As a nurse. I have read the yelp reviews for hospitals i have worked at. Although my father passed away during his visit at EMC. the staff was amazing. My dad was admitted for 3 weeks and unfortunately had an illness that wasn't curable. But the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and aids all helped my father. They tried everything tj give him a fighting chance at survival.

And when the time was right for hospice care, they helped us initiate that while in the hospital. He was able to have in hospital hospice. I know he touched everyone's life's that he interacted with during his admission. And they most definitely touched ours. Take what you read with a grain of salt. unfortunately not everyone that comes to hospital will make it out. But take a closer look at the staff that are working really hard to help you if your family member.

If you can make the trip to any other hospital, you should! This is the worst place to come! Horrible service! Receptionist are flat out lazy asf! Just goes to show you can put a million dollars into this hospital in revocations but if you don't change the staff the you will still have a shit hospital just nicer hallways! Way to go Emanuel.

If only ZERO stars was possible. Im currently pregnant and went in do to pain in my left side. I came out in even more pain a feeling miserable with my results. I was told my pregnancy was not viable and I would need a D&C. Never was I given a copy of my ultrasound, told I had a cyst on my left ovary or that my blood pressure was extremely high. I was told straight away that my pregnancy was not viable with no real explanation.

I was also told HCG was not important during pregnancy! Here I am 2 weeks later with a healthy pregnancy and zero complications. I will NEVER seek medical attention at this ER.

By far the worse hospital I've been too! Registration employees are clueless as to they are not allowed to answer any questions. I waited in the waiting room "awaiting results". Triage continued to give me the run arounds stating that my results we're done and I should be called shortly. 5 hours later I am still here! The charge nurse was supposed to check and see what was happening but never got back to me.

His excuse "they are running my swab right now since they have so many"! All patients in waiting room are all new patients! I was also placed in a room to see the PA, which I shared room with them and could here all private information as well as they can hear mine. Talk about HIPPA!

One star because you have to pick something. I posted my horrible experience at this place 4 years ago. Reading through reviews today and see exact same complaints that I've heard for decades. At least Emily S. has a full time job telling everyone how sorry she is to hear the news.

They tried to call and resolve the issue which I will give an extra star for that. But I will say. 9k for emergency room? This is insane. With that being said I still haven't received my results for all the exams and testing they did. Please do not go to this places.

Not one nurse, ER tech, or other emergency department employee helped me during my visit. I sat in pain, tears, and agony with absolutely no help! Not one of your employees is a compassionate worker. I have been in the medical field for more a decade (9+ in an ER) and have never seen such poor patient care treatment from everyone in that facility.

I even reached out to the Emergency Department director 5 days ago and never got a call back. I would never return to this facility and never would I recommend my family, friend or any of my patients to your facility. This is not what Tenet stands for and you have failed the medical system and helping those in need medically. Shame on this facility for not doing what they are hired to do.

This was the worse experience anyone could ever go through! This is not an emergency physician more like a disrespectful clown. He is not worthy of any cent from this visit. He was not willing to listen nor put my health as a priority. He never treated me he sent me to the waiting room where I sat unattended for 7+ hours. When I got called back to the consultation room (the worse setting for a patient who had been sitting in a wheelchair who should have been lying down). The max words exchanged with this so called physician were countable on my hands and the care from the discharge nurse was rude and rushed.

Again this facility has been the worse experience coming from someone who works in this field. This field is not for everyone. The medical field is meant for people who are compassionate and are there to support and help all patients despite backgrounds, appearance or whatever the case maybe. Sadly, I never encountered a true medical professional. This is not a medical facility!

This place is a joke. Do yourself a big favor and please DO NOT go to their emergency department. 6 hrs wait and I literally had to give up. Please go to memorial or doctors in Modesto for emergency. Spoke to the nurse named 'Natalie' who was super rude. Could simply tell staff hasn't been properly trained to treat people the right way. If pain is 8-9/10 and they keep you on wait for 6 hours ( would have been more but I just left ) and say you are ' our low priority patient', I do see this as a huge problem.

I was literally bleeding internally. Never go here even by mistake. There are far better places nearby. Someone who visits here not being sick, even they will end up becoming sick. Horrible atmosphere. I thought I was the only one who experienced this, but after reading the reviews they all look aligned. Wait for 5+ hours with rude staff.

