Cataract is a term used to describe the loss of transparency, or clouding, of the normally clear lens of the eye. As you age, chemical and physical changes may occur in the lens of your eye that make it less transparent. The loss of transparency may be so mild that vision is hardly affected or so severe that no shapes or movements are seen, only light and dark.
You've heard thousands of LASIK ads touting thousands of different things, but the iLASIK procedure delivers outstanding results, one integrated technology solution and one easy way to better vision. You will undergo a series of tests to determine the individual characteristics of your vision, including the use of our WaveScan technology.
The iLASIK procedure exclusively uses an advanced technology called the IntraLase Method. The IntraLase Method is a 100% blade-free approach to creating your corneal flap, the thin flap of tissue that the doctor folds back in order to perform your iLASIK procedure. The IntraLase Method also delivers outstanding visual results - more patients achieve vision that is 20/20 or better when the IntraLase Method is used.

Pack a lunch. You might want to also pack a dinner. There's a nice sign to "explain" why you most likely will not be seen at your appointment time. One hour and 50 minute wait to see the doctor for 10 minutes on first visit. Still sitting here on second visit and overheard a gent say his appointment was an hour prior. They called him in 30 mins after that just to get his eyes dilated.

Would they allow us to be 2 hours late for our appointment and still let us keep our appointment? Three hours and thirty minute wait. Ten minutes with doctor. A working stiff loses a lot of work time with appointments here On a positive note, the ladies at check in and check out are very pleasant and efficient.

One year ago this month Dr Kiplinger removed a cataract on my left eye. The whole staff from front desk to tech's in the back, to the Dr all were fantastic. I was nervous but all of them including the Dr made me feel so relaxed. Today, March 8th 2021 i was set up for my cataract surgery in my right eye If i could give them a 10 rating I would. Thanks to all of you and may God Bless all of you. See you on 30th of March. I highly recommend EyeCare Associates of East Texas.

From check-in for consult to recovery, Dr. Curtis J. Pennell & his staff were excellent. Go in knowing you may have a bit of a wait at times; don't let that dissuade you. I was never made to feel rushed during any of the examinations or care which I appreciate. I'm glad to wait if they're taking time with the patient ahead of me. If have a choice of getting it fast or getting it right, I'll take "right" every time.

I saw Dr. Cooper for a corneal ulcer two days ago. A corneal ulcer is considered a medical emergency. I called his office this morning to inform him that the eye drops he prescribed were not effective. I also explained that the AAO recommends alternating vancomycin or a fluoroquinolone antibiotic with tobramycin. I told the front desk the exact medication I needed to get from the pharmacy multiple times.

I've been prescribed them in the past by different eye doctors and they were effective within hours. Well, he finally calls me back at 1:30pm and leaves me a voicemail while I'm giving my toddler a bath. I get the voicemail and call his office back and they are closed. Their hours are until 5pm Monday through Friday. He even told me on the voicemail that I need to "hurry and call back" because he would be leaving the office.

He left me with no way to contact him and without calling in the antibiotic eye drops that I requested from him through his front desk hours before that. He didn't treat my condition properly and I now have to pay out of pocket to go to the emergency room to treat my eye. I don't appreciate or respect any health care provider that will shut their doors before their listed hours whenever they feel like it, and those who will leave a patient with a condition that is considered a medical emergency with no way to reach them and just leave. And on a Friday when I can't see anyone for 2 days. I'm a single mom with kids and bills and now a hospital bill, THANK YOU Dr. Cooper.

The office is friendly and I like the physicians. I think the shop is a little more pricey than other shops. My main complaint is I get a paper that specifically says they will handle insurance filing. They called me to make my appointment and for convenience I ask if I can also schedule my son. It wasn't until we were through with the appointment that I find out I have to pay for my son's visit out of pocket.

I'm not the kind of person who stiffs payment. After a conversation with the office manager we decided I would pay the amount and then we would have a conversation about how much I would get reimbursed for the inconvenience. THEY KNEW I would have to pay out of pocket and did not notify me prior to our appointment. I have yet to meet with the manager even though I called twice.

I translate this as a lie with our agreement and a ploy for me to forget that they missed on their responsibility. I would only give 1 star but the office in general isn't bad, but the trust is definitely broken and I won't be returning. *** Update, I was returned $15

I recently saw Dr. Allison who completed my eye exam to update my contact prescription and check for some dryness/irritation I've been having. She was very thorough in checking and diagnosing the issue, she gave me some information on how to alleviate the symptoms and had me in and out swiftly. Wonderful doctor! If you're in need of an updated contact prescription, she will do an excellent job!

The woman who helped us with insurance issues was fabulous. She went above and beyond and was so helpful and friendly. Really liked Dr. Pennell and his nurses. The only negative thing is that the front desk mainly one person was not friendly and and appears to be the scheduler for Dr. Pennell. Also the wait time to see the doctor was generally an hour and a half to two hours which seems a little long to me.

EyeCare staff and Doctors are truly caring and compassionate about the care they provide! My son was recently seen for the first time in his young life. Dr. Bryant, Kaci and Carol were very patient, warm and gentle. They took time to make sure he was comfortable. I'm recommending to have all your eye care needs taken care of here!

September 2017 - These are one of the places that require an appointment so that you can come and bask in the glory of waiting in not one, but two different waiting rooms. If that weren't enough to tie up your morning or afternoon, you also get to wait for the doctor to finally see you once in an actual room. 2nd visit, six months later (3/2018). This time I only had to wait 45 minutes for an appointment I was on time for. Was helped by not the doctor, but by one of his capable assistant's.

Now that we were 1/3 filled with hope of seeing the outside world again, we were herded to another smaller waiting room so that we can check to see if those seats were still working. (They were in case some of you were wondering) 30 minutes later two different assistant's came by to lead us to another room. We were fortunately given ample time to check for cracks in the paint and any cobwebs left behind by any resident spiders.

Now 2 hours after our initial appointment time, the doctor makes a brief (in comparison to the over three and a half hours spent here) appearance so that he can legally charge for our lovely stay. This place may care for your eyes, but they do not care if you actually have a life with other things to do. Life does not exist outside of this building apparently and time here is only a theoretical concept by some who dare speak of it. For those who do, I suspect they may very well get charged double for bringing up such nonsense.
