Services
We have an automated phone system to transfer your calls directly to the desk of the person who can help you. If you are referred to an answering machine, please don't be discouraged: It means the staff person is on another line, or temporarily away from her desk. The answering machines have been installed to prevent you from being left on hold during our busy periods.
Our answering machine will give you instructions on how to reach the doctor on call during off-hours. Instructions will be given on how to leave your phone number which will be sent to the after-hours contact. If your phone does not accept blocked calls you must push *87 on your phone to disable this feature which will allow us to return your emergency phone call.
Please present your insurance card at the time of your visit. If we file your claim, you are responsible for the co-pay at the time of visit. If we are not a provider for your insurance, if you are not insured, or we do not file with your insurance company, you may be responsible for the entire charge at the time of service.
It is crucial when choosing a pediatric practice for your children that you have given serious consideration to the fit between the practice philosophies and your own. Excellent care happens when the physicians and office staff are aligned with your family priorities and philosophies regarding medical care.

I am a mom of 7 kids and can't speak highly enough about Drexel Hill Peds! We moved here from Tennessee about 3 years ago and our pediatrician in TN (who is also one of my best friends, and loves my kids like they are her own) recommended Drexel Hill Peds. We have been very happy with the office staff, with the medical care given to our kids both during well-check visits and in emergencies.
The nursing staff is always helpful, if I call with an emergency, at directing me on the best course. Our 5 boys see Dr. McCarthy and our 2 girls see Dr. Kostelnic, but we've been seen, always the same day needed, by several other doctors in the office. I've been impressed with all of them and my kids have received excellent care for everything from complex broken bones to rashes to ear infections to allergy care.
We do have an anaphylactic food allergy, and a couple of kids with cerebral palsy - so not just a "typical" healthy gorup of patients! We require a lot of our doctors and have not been disappointed with Drexel Hill Peds.

I love this place the staff and doctors is very friendly and caring Dr McCarthy is the best you can tell he really care about his patients. When you make appointment they have you in and out on time. No waiting all day me and my wife been taking our three boys there for 4 years and we are happy with everything it feels like family there.

We love Drexel Hill Pediatrics! Their pediatricians have taken care of our son (nearly 3-years-old) since he was born (even when he was still in the nursery at Riddle Hospital). He has mostly been cared for by Dr. Sonia Jain. She is fantastic! She always takes time to listen to our concerns, and has an excellent bedside manner with our son. Recently they told us about their upcoming move, and we're excited to see their new office in May!

Have been going to Drexel Hill Pediatrtics since they were located at Garrett and Shadeland. I have taken my now two year old since birth and have seen numerous caring doctors there. Past few visits have been with Dr. McCarthy at my request due to his pleasant demeanor, diagnostic skill and compassionate nature. Will continue to travel there after the impending relocation.

We love DHPA! Dr Mathew McCarthy is both of my children's doctor (1 boy & 1 girl) He is very caring and kind! He has patience when dealing with my very chatty 7 yr old. He takes the time to make sure all of my questions/concerns have been taken care of. Very professional, my children will be going to him until they age out! Great staff too. everyone is so very nice when we have to come in for appointments or call when children are sick!

We switched from another local pediatrician office, and couldn't be happier with the decision. My kids (3 & 1) see Dr. McCarthy, and he is great. He listens when we have concerns, talks us through everything and actually knows our family. The front desk is wonderful and the women that work up there are kind. When you call for a sick appt, sometimes the wait is a little long, but they always squeeze us in when we need to be seen. Overall, an amazing office!