I came in keeled over from stomach pain and nausea. Couldn't sit up right or lay down on the benches in the waiting room. Was threatened by security Juan O to either sit on a bench in the ER or to wait outside. Update: the lack of urgency demonstrated by the staff is honestly shameful

Update to my last review update: *Info listed within the log-in area to their patient/client website where I was viewing results for several X-rays I had less than 3 days ago. The information is posted immediately below & in quotation marks as I copied & pasted it: Update: "Beginning Monday, April 5, your My Health Rec patient portal will display results as soon as they become available.

You may see your results posted before your care team. Your physician/care team will contact you if any results are concerning or critical. Please give your physician/care team at least two business days to review your results. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go directly to your local emergency department." This is good news.

Great news for someone like me who likes to see the written results of the skilled physician reading the films. This and when I see my medical provider who ordered these films after a major fall I took, I will have done my research beforehand and will be prepared with questions for her. Masks are still required indoors. I appreciate this very much.

As usual, the hospital was quite quiet and peaceful and I was treated respectfully by all employees and departments I visited. Lastly, NO appointments are available for X-rays. You have to walk in instead. 08:00 AM PST to 4:00 PM PST. This wasn't too bad and I waited about 30 minutes including the lengthy check-in/registration process. Then you have a seat and someone from the department takes you to the department where your procedure/tests will be conducted.

I have been in many hospitals in California and this one is one of my favorites because they keep the place clean, quiet and enforce reasonably safe methods/actions from visitors into the facility which decreases the spread of communicable diseases. Now, a patient's test results are no longer held hostage by medical facilities and the medical personnel ordering said tests for the person paying the bill; the patient. Bravo Emanuel Medical Center. It's a no-brainer.

My wife Maria has been there for over 3 hours with a ruptured ear drum and in pain, they gave her a pill and stuck her back in the lobby, oh and stuck an IV needle in her arm. They said they need to do a Cat Scan. No one has talked to her for hours. This place is beyond horrible. Update: got a generic automated answer from "owner" still waiting over 6 hours now

How did these people pass medical school. They don't even use basic common sense I am so discouraged of ever getting quality medical care at this hospital and I am so embarrassed for their staff cuz they ain't very good at what they do and that's unfortunate because Turlock needs a medical facility they can count on for quality care. Over 5 hours of sitting in a hallway. 2 test done and 4 hours for results.

Got to the ER at 615 pm. It's now 2:15 am that's not the issue, I know ERs take a long time. My husband went to Urgent Care and was sent here to ER for a CT of his neck. Let me say first it is not crowded but multiple people are asking the triage nurses "why its taking 6+ hours" so we asked too. At first they said they had to wait for his blood work to come back before the CT could be done.

The CT was done 3 hours ago. Now when we asked again the triage nurse said there isn't a radiologist here so all CTs were sent out and they have to wait until who knows when. Mind you he was never taken to a room only a side room to put the IV in for the contrast so been sitting in the waiting room for 8 hours and counting. They should give a heads up that they don't have a radiologist.

My husband is still sitting out here with the needle for the IV in his arm in pain. The admitting receptionists and security group at the entrance are all laughing so loud it's echoing! One has her Cookies hoodie on, that's professional.not.

Go to any other hospital besides Emanuel. I honestly don't want to write about my whole experience here because I'm still dealing with it emotionally but it was horrible to say the least. I will share that when my dad passed away there almost 4 years ago he had a rosary in his hand when he passed that I wanted to keep. When they gave us his belongings the rosary wasn't in the bag, I called and called and no one could find it or knew what I was talking about, left messages and even sent an email and no one bothered to get back to me.

I know it may not seem like a big deal but it was to me. Terrible hospital. Our family is still traumatized after my dad's passing. Recently I had to take my mom to the hospital because she was having shortness of breath and on the way to the hospital she literally said "don't go to Emanuel please". How this hospital is still operating is beyond me. We went to Memorial for my mom and they took great care of her and were wonderful. I honestly wish we had taken my dad elsewhere, maybe he would still be here.

