Services
Ours is a family-centered practice, and we welcome the opportunity to care for as many of your immediate family as you wish. We believe that family-centered care results in a more complete and practical knowledge of your family's health and your individual needs. We strongly believe in prevention first and in healthy life habits, and we emphasize these wellness concepts in our practice.
Howard Silcoff, M.D. is Board certified in Family Practice. He was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He received both his undergraduate degree in physiology, and his MD degree from McGill University in Montreal. He went on to complete residency training at McGill's Queen Elizabeth Hospital in July of 1996.
We emphasize patient education, preventive health advice, and patient involvement in health care. A comprehensive health plan is outlined in our preventive screening handout. It explains how frequently children and adults should be seen for preventive checkups and details the frequency of certain laboratory and diagnostic tests as well as the most important health habits you should follow.
We are committed to providing you with the best possible medical care, regardless of whether or not you have health insurance. In order to achieve this goal, we need your assistance and your understanding of our payment policy. The fees that we charge are within the usual range for our area and specialty.

Today 08/26/21 Would not see me to help me with the worst tooth pain of my life. Told me to just take ibuprofin and the antibiotics I was prescribed and that if I came in the office essentially there was nothing they could do. Doctors have an obligation to treat the pain of their patients and if they are not doing so they are failing their community.

Who do we go to when we are having pain that makes us unable to do any of our daily tasks or job. And hopefully you don't have a job because how are you going to do your job when all you can think off is the pain in your tooth. Good luck to anyone in pain who is going to visit this office. Anyone who has dealt with tooth pain knows how painful it can get.

It's no joke and very serious. These doctors have forgotten the code they swear too, to do no harm to any patient. Backstory: Dentist had pulled my tooth because it was infected and the tooth next to it had started to hurt. The dentist (Star Dental Cortland) said he would not prescribe anything stronger then ibuprofin and the antibiotics he had given me. I am in horrible pain what am I to do then? This is why i called their office and was met with this response.

I love this office I see Keli Hector and she truly is one of the best health care providers I have ever had. Good things take time so a little wait is so worth it. Outstanding care.

I've been generally happy with DFM for the last three years. Yes, I've had to wait for 20-30 minutes a few times but this is a small price to pay for a doctor who gives me the time I need, does not make me feel rushed and actually listens to my concerns. The nurses and office staff are very friendly and accommodating as well. DFM is convenient for me and I like that it has an in-house lab.

My only issue is that the check-in window is wide open to the waiting room and should have sliding glass windows. I have clearly heard conversations that should have taken place privately.

We always have to wait for over a hour to even get into the room to see the doctor. That's not mentioning the 20 minute wait in that room. So dont plan any events after your appoappoint. Chances are you will be late. In other words pack a lunch you have will have a wait! Doctors are good but the wait is worse than any other place I have been.

It's a great drs office but plan to spend at least an hour minimum here. The wait time is awful! I've sat for 3 hours before being seen by a dr. and then when he did come in, he was in and out in 5 minutes.

Love the staff and Dr Silcoff is the best Dr I've ever had. I drive an hour to get to Dryden just to see him and the staff. Thank you Dryden Family Medicine!

I started going there when Dr. Kelly Hektor moved to this practice. I am 38 yes old and she is BY FAR the best doctor I have ever seen. I am unfortunate in that I have some health issues, so I have seen more doc's than I care to remember. But Dr. Hektor always had time for me, listened to everything I had to say, was available for same day appointments and could really relate as a working mom.

She is easygoing, knowledgeable about many subjects and willing to try different treatments until you are doing better. I cannot speak any higher of this wonderful medical professional. The only reason she is no longer my doctor is because unfortunately I moved out of state. But, believe me, if I could convince her to move close to where I live now I would do whatever it took.

If you are looking for someone who truly cares (and actually listens.well enough to recall minor facts months later!) Or you are new in town you will be soooooooo grateful if you choose this practice and especially Dr. Hektor! She is one of a kind and an example to the rest of her profession!

I have been with Dryden Family Medicine since I was 5 years old. I currently live an hour and a half away from Dryden but will not give up my Doctor :.
