Went for contact exam. Due to previous eye infection, lost some sight. So they order samples for me to try. Took 8 days to come in! Then call to tell me they are here but NOW I need an appointment to get the samples. Another 7 days before I can get in to be seen. If that is the process, then why didn't they make me an appointment when they orders the samples!

So it's going to be 2 weeks since my appointment before I can order contacts. I should have just stuck with WalMart eye care. I would have had the samples in 2 days and my 3 month supply of contacts would already be in. I'm going out of town the day after my samples fitting and NO THEY REFUSED to fit me in earlier! I would have come any time they had available sooner so I could see (better) to drive 12 hours! So much for customer service. Once I get my script, I'm out of here!

First visit to this eye place, recommended from a friend. I arrived early, 10:15 for a 10:30 appointment. At 10:45 I asked when I'd be seen and was told soon. I patiently waited, and watched as other patients were coming in from offices across the hallway and being seen before me. At 11:15 I asked if someone forgot about me and was told no sir we didn't forget, you're next as soon as a room becomes available.

I asked why have I been waiting so long, and was told that only two optometrist were available today. And, that the wait time can vary by day depending on how many optometrist are available. I asked what day can I make an appointment and be seen on time. The receptionist hinted that no one is seen as scheduled and that the average wait is an hour.

I gave up and left. From looking at others reviews it seems that this company intentionally overbooks appointments. There was a lot of patients at this office today who apparently don't mind spending several hours at the eye doctor.

I'm afraid my review will echo other recent reviews with saying that this place has definitely slid downhill. I went for a normal visit at the end of December, paid my copay like normal, and waited for the trial set to come in. I noticed that it was a new crew, and they had zero files on me, despite the fact that I had been there just last year. Disconcerting.

Then when my trial contacts finally came in, I went to the fitting like normal and left with the trials. Later on, I received a bill for $75 for the contact fitting. Thinking there was a mistake, I called, and found out that somehow, despite the fact that I had given my insurance AT my appointment, it still was not on file. So they said they would put that in and call me back.

I called in about a week or so to order my new contacts. After ordering the set, they asked about the $75. So I told them no one had gotten back to me before now, and what was it for? They told me it was for the fitting. But then mentioned some insurance company that I told them was not mine. Once again told they would get back to me. Now, here I am a few weeks later, and once again I get notice of the bill that MY insurance company told me I have never been charged for. Plus, I've gotten no status updates on where my contacts are that I ordered weeks ago. Getting anyone competent on the phone to get real answers is a chore, at best. I certainly will be moving on to somewhere else once my business here is concluded. Do yourself a favor and find a better place to go.

Definitely not the same practice as several years ago. They seem to have been purchased by a new management company with the result that they are overbooked and appointments have taken two hours or more to be completed. Good care, but plan to spend a few hours for a routine appointment.

I highly recommend that you go elsewhere. I scheduled an appointment, and I was told the insurance wouldn't be accepted due to my surgery with them in June of 2021. The interesting thing about that. I have never had eye surgery. So, I explained there must be a mix up. After a call back, they told me that they put another patient's surgery in my file so I was fine to get my appointment with my insurance.

I arrive, and they tell me that they don't accept this insurance. When I asked why they took it last time, I was told because it was for a surgery. Well, I explained I still haven't had surgery and that this same insurance was used with them previously. They could provide no explanation and frankly didn't care that they wasted my time. The fact that they suggested that the insurance was accepted due to a surgical procedure that was performed on another person is concerning, and I will have to verify if that was really put on my insurance (admittedly, I don't think it was, but that was an interesting response from the front desk). They did absolutely nothing to attempt to fix the problem when I was there. They only get one star because 0 isn't an option - complete incompetence.

This office does not provide options for customers who are waiting for appointments. A wait list, or call back when there is a cancelation is standard. Oh well, onto a new doctor who will accommodate its customers.

Came here about 10 years ago and thought the service was decent so decided to recommend relatives to come here. Things surely have changed since then. The place is always packed which is an indication they're in demand, but I feel the staff's attitude is very indifferent and not friendly.especially the front of the house check-in/receptionists area.

They appear overwhelmed and not ready to handle simple requests from their clients. My relative who had surgery here said they never called her back about her post surgery visit because she owed $10 on her account and there was nothing they could do unless she paid it first. Well, if she owed only $10, why didn't you at least call or send a bill? On a final note, after my relative had her eye surgery, she states her eyes do not appear to be getting better so will probably have to get prescription glasses to rectify her issue. That too bad because this place use to be decent, but now it's reputation, service and procedures are going down the drain.

Staff friendly and helpful. Have had a great experience, appointments are timely and they are willing to work with patients to accommodate changes in personal schedules. Would highly recommend Eyecare Associates. I've been a patient for over 30 years.

Eyecare associates staff has always been extremely helpful and easy to work with. I have been a patient for over 25 years and will always be a patient of theirs. I would like to say thank you to everyone that helped me yesterday with my eye emergency. I would not have made it to my vacation today without everyones help. A special thank you to the lady in the scheduling department that helped me get a last minute appointment, I know I was a bit emotional and dramatic and I appreciate you squeezing me in. On a side note. my eye is already feeling a lot better.