My mom was admitted here for covid in the 2 days she was there they gave her 1 meal if you could call it that and they missed her vein on her iv and her arm was super swollen and when we were scheduled to pick her up the hospital made us sit in the parking lot for over 8 hours with covid so that they can wait until after midnight to bill her for another day I wouldn't recommend this place for my dog and hope to never have to come back here again went inside to file a complaint and they told me there is no complaint forms supposedly

I've always heard bad reviews about this hospital and now I see why. Was scheduled for a procedure early morning, waited there for almost 2 hour for a lady to come out and tell me my surgery was canceled. They had me come in a day before to have tests and a covid test done, now why would you have me still come in the next day for my surgery knowing my covid test results will take 3-5 days?. Definitely won't be looking to get any medical attention here

They had me in the hallway with other people for over 9 hours after doing a COVID test. Nurse left me out there with the rest of the people knowing that my test came back positive for COVID. She waited hours until the doctor had time to speak to me just to tell me I was COVID positive and discharge me. Dr even made a comment I was "following him to the end of his shift".

Every time I asked if results came back or if someone could check on things for me she gave me attitude despite me being as polite as possible after waiting over 9 hours. They don't even clean the seats they have sick patients in the hallway in and they just seat new people in them. Some even leave behind finger monitors or arm bands for blood pressure that they've used and the nurses or janitors don't clean or pick them up. Go to memorial or doctors in Modesto instead of this place.

They deserve no stars. Worst hospital and so unprofessional. Had a surgery scheduled for almost a month and had to rearrange my work and personal life for the day and recovery time and they called and canceled an hour and half before the scheduled time. This is ridiculous. I've been in pain and this surgery is much needed. I don't know how this is okay? So disappointed. You guys need to run this hospital better. Find people who actually care about their patience and their time.

Without going into a ton of detail I recently was admitted to the emergency room at Emmanuel on 12/22. Turns out after my gallbladder was removed last month, I had stone blockages still. I had an operation done on the 23rd and was an hour into recovery when all hell broke loose and I had pancreatitis as well. I lost track of the vomiting after the 30th occurrence.

I was practically unable to sleep I was throwing up so much. Anyways that's not the point of the review. The dr's and nurses in the surgical ward area (I was room 150 if that matters) went so far above and beyond I couldn't thank them enough. I would usually have 2 main nurses checking in a day and then their assistants or whatever they're called as well as the vitals and labs people.

I was there until the 27th and really just wanted to thank every single person who helped me get through that week, it was one of the worst weeks of my life and they kept my spirits at least up a little. On top of that they have to deal with some of the most annoying and unappreciative patients I have ever heard in my life. People screaming swear words for more pain meds, guys yelling all night long "Hey! Help me!" So the whole wing could hear. They put up with a ton of crap and they don't deserve it. Thank you all.

Substandard care with dishonest billing. They will do almost nothing to help you and then charge your insurance the maximum allowed for an ER visit. This causes a giant patient portion, way more than any care received. I was tempted to just leave while there and should have, but didn't know until after that they would charge thousands for doing literally almost nothing!

Like seriously, no pillow, no nurse, no meds, . They put the patient in the hallway without even a chair! And, no they weren't busy. The place was nearly empty. NEVER GO HERE!

My grandma did not receive the proper care at this hospital. She suddenly became weak and confused at home one day, which caused us to send her to the ER. They sent her right back home stating that everything was fine. The next morning, she was found breathing but not responding to us. She was then sent again to the ER and we were told she had a stroke.

When her discharge date came, they told us they were sending her to a nursing home but then transferred her to a whole new nursing home without consulting with us. When we asked if we can have the facility's number, they said we can find it on our own. I am also a nurse and this is not how we treat our patients and their family members. I wanted to work here but now my views are changed. I'm glad I am now aware of how patients are treated here because I will never consider working here.

Ineffective, inefficient, poor communication and completely disorganized. First appt my father had to drive back 40 minutes to the facility because the technician didn't upload his scan correctly, then had a biopsy scheduled and my father waited in the bed 3 hours before being told they didn't order the proper pre-testing then the day of the newly scheduled biopsy making him wait 4 hours due to a supposed emergency of which nothing was communicated to him the entire time.

Working in healthcare myself I'm appalled this place is allowed to treat people. Currently waiting over 30 minutes for a virtual appointment call. The people that come to your facility are sick and scared and this treatment is nothing short of horrific. Sub-par patient care at best and they clearly settle for mediocrity as the standard.

Worst Emergency room Iv been to yet! The last 3 time I have gone they forgot to send out my prescription. Then when I called to have them sent out they have no record of then at all. They lost my daughters covid test I called for 2 WEEKS said the had no record of her getting tested then put her in as positive with out results. The person I spoke with today in the emergency room was not helpful gave me attitude on the phone said she would transfer me to make a complaint and hung up on me.

