Things started out while until my doctor resigned. I was assigned a new doctor and now I have a 4 month wait to see him. The last time I was sick and needed to be seen someone from DAP told me to go to the Eisenhower Urgent care down the street because they didn't have the time to see me. You are not allowed to be seen by a different provider at the clinic.

When I asked to move to a different provider who had availability I was told I had to come to the clinic in person and make the request. I was told a bureaucrat, administrator Brett, would then need to review and approve the request. They said it takes Brett 4-6 weeks to review the request decide to approve or deny it. This is unacceptable. Clearly the doctor is overwhelmed with patients and DAP as an organization clearly isn't interested in addressing the problem based on what I have been told from their representatives. I would not recommend DAP for primary care.

What's going on with this place? The lights are on, but no one's home. I tried several times to get services from this place and there was always some lame excuse for rejecting me. What a waste of time. I have one thing to say to DAP.bye Felicia!

I have been a client at Desert AIDS Project for 30 years. They have helped me and a lot of my neighbors for years. I am SO grateful to this organization for their help & support! DAP Health accepts HIV- clients RECENTLY and as a result the HIV+ clients suffer if not get totally ignored. I continue to support this Agency and hope they remember "Who Brought Them To The Dance." It was not the current CEO.

Doesn't the revolving H R door con- cern anyone? Try getting ahold of anyone in the building---VOICE MAIL KINGS with no response. Should you get a call back most likely it will be a "blocked caller".? At this time I am, unfortunately, suggesting STAY AWAY. Read all reviews. To point out all their current flaws is not possible in a single review! Stay away!

First off I'd like to thank everyone from the clinic because they have been nothing but the best. From the receptionist who I can not recall her name(Sweet beautiful black lady), Tiffany, Sergio, Andy, and the guy that helped me out with setting an appt on the same day. He even gave me a gift card, I simply can not recall his name but so thankful for him.

They are absolutely the best. They never make you feel any type of bad way, they literally will make you feel comfortable. A visit at the doctor's office can usually be very nerve-wracking and scary but the way they treat you with respect and just tell you their personal experiences and such usually makes you feel a whole lot better. It's a drive for me since I live in Coachella but it's definitely worth the drive. They also told me that they plan on opening up a clinic in Indio which is going to help out so much people closer to the Eastern part of the valley.

What a joke this place is! I had went in there to get tested for HIV and then they asked if I wanted to continue seeing a primary doctor at the location, I was told that they offered all kinds of extra dental, physical therapy, counseling, but nothing was ever offered to me. The primary doctor put in a referral for a surgeon they had trouble with my insurance months and months went by I had to keep on emailing them and they finally said that they don't except my insurance there because I don't live in the area, after I had already seen my primary doctor several times. They do not care, The staff walks around like they are better than everyone else, it's really sad and pathetic!

I was a patient there for 7 years. I was assigned a new Doctor I did not like, and when I complained I was told I could no longer be seen by clinic. DAP is a perfect example of a facility that started out with a good mission but got to big and no longer cares about the patient. They seem more worried about interior design of the place and constantly remodeling. It would be nice if they treated the patient as well as they do the building.

My doctor recommended I participate in the Anchor study at DAP. I jumped through hoops to get my health insurance HMO to agree. It took months of back and forth between Dr./Kaiser/Anchor study and a lot of time and frustration. My insurance finally agreed, I completed all the registration paperwork for the study and submitted. It went into a black hole and I never heard back anything.even after multiple phone messages, emails to those running the study, Months have passed. Total lack of response/customer service/competence. They have no credibility.

DAP client for 3+ years. Nursing staff excellent. Expansion of Nurse Practitioner and Physician Asst. with scrip writing authority. spot on! One disturbing criticism. You are constantly reminded by nurses and then your doctor I have to complete this appt in (it is something between 12-15 min) before they depart. In complicated cases. No time for further question. Recently, after an 8 week illness with a 25lb weight drop in 5 weeks (5'10.

Now 125 lbs). Have good sense of my body and was raised by a very smart mother who was a well trained BA RN. My doctor, whom I like and clinically I trust, arrived for AM apt. And was frenetic. He asked me smart questions, i answered. I ended stating perhaps my meds were failing. its happened to me twice before. Just my thought. Dictor response - a nervous, LOUD, speed of light instruction of all the data he needed before he would consider any med change.

