A gradual blurring of vision; in fact you might not realize objects have lost crisp, defined edges. Glare or light sensitivity, most noticeable while driving at night or by increased sensitivity to sunlight. The most common type of cataract is related to aging of the eye. Other causes include family history, medical problems such as diabetes, injury to the eye, medications such as steroids, long-term unprotected exposure to sunlight. Avoid too much exposure to ultraviolet light (sunlight) by wearing a hat and/or using sunglasses.
For more than 50 years, eye surgeons have been removing the aging natural lens and replacing it with a permanent intraocular lens to restore clear vision. Until recently, patients had no true choice in the type of replacement lens that was implanted. Advances in technology have created more options and we want you to be fully informed of these choices prior to your Lens Evaluation visit. Most patients hope that by removing the cloudy, cataract lens they'll enjoy vision similar to what they had when they were younger.
Elmquist Eye Group offers Bladeless Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery designed to improve the precision, safety and accuracy of cataract removal. The Femtosecond laser system automates three steps of cataract surgery that were previously performed manually: creating the anterior capsulotomy which involves making a circular incision within the eye, fragmenting the cataract and making laser incisions on the corneal plane.
Cataracts occur when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy. If you are over the age of 60 you probably have cataracts. The good news about cataracts is that they are curable. Cataract surgery involves removing of the eye's natural lens (where cataracts form) and replacing it with an artificial lens. Modern cataract surgery is among the most successful of all surgical procedures performed in the United States.
Dr. Yasaira Rodriguez is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cosmetic procedures and has always had a passion for surgery and facial aesthetics. Very disappointing experience today! I have been a patient of this office ever since we moved to Cape Coral (9 years). I lost one of the plastic lens in my glasses after the screw came undone. I was told by the optician on location that replacement lens would cost $900.00 JUST for the lens. Today I had an full eye exam and the Ophthalmologists said there was little change in my eyesight from my last exam.

When I went to this same optician on location she said there was a significant change in my prescription (10 minutes after I saw the Ophthalmologist ). Now I'm questioning if I wasted a 2 hour visit because I have no confidence as to which prescription is correct, OR is this an attempt to get me to purchase new lenses by the optician? If the lens cost $900.00 I can speculate with new frames the cost would be in the range of $1,500.00. Post note: Don't believe their response below. There was no confusion. They screwed up and their prices were outrageous! I'll never go back!

Money making scam Went for a contact lense exam. Had to pay $ 250.00.forvthe exam, than they told me I need contact lense in my right eye for astigmatism.tried it and nearly had a bad accident driving home. Called them up.and asked them.for a trial pair of my regular prescription but in Acuvue Dailies since they told me to switch over. 2 weeks later had to go.back.to pick the trial lenses up.

Today went back to have the fit of the lenses checked and pick up prescription Was charged another $ 108.00.for the check.up of the lense fitting BYW.on line 90 day supplies comes to $.75.00, Elmquist wanted to charge for the same lenses $ 220.00 Will never ever go back there

Forcing people to wear masks to enter. i believe this is technically illegal when no state mandates exist. either way this place should be avoided if you value your freedom.

I just received a bill from them for $15 from my appointment which was over 6 months ago. Since my appointment, my wife had her appointment too and also ordered a pair of $1000 prescription sunglasses. As a matter of courtesy, I would expect them to waive a mere $15 where the matter was paid in full at the time of the visit - or so I thought, anyway. I told them I would pay the $15 or they would lose me as a customer. It was Belinda's choice to lose us as patients. This is their mindset.

Have gone there for years, but now 2 years in a row on my annual wellness visit they charge me $120 more than my copay. My insurance covers annual wellness visits, so that is what I schedule. They say it doesn't qualify as I had a condition that they look at? This is upsetting, and I or my family won't go back.