I was sent here by my primary doctor said it was better then mercy in merced. So I was there getting some serious tests. As I waited in the pod they were switching out the other pods with no clean up in between. Blood and iv taken and given no wipe down nothing. For that alone I wish I could give zero stars. Then my tests come back nothing wrong just some gas. Gave me a prescription that they never actually sent over.

Now there saying they did so they can't re send. It's like a more powerful tums not a narcotic nothing so I'm sitting here with nothing. My labs never came back and they had to take them twice. It took 4 pokes to get an iv in me. Now I'm worried my cat scan wasn't treated right or looked over well and want to go to merced to have them do it and sit there for 5 more hours. To think my next child is suppose to be coming in November at Emmanuel. They aren't the hype that primary care doctors and other people give them.

I checked myself out without being discharged yesterday because of how I was treated by nurses. I was admitted after having an outpatient procedure because they couldn't get my pain under control. After pushing the nurse button it would take 20+ minutes for one to come. The first nurse I had was very rude and after asking for the 10th time for water she transferred me to another nurse.

Who then told me something I asked for was her last priority because we were in a pandemic and there were people more sick than I. After hours of being ignored I said I wanted to leave and that my parent was coming and it'd be about 30-40 minutes. After 20 minutes I was asked to go sit in the er waiting room because they needed the bed. I said I couldn't because I needed to keep my leg elevated as they told me to.

Then when my ride came I asked for a wheelchair to take me down and was told no because I was not a patient anymore. After asking another nurse for a wheelchair a very kind security guard came and wheeled me down. I've never been treated as if I don't matter from nurses before. It may not be the nurses fault that they are short staffed, but it's not the patient's fault either and shouldn't be treated as such.

Having been waiting here for over 6 hours my 1 year old son has 103 degree fever and I'm still waiting to be seen. The inside of the building where the waiting room is located is beyond gross! This is a complete embarrassment the government should have to step in, the health care system is terrible, they should have people just wait from home instead you will probably get more sick just being exposed indoors edit: no one ever came to talk to me as I'm waiting here the response from the owner is a lie. my son fever now spiked higher

What an extremely sorry excuse for a hospital! This place needs to be closed down or get somebody competent to run it. A few months ago, I had to go in here for extreme stomach pain. I never saw a doctor. They did a few exams, didn't find anything and were about to send me home. This was after sitting in the ER waiting room for hours, writhing in pain.

I had to beg them for a shot of (non-narcotic) pain meds. That was all they gave me. Nothing else for my pain. I suffered through the night and went to Urgent Care the next day. The doctor there told my wife he was concerned about my condition. He gave me some meds (not pain stuff, some meds to try and fix the problem) and they worked! I was in and out of there in less than an hour.

Last night, my twelve year old daughter fell at cheer practice and broke her wrist. It was late, so we decided to take her to Emanuel since it was close, instead of taking her to Modesto, which, in hindsight, I wish we would have done. My wife took her to the ER and there were 31 people ahead of them, waiting to register. Now, you'd think that you would triage people instead of letting them suffer. Nope!

They made her sit in the ER, with no care or meds, until all 31 people ahead of them were registered. After a little bit, they at least got her a sling, but that was all. I called Urgent Care to get her in there, but they said they couldn't see her because they don't have an X-ray machine. She finally got X-rays after three hours of waiting, still with nothing to help her pain.

Two hours after the X-rays were done, they finally got called back to sit in a hallway and nobody ever checked on her pain level. Two and a half hours after X-rays (its now 12:45AM and they got there at 7:20PM), they still hadn't seen a nurse or a doctor. They were finally released after seven hours. All she got was a soft cast. My poor little girl had to suffer for SEVEN HOURS without getting anything at all to help her pain.

They claim they have a new system that requires a pharmacy approval before any meds can be given, but they couldn't get anybody to answer a phone. Now, I don't expect them to give her Vicodin or something like that, in fact, she has kidney issues and has to be careful about what she takes, but they could've given her Tylenol. It's sad that people, especially kids, have to sit there and suffer for hours upon hours in a place that is supposed to help them. Then, they got their paperwork to excuse her from school.

It wasn't filled out at all! All it had was a sticker with her name on it. Her discharge paperwork said she fell at "sheer" practice. Emanuel has had a horrible reputation for years. They recently remodeled and made it look like an actual hospital as opposed to a third world medical clinic. Sadly, their medical practices are still akin to a medical clinic.

