Macular degeneration is a common eye disorder that slowly damages a person's central vision. It is currently the top cause for vision loss in people over age 55. The macula is located near the center of the eye's retina. It is part of the inside back layer of the eyeball and helps to convert light and images into our central vision.
The retina, found in the back of the eye, is a delicate transparent tissue that covers the interior wall of your eye. It converts visual images into signals that are transmitted to your brain. If the retina becomes damaged, these images are blurred. Vision can be lost if damage is severe and treatment does not occur in time.

Daughter referred by local eye Dr. for diabetic retinopathy 6 mos. ago. Wait was long, had several tests and needed an injection, couldn't keep dye down so lasered eye instead w/ follow up in 6 mos. The Dr was very thorough. She's a widow with one child at home, brings home $419 twice a month, mortgage, utilities, insurance etc. total over her income.

She has Medicaid and employee ins w/ a high deductible but, wasn't told at first visit that Medicaid isn't accepted even though they made a copy. During office call to confirm 2nd appt, we were told the previous co-pay had to be paid prior to visit - we assumed Medicaid had paid. We we're told she could apply for a hardship deduction at 2nd visit but not told paper copies are required.proof.

Person over finances very rude, stating that her payroll direct deposit on the phone is not acceptable proof. All expenses and income have to be original copies. No compassion whatsoever. Her dad and I helped as much as possible but he passed away a month ago and my income is reduced 50%. Very sad and dismaying when money is the bottom line.

Interminable wait times. Horrible. Doctors are fantastic, BUT, do not expect less than a 2 and 1/2 hour visit!

Was referred by my eye doctor to Retina Health Center. I Called and they asked if I could hold, I said yes. I was cleaning my house while holding and I was on hold for ONE HOUR before finally giving up. Called back and they answered instantly asked if I could hold please, I said sure. Was on hold for another 10 minutes before finally giving up. This location is either SEVERELY understaffed or they don't value the time of others at all.

So far they are off to a BAD start. Finally they called me the next day to schedule an appointment (they received my referral from my doctor). Overall the appointment was okay; not stellar but not horrible either. Depending on your issue, set aside a few hours of your day for the appointment. I was in there 2 hours; they use multiple rooms for different testing.

To Dr. Eaton; My mother cried after leaving. *Update she is still is crying by the lack of care of the doctor, by how rushed he treated her, and his lack of empathy*My mother is disable(wheelchair bound) and she was getting her annual checkup and she wanted to talk about a pain in her eye and some lights she was seeing.no only ignored her, the doctor barely even checked her properly, then he told her she was fine and to check with her doctor if she needs a referral. She felt so mistreated by this doctor that after we left she started crying and still still is crying. I will proceed to report this doctor to the board.

I met with Dr. Eaton today and I like him the only constructive criticism I have is the waiting time is too long. I waited over two hours to see Dr. Eaton which took all of 10-15 minutes once he finally came in. I realize that it takes time for the eyes to dilate but waiting that long seems a bit extreme. Maybe a look at the scheduling process would help eliminate long waits.

I know many doctors schedule several patients at the same time slot which can cause delays. During COVID-19 I noticed the waiting room was not at all filled so maybe a patient took more time which I understand and that can cause delays for others. I did go out in the hallway and ask how long a wait and the staff gave me an idea which by the way I think the staff could be a bit more friendlier. There was no apology for my wait either and I realize the doctor and staffs time is important but so are the patients. Thank You

If you are looking for a caring staff, caring physicians you may want to try another doctor's office. Unless you are on Medicare or Medicade you cannot afford these physicians. Times in my life when I have been treated worse, NONE!

The staff was rude (like most corporate doctors offices) but my doctor and her assistants were great. I must say honestly that she rushed too quickly and I am not convinced of my diagnosis so I am going to search for a second opinion. However, chances are she is correct. The only reason why I have doubts was because she rushed so quickly.

I've been seeing Dr. Eaton for wet ARMD for over two years. During the summer I head north and have received shots from two different doctors up there. No one gives a shot as good as Dr. Eaton. The staff is also very professional and nice. If you are in need of a great doctor and clinic I highly recommend Dr. Eaton and Retinal Health Center. I'm very thankful for all that's being done to save my eyesight.

I was referred to Doctor Eaton Due to the fact that my eye doctor thought I might have a tear in my retina. As soon as I came to see Doctor Eaton, he immediately performed laser surgery on my retina to stop the tearing. He saved my eyesight. Thank you doctor Eaton. I really appreciate everything you did. I am very grateful for this center. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would recommend Retina Health Center to everyone.
