is such a blatant money grab. The Iowa Clinic should be considered one organization and the first new patient fee should cover any admin costs.

Extremely disappointed that masking is optional. No one is wearing them at the clinic, and COVID cases doubled this week in Iowa. This is very shortsighted.

I will always chose the Urgent Care Clinic over an ER visit. As I sit here in the waiting room, I hear others grumbling about the time spent waiting. In these days of Covid, the staff deserves appreciation over complaining. They always are thorough and kind.

I agree with George Hartney. They intentionally withhold information to your insurance and Medicare so you have to pay. Ripoff billing procedures. Avoid.

16 hours before my procedure they call to say my insurance won't pay and want me to pay $4000+ rather than bill Medicare and my supplement Ins co. Look at your bills if they would bill Medicare and supplement they would only get about 19% of the billed amount. My procedure was schedule 60+ days in advance so how many of us Seniors have they taken advantage of

The ENT office staff is rude and doesn't take accountability for their actions. One person had the audacity to add a diagnosis to my list that I didn't have, all because they said they thought it would help with a referral. I have about a dozen other things on that list, it didn't need to be padded. I will never go back. I'm having to get another surgery consult because of how horrible they are and I refuse to give them my business.

Worst care ever from my recent mammogram. Kept getting letters before Jan. 1 that I was late for my mammogram (which wasn't due until Feb) then when I called and thought it was straightened out, kept getting letters saying I was late for my mammogram. Then called in late December to schedule and was told to call back in January! When I called back in January, was told I had to have prior approval from my internal medical doctor (which has NEVER happened before). Got that done then called back a week later and they were full until March. Scheduled downtown in mid-February and got in and out with no problem.

Never got my results and called and was hung up on. Then called back and told to call my doctor?!?! Did that and they said I was fine and don't know why I haven't gotten my results in the mail. Not going to stop here. What is the problem and why is there no responsible follow through? This is NOT good practice and do not intend to go back.

Also will continue to pursue the results of my mammogram. Have NEVER had to fight for my results of any medical test before and intend to get to the bottom of this. One star is way too good for this review, but it is the lowest I can give.

I've only asked for my records 3 times, and this times, twice with nothing to show for it. This time I get this snotty letter in the mail. This is but one of several reasons why I'm switching doctors and medical facilities.

Not my first choice simply because I've always went to Mercy and had established healthcare with them, but my insurance made a deal with them and I get cheaper co pays at Iowa clinic. So the front desk lady at the urgent care seemed a little short with me when I came in. I was the second person there since I showed up right when they opened so she shouldn't have been stressed yet.

I think as the front desk person you are dealing with people who are obviously not having their best day and maybe just being a little friendlier might make these sick people feel slightly better. As far as the nurses and doctors go all my experiences with them have been pretty good. The nurses really rock. They are personable and actually listen to what you have to say.

The doctors are hit or miss like any other place, but I've at least always been taken care of and have no complaints about that. All in all it evens out to a three star. Not a place I want to ever have to go to, but glad they are here when I have to.

Iwent to Dr Iyers at another clinic for surgery, it went great but follow up complications were not dealt with professionaly, I then went to Dr Ramon Reyes at Iowa clinic gastroentorology and after several weeks was told by the drs nurse to see iowa university, no dr at the clinic would see me even though I was in pain. This clinic was exsposed for a patient that gave a negative reveiew of one of the drs and they ALL refused to treat the person.

I have NEVER seen such poor medical pratices in my 67 years-These drs refused to see a patient in pain for childish and no doubt illegal reasons-i imagine their insurrance carriers will love to hear of this-ALL the drs would not treat me for no good reason-they sent me to dumpster like children and this is not the first time they have behaved this way-stay clear

I wrote a review not too long ago about how bad this clinic deal with problems with their patients and how disorganized they are. I got a call from Lisa one of the nurse managers at the clinic she is new there she wanted to get things fix and asked what was the problem, she had their side of the story but wanted to listen my side I explained her what happened from the beginning and had things clear with her and I was happy she listened and wanted to do things right everything got clear and offered an apology for the way the other employees did handle my situation.to know this clinic has a employee who cares about her job and the patients means a lot thank you LISA

This place Is INCOPMETENT!. I was told I need a referral from my family doctor to see their specialist. my family doctor sent the referral three weeks ago! Family doctor explained they were to call me to arrange an appointment. Never happened! this is now six weeks since I was told I need to see a specialist at this Clinic from my family practitioner who has been treating me for over a year.

The Iowa Clinic PROCEDURE is to first send me to their Practitioner. Then if needed schedule with a doctor. I refused this. I know have a doctors appointment end of January.4 months after I was told to see a specialist by my doctor, referring me to Iowa Clinic. Procedurally, this place is a mess. No wonder Mayo is so highly regarded, and our the cost of medical care is so fucking high. Incompentence and bureurcacy. They don't give a shit because failure doesn't hurt them.

Thus far, I have had nothing but positive experiences with The Iowa Clinic. However, today, I had the worst and most unprofessional experience with a doctor that I have EVER HAD. I would absolutely, unequivocally NEVER EVER recommend seeing DR. CASPER. The way he spoke to me today was out of line and unprofessional.

The pain management clinic is a joke. They will drop you as a patient for any minor thing and leave you without your medicine. They don't care. They make u wait 7-10days to fill your prescription even if you are out of meds. Always a long wait there for the doctor. Some of the receptionist are unfriendly. They don't care about their patients and they don't care about your time.

The Iowa Clinic is a fantastic facility. The service is absolutely wonderful. I had an 8:30 appointment and got there at 8:20; I was seen in less than 10 minutes (I checked in online! Super easy!) The staff was wonderful and very caring. I was in and out in about 45 minutes! Highly recommend.

The Urology department is one of the worst departments I've ever experienced. We had a one o'clock appointment and checked in on an electronic tablet. Patients that had come in after us went in and when we asked why, the receptionist said that there was paper work that needed to be filled out. We never got any paperwork. The paper work was how the nurses knew you were there.

The receptionist did nothing to correct this matter or apologize. It wasn't until 1:45 that my husband was called back. Entirely unprofessional front office staff. Because of the receptionist I would advise not going here. Go some place that you are taken care of and given the respect you deserve as a patient.

What I love about this place - everything's here! You don't have to make a million appointments all over Des Moines, because it's all here. ENT, imaging, women's health, pediatrics, urgent care, etc. Every time I've been in, I'm seen within 5 minutes of my appointment. Staff super nice & helpful.

Your time is of no value to them. Told me to come 25 minutes early. I did. Went into the room 10 minutes late. I am now an hour and 15 minutes past my appointment and still waiting. I have had apology but that doesn't fix the other things I had to do that I have cancelled.