The absolute worst place. I thought Merced was horrible so we came to Turlock. Please. My son had his appendix taken out but not before waiting in the waiting area in a damn chair for 10 hours. Oh and his appendix burst. Geez really. We got to this place at 6am and he waited all day in a chair and as a parent had to wait outside because I didn't have the jab or a neg Covid test. Never again.

I went to the Emanuel hospital in turlock to accompany my daughter's mother to her c section. I can not deny that with a little fear for their ratings on the web. my experience could qualify it as very good. The nursing service is the star of this hospital, they are friendly and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I do recommend the emanuel hospital as an alternative to have your children.

Unfortunately, this is the local hospital. The substandard care you receive here is only over shadowed by the sheer rudeness and incompetence of the "nurses" Triage is unorganized and most of the staff is more interested in hitting on each other then helping patients. After waiting for way too long, I left and went to Mercy Urgent Care, just up the road and was seen within 20 mins.

I wonder if the staff at Emanuel even realize we left. Don't waste your time at this place. Take the time to go to Modesto or Merced if you need an actual hospital. This ER is a glorified referral service.

Terrible place to go to if you want to get treated well. I gave birth to my son here and most of the nurses were unpleasant. They made me wait longer than I should have to get induced. One nurse came into my room and was just gossiping to a travel nurse about not liking delivering babies as I was right in front of her in labor! Another nurse made the mistake of making me push even though I wasn't fully dilated yet.

Two nurses made a comment about my weight when I was about to get a c-section and they were laughing. My IV was never removed from my hand even though they had removed the tube. A lot of nurses were fighting in the lobby. When I was getting wheeled out of the hospital with my son in my arms, the nurse that was pushing my wheelchair made me almost fall off with my newborn in my arms. The worst labor and delivery due to the staff in this hospital!

These people 0 STARS. I would honestly die instead of being in this hospital. Why the hell we need doctors for if they don't even bother to talk to the patient's family. Everything is already hard enough having a family member in the hospital and they make it even harder

As many others, I received a very prompt response to save face of the company asking me to check my messages. I provided my contact info. Noone has reached out. Their hospital isn't that busy, at least from what I saw, I could be wrong. I've called 7 times asking what a medical BILLABLE CODE in regards to "other misadventures during medical care" were and I've also never received a call back on that either.

The code equates to a severe misstep on their end that can boil down to being unsafe during surgery and I still have no idea what it was, but, they are happy to bill me for it. This hospital is a joke, just like oak valley in Oakdale. I don't get how hospitals can operate like this and still be in business and are allowed to rip people off money when they hardly do anything. My abscess drainage cost over 105k. To have my son via C-section at dignity downtown Sac in 2014 was 30k 100% covered by my work insurance. Let that sink in.

Here's an updated review. These guys also diagnosed my pregnancy as twins. Today I saw my OBGYN and she confirmed I only have one baby. and some bigger cysts. Sorry but I do not have faith in this hospital and would not recommend going here. Not only do they talk to you as if your pain doesn't matter, they also misdiagnose you too.

My dad woke up a few nights in the last couple weeks feeling like he couldn't breathe with a heaviness in his chest. I would talk to him and it would calm down pretty quickly. However, I still did a Teledoc consult because better safe than sorry. The doctor who we talked to was adamant that with these symptoms and his age (almost 73) we need to go to the ER ASAP and get an EKG, X-ray, and bloodwork.

I asked if it could be stress/anxiety and he kept telling me we need to go and get this done because of the symptoms and his age. That heart problems need to be ruled out. So my parents go to Emanuel and are there for about 2 hours and they don't do any of the stuff he recommended, even when my mother told them what he said. They prescribed an inhaler and said to talk to his PCP about anxiety medicine.

I don't get why they didn't even do an EKG? How can you just say it is anxiety after one meeting with someone and no testing? Why was this other doctor so adamant but they're not? Isn't it better to be safe than sorry? What could an EKG hurt? Are they holding back resources? This isn't New York and the hospitals aren't overrun with covid19 patients. I've heard hospitals are actually less busy because people aren't going to the emergency rooms as much.

So why couldn't they do at least an EKG? Did they get lazy in the last month with less patients and don't want to do anything? I went in once after fainting and stomach pains and even I got an EKG. Will never go here or take anyone here as long as I can help it.