He only stopped when I held up my hands and said hush. I cant hear you you are speaking to fast. Though not his intent, I felt I had been yelled at loudly. He then refused a request for a warm saline hydration I V so I could give blood. My weight loss left me dangerously dehydrated. He refused. His reason. i don't think your insurance will accept the IV charge as medically necessary.! good doctor stressed to the point his level of care is dropping Clinical decisions driven by $ at a not-for profit! Pattient(me) to date only able to give 2 out of 8 vials of blood. Appalled it is $ concern first at a not-for Which leads me to the LABCORP FACILITIES on site.

Excellent patient friendly staff A++++. The office/waiting area is one room that looks into a 2 bay side by side injection. Total clinical/lobby/office space combined? Approximately 300 square feet. The most important and heavily used

When I came to Palm Springs about a year ago, I was told to go to DAP for great excellent care. At first I called and left a message to which nobody responded to. So I left a couple of emails and left vm to which nobody responded. So I was able to speak to some one on the board and finally got set up. At first this was great. THEN Covid hit and the great customer care went out the window.

I called yesterday to provide my new number, and book my vaccines. Their receptionist needs to attend a class on how to provide excellent customer service. Several times she has been very rude. Cuts you off as you are trying to explain what it is you need and then begrudgingly puts you through or provides assistance. When I did talk to the person who took care of my appointment and vaccines she was very pleasant and took the time with my concerns.

She then told me that for blood work I can go to the lab as there was an order for me. I went to have my blood draw and the guy at the front said as of this morning they are only taking appointments. I tried to explain that their was an order for me and said I needed an appointment. Another person who needs a class in customer service. So I called the doctors office which was right there and got the same ugly person from before.

Again tried to explain and was told they have no association with the lab and had plenty of attitude. She said if that is their policy.and wouldn't put me through to the nurse practioner I normally see so I could see if there was something he could do. Si I thanked her for being so nasty and rude. If this is the way they treat people I am amazed that they are still open.

Overall a solid satisfactory healthcare clinic. Friendly staff, small yet great lab staff and a well kept beautiful facility. Case management and employment services could use some improvement in areas of social outreach to clients in the community and those struggling with mental health and or substance use issues. Some clients report feeling judged by staff and providers for some of their presenting issues and struggles.

Not sure this agency can always respond to some challenging cases with clients experiencing mental health issues and other medical issues if clients are a bit resistant or negative. Not sure all staff are well trained in harm reduction methods and de escalation techniques instead preferring more grateful clients. I have had a mostly positive experience with staff and providers but do think room for improvement as a social worker and counselor of 30 years

Avoid. I'm HIV positive and was a client with a primary care physician there UNTIL now. In January, I called to ask about a COVID test because I had been exposed. I was then JUDGED for how I was exposed. He SNICKERED and then asked ". why?" I was like OH F NO! lol And then he AND his supervisor took me to task. A third woman called me back and DRESSED ME DOWN for not licking their boots and then said "But.

We had a cancelation. You can come in at 3." I ended up canceling the appt because -- why would I go into that den of snakes who literally tried to make me feel bad for trying to get a COVID test and not accepting judgmental interactions from AN AIDS ORG. Do they ask people exactly why they need an HIV test? Then I reached out to my friend who works in fundraising there who quickly clammed up and towed the company line. "Doctor" Chris Foltz needs bedside manner training. Staring at a computer and typing and saying almost nothing is. not what I expect out of American healthcare. This organization is far astray from its North Star, whatever that may have been. Power, and money are the game over there, it looks like from where I sit.

How very sad, a cause I have donated to and yet when I called today about getting tested for covid because I have symptoms, I was brushed off by a dude with an attitude. When looking for donations they are all about the people except for when you need them! never again!

The service and care at DAP in my opinion has completely collapsed. The office staff are disinterested and medical providers are entitled, complacent and non - responsive. If you need to be seen without an appointment, you may as well give up, just go to an ER someplace. They take no responsibility for your care and treatment here and they will defer all blame to you, the client.

Don't risk your life with these people, there are other care options in the Desert! Personally, I have filed a grievance with my insuror and with the State of California as well. Good luck be careful.

Some of the worst service from all employees both times I have gone here. I was turned away for COVID testing after being symptomatic and a positive exposure, the employee literally told me I violated regulations for being past curfew with MY JOB AS AN ESSENTIAL HEALTH CARE WORKER. Oh and I was "not symptomatic enough" despite informing him multiple times that my exposure was not voluntary and that I am high risk due to some personal health issues. Thank you guys Really appreciate the compassion.

