IOLs come in different focusing powers, just like prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses. Measurements of the length of your eye and the curve of your cornea will be made. These measurements are used to set your IOLs focusing power. Monofocal IOLs: The most common type of lens used with cataract surgery is called a monofocal IOL.
Glaucoma is a group of related eye disorders that cause damage to the optic nerve that carries information from the eye to the brain. In its early stages, glaucoma usually has no symptoms, which is what makes it so dangerous - by the time you notice problems with your sight, the disease has progressed to the point that irreversible vision loss has already occurred and additional loss may be difficult to stop. In most cases, glaucoma is associated with higher-than-normal pressure inside the eye - a condition called ocular hypertension.
Our doctors use a wide variety of tests and procedures to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to complex tests, such as using a high-powered lens to visualize the tiny structures inside of your eyes. A comprehensive eye exam can take an hour or more, depending on the doctor and the number and complexity of tests required to fully evaluate your vision and the health of your eyes. Among the first tests performed in a comprehensive eye exam are visual acuity tests that measure the sharpness of your vision.

Cataract surgery on left eye. I'm a truck driver on graveyard shift driving to Houston 6 nights a week. Even with glasses I see blurry. 3 days after surgery I'm back on the road. WITHOUTGLASSES. My left eye cleared up so much it compensated for. my right eye. Dr krishnan did a really good job. And the staff was wonderful

My eye doctor made an appointment to have my cataracts removed the doctor asked if the eye surgeon dilated eyes they were told no they do not.when they confirmed the appointment with me I asked do they dilate eyes they said no. day before my eye appointment I got a call from them and they got my health history and I asked them if they dilated eyes they said no I drive 2 hours over to them wait in the waiting room for 35 minutes and then I had to fill out another health report I go into the examining room, examining room is from the 1960s they actually used a piece of plastic to cover up one eye while I looked through the other eye they did not even remove my glasses then they said that they're going to relax my eye I asked are you dilateing my eyes they said yes I said you never had my permission and you told me you did not dilate eyes do you know why I do not want my eyes dilated they didn't care I told them that there's other ways to check for glaucoma they said they did not have the equipment, the doctor came in and said he refuses to work on me unless he can dilate my eyes with liquid I refuse because I've had several medical problems and it takes over a week for my eyes to come back from dilation they did not care they told me to leave and I got my money back now I'm getting hold of Humana to tell them what's going on, they will say anything to get you in there office, they are just a mill.

Stay away from here and find another surgeon. We just found out from other doctors in another state that my husband's two cataract surgeries two years ago, the lenses weren't placed properly in his eyes. He would have to go back to Dr. K to have the surgeries repeated and have the lenses placed correctly. If Dr. K can't place them correctly the first time, why would we go back to trust him to place them again.

We will be informing our insurance company about this to see what can be done. We don't recommend this doctor or office to any one. I saw Dr. K after my husband's surgery, and he treated me like I wasn't important. He was too quick with me and was more interested in my husband's eyes instead of mine. It wasn't my husband's appointment, it was mine. I found another doctor. The manager uses the excuse that they have no record of "you" to respond to their reviews.

I have used Dr Krisman. He and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. He sits and explains the procedure and answers any questions. Today I brought my sister for an appointment, the same respect was given to her. I was disappointed in the wait time we have before she can have her cataract removed. The first available opening to have measurements taken is March the 5th., we have to wait longer before the surgery. She can not see out of her eye and it bothers her. I believe maybe more help is needed in the office. No one should have to wait that long.

After having 2 different doctors disagree on my diagnosis and my treatment I went to Dr Krishnan. Everyone there is awesome and has a great attitude. After being in pain and taking drugs that weren't even necessary Dr. Krishnan got me back to normal with just 4 visits the infection was gone and I could go back to work. He explained everything in great detail and even gave us permission to call him at home if something didn't seem right. He is the most caring and knowledgeable Dr. that I've seen in some time. Thank you for all you do, you really do make a difference!

Dr Krishnan and his entire staff have provided superior service to myself and my family. They are professorial, trustworthy and very ethical. I'm treated with the utmost respect while I'm a guest in their office. Dr Krishnan is currently treating me and following my case personally on a very close basis. I highly recommend The Eye Institute of Corpus Christi for eye care for your entire family.

My husband (Martinez) has been a patient there for a long time and have never complained.but this time he came home and informed me how rudely the staff treated him. One of the tech kept chewing her gum snapping loudly while interviewing him.he felt disrespected by the staff.as one of the girl kept rolling her eyes when he was asked questions and gave his answers. I dont think patients should be treated this way.

These people are crooks. I went in for a cyst removal and they charged me for an vision test which I did not need. On the next visit to get the cyst removed I had a different doctor who told me something different. He ended up "removing" the cyst, but guess what folks, it's back. In addition to long wait times and rude staff these people will not care what your financial situation is and will try to get every penny out of you.

Dr. Krishnan is a competent, caring, ethical physician who is extremely talented. He exceeds our expectations each and every time. My entire family is treated in this office. We are made to feel that we matter. Anytime we've had an urgent situation the office has put us on the schedule promptly without hesitation. The office staff is professional and courteous. I would recommend this physician!

Absolutely outstanding eye care! Best of the best in Corpus Christi area! Why waste you vision to lesser quality professionals? All the Dr's here are very highly qualified professionals. Had we come earlier I'm sure my wife's. vision would have been saved to say nothing of the time, expense and heartache of inexpert eye care. See the real pros at The Eye Institute!
