Cary Internal Medicine & The Diabetes Center was established in 1979 by Fred C. Oliver, MD. He practiced medicine until his retirement in June of 2001. It remains the oldest medical practice to continue providing medical care in Cary. His residency was completed at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. Before beginning his practice here in Cary, he was an attending physician at Carolina Medical Associates in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Juneja is a board certified internist with the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and The North Carolina Medical Society.

In the event that we do not participate with your particular insurance plan, you may still be seen by one of our doctors. Payment in full is expected at the time of service. We gladly accept personal checks, cash, MasterCard/Visa/Discover credit cards and debit cards. If your check is returned by your bank for insufficient funds or for any other reason, a $30 service charge will be charged to your account.

Dr Juneja is the best diagnostic doctor I have ever seen. Provide clear and accurate information and treatment with no prescription medication unless absolutely called for. Very friendly, happy and a great listener. He replaced Dr Fred Oliver, a highly respected doctor in CARY for many years. I highly recommend Dr. Juneja without reservation. He is the best.

I have been seeing Dr. Juneja at this office for several years. During this Covid 19 times, I expected proper mask usage by him. During my annual check up last week he consistently handled his mask and often allowed it to fall beneath his nose. Once he pulled it below his mouth and at that point I told him I was very uncomfortable with his use of the mask and asked him to cover both his nose and his mouth, which he did.

Dr Patel is the only reason to visit the office. He is wonderful, extremely bright, and has a great bedside manner. I highly recommend him. However, the rest of the office staff has a ridiculous attitude - seemingly that we are there to serve them. I have T1 diabetes and wasn't receiving the level of care I was used to back home (San Francisco). Front office was rude - refusing to offer to send a letter of recommendation to Duke until, like a child, I had to have my husband get on the line. Then, it didn't go through and I was again met with attitude.
Enough to make you laugh if it wasn't an extremely serious disease. It's important to also note that Dr Patel's assistant was very kind. She took her time accomplishing tasks, but I dont mind that. She got it right. Dr Patel once told me that his front office is an extension of himself. But, no. He is professional, caring and an excellent listener.
Bottom line: if you're looking for the serious, traditional endocrinology to treat Type one diabetes, diabulimia or thyroid issues don't waste time dealing with rude front staff. But, Dr Patel himself made me feel welcome into his practice immediately.