Monday morning I woke after a bad night of sleep and 99 temp. By 9 am the temp was 101.8. I called the VA and was put thru bureaucracy hell to get help. I called DAP and explained my symptoms and they scheduled a test at 2pm. As fast as Tuesday afternoon I received my negative results. I really appreciate the support DAP showed!

I've been a patient here for about six months and recently changed insurnace and one of my medications was denied. When that happened an entire team, specifically Denise Leon and John Machado, jumped in on my behalf advocating for me and working to get me the medication I needed as quick as possible. Something that would have taken me weeks of fighting with an insurance company was handled in two days. I'm incredibly grateful for not only the care I receive here but also at the breadth of support services that work in the background to help manage my health.

I contacted John Machado, a case worker at DAP, because I needed some guidance in transitioning my medical care and prescription needs over to DAP using my insurance provider. John was incredibly friendly over the phone and knowledgeable about the essential steps I needed to take to make this transition a success. Additionally, he explained many services offered at DAP I was not aware of including acupuncture and chiropractor services. I so appreciate what Joh did for me and I feel much more at ease on making this much needdd transition for all my health care needs.

I wanted to put a shout out for John Machado at DAP. He has been so helpful and always available and happy to provide valuable suggestions for amazing the resources that are available for me and my family in the community. It is always so refreshing to speak to him as you always walk away feeling better about yourself and the situation you are dealing with at the time. Hats off! to John!

I was referred to this organization from members of a Facebook Group. Had I looked at the reviews on Yelp first, I probably would've missed the DAP since the reviews on here are mixed. I decided to give them a call and they scheduled an appointment within 2 days, granted that I bring all the necessary paperwork they needed. Phew. I didn't have to wait for 6 weeks to see a doctor like Kaiser Permanente.

The staff here are truly amazing. I felt embarrassed at first since I was uninsured and needed financial assistance with a prescription refill but I didn't feel judged in any way. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to Nikki Martinez, as well as Trent and David in the Sexual Health Clinic department for being compassionate members and making me feel at ease. Keep up the great work!

When this organization first originated I would assume 30+ years ago it probably was a godsend. But over the last decade or longer it is just been a for profit organization. Funding is through Ryan White, Riverside County Health and Human Services and other grants. they used to provide their clients up until May 2019 a $50 month gift card to Stater brothers that has been eliminated due to the state of California now giving food stamps to those that don't make enough money.

They have eliminated their discount program for the DAP client's at revivals although if your a veteran or a senior you still getting a discount. And on top of that as a DAP client when I would go to revivals and tell them I was a client I had to present to them HIV status in order to get a discount, if you're a veteran or a senior you do not to provide any documentation.

When I first moved to the Coachella Valley six years ago I became a client of DAP they screwed up everything they could screw up. I had NOT transfer my medical services there due to medical issues I was going through at the time because of how DAP case management Handled/ mis handled previously. I was definitely not putting my health into their hands with my medial and to this day still have not.

They WORST place to get a knowledgeable Real Dr. have to say my experience was below -0 percent. They could not get my blood work because I did not use there " preferred blood place they send you too" and because you use your one they say, they did not get all the test they requested. BS They are below expertise of any health professionals

The staff at this facility lack compassion and professionalism. I provided management with a laundry list of complaints regarding Dr. Singh which was acknowledged but ignored. She was so hostile on my first visit that I refused to be alone with her. Homophobia, misdiagnosis, wrongful termination of medicine previously prescribed to ease ailments, fat shaming, physical revulsion when I described physical symptoms, lying about the effects and causes of medicine, refusing to properly exam, arguing that I didn't know my stats when the medical records said otherwise, man bashing, etc.

It ended when she vehemently diagnosed me with a staph infection then refused to treat it. I filed the complaint (with proof and an eyewitness), sent it to management, got a follow-up call where nothing about the situation was discussed and all they did was remove me from her care. I hate going to labs because I'm bombarded with negativity. The nurses make fun of the patients and punish the ones they hate.

The nurse bragged about the hilarious pranks they pull on them as revenge. Part of my medical insurance was canceled. I scheduled an appointment for a case worker. I met with two representatives. On the first, I signed countless forms (including a violence clause) and was given hope that the case manager would resolve it. The second appointment consisted of the case manager explaining everything the clinic had to offer, signing more paperwork, sexual innuendo and asking personal sexual questions all to conclude they were incapable of helping me. Insufferable. I could use a lot of the programs the clinic offers but I am deathly afraid to be alone with anyone at this facility.