I called this place to schedule an eye exam. I was put on hold for 12 minutes and finally hung up and called back. I was put on hold again for 2 minutes. After telling the person who finally answered that I needed an exam for contacts I was told it would take 4 weeks. Then I was asked my name, address and phone number which I gave. Then I was asked my area code.

I live 3 miles away, why would I be asked my area code. Do they think Metairie and Kenner have different area codes? If my area code was different I would have given it with the phone number. Poor service!

Made an appointment weeks ago to see one of the doctors this afternoon. Learned this morning that Eyecare Associates cancelled it. Apparently, the doctor called it a day after a mid-morning appointment. They said we were left a message. We were not. No message. No explanation offered. No apology extended. They asked a question, though. "Would you like to reschedule?" Shameful. Stay far away.

I have been coming to this practice for 30 years and have always had the utmost confidence in all the doctors who have cared for me and my family. When my follow-up appointment for a condition I was treated for had to be postponed, and postponed a second time, Dr K was available to discuss my recovery and answer questions. We finally evolved to a telemedicine conference which I found most satisfactory.

Once the office was able to open, I was called in and was very satisfied with the staff and the treatment I received. Though there is sometimes longer wait than I'd like, I overlook it because of the attention I receive when it is my turn. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice, and I have on numerous occasions.

I have been going to the Eyecare Associates for several years. Dr Cerise is my doctor and I have been very happy with his care and work. He did Lasix surgery on me then 2 cataracts surgeries all with excellent results. Yesterday, Ms Alma did my preliminary eye tests and dilations. She was very delightful while explaining every step in each procedure. She even apologized that something may sting for a second and for the bright lights when the eye pictures where taken. That was very nice and made a rainy day sunny.

I have always gotten excellent care at Eyecare Associates. I've had two cataract surgeries, with placement of implants, with excellent results. Now my reading vision and my distance vision are both so good that I no longer need eyeglasses, contacts, or similar appliances.

There are parts of this practice that are 5-star and parts that are 1-star. I had been coming here for years and have moved and all along have been stalling on this review. On one hand, I really like Rhonda in the contact lens department and appreciate the professionalism of Kevin Kasovich but on the other I absolutely detest the administrative staff on the phones. Dr Kasovich is a lot over the top.

Too thorough if it's possible. After awhile I asked that we just go through the full dilation and testing procedures of 3 hours once a year. We struck a deal and 6 months later he tried to do it again. I literally walked out of the waiting room after my regular vision exam I was so disgusted. I will say that he is an excellent doctor and a really nice guy.

The phone staff are rude. Just rude. I called to make an appointment once and the person on the phone demanded to know why. I tried to explain that it wasn't my idea and that Dr Kasovich wanted to see me every 6 months. I wish I could have recorded it. She proceeded to give me a hard time about it and hung up on me. I have no idea why. The desk staff are just plain unfriendly.

Not a smile, no greeting, nothing. How hard is it? Are you doing me a favor or am I your customer? I can go somewhere else right? I don't know if I can really recommend this place overall. I would have to have found a better place in the New Orleans area and have since left. Maybe this is as good as it gets here. Sad thought.

Really poor customer service! I was disconnected three times trying to get through. The woman that answered which wouldn't give her name - told her I had Humana insurance and they said to call back when i find out what type of vision coverage I have. I called my insurance which Humana has I have eye Med vision coverage - when I tried to call back I was disconnected again two times.

The person that answered the phone answered "hello" - I had to ask them if this was Eye care associates? - they said oh yeah. - this should've been a sign for me right from the beginning that this was not a good Doctors office - when I finally got through to the appointment receptionist I told them I was covered through Humana and Had eye med vision - they were more concerned about getting my name address and telephone number? when I asked her after the exam if I could just get a copy of my prescription they told me no - it would cost me $30 This is a free exam under my insurance?

This covered under Medicare yet they say it's going to call cost me $30 for them to write me a prescription even though the exam is free? this place is a rip off one star is too much! The woman hung up on me!

Went in end of June 2020. They have the WORST practices health medical precautions for COVID19 of any health care provider I have been to this year. Metarie restaurants do much much more than they do. The waiting rooms are both packed jammed standing room (main and secondary) NO social distancing at all. NO gloves. Some staff only had masks partially on and 1 staff in eyeglasses store wore NO mask at all.

You brush up against patients and staff in halls, they ONLY use to those little alcohol swaps to wipe of the equipment where other patients had their faces, chin, and eyes in contact, NO evidence they wipe of the arms or seats of examine chairs. Primary Doctors take calls and other consults during final exam and review of initial exams, images. They showed no evidence of sanitizing hands after handling cell phones or leaving exam room.

I give 2 stars for the overall flow and process of a full exam from check-in, eye test, images, etc., then a reasonable wait time to finally see the Dr. The staff are very very nice and professional!

I would like to help anyone who has trouble waiting in long lines or not being called back into the doctors office when their appointment time is made. This is the absolute slowest and least efficient doctors office I have ever been to. I highly recommend no one come to this place. I will never come back to this office and I cannot waste another minute in this place

Eye appointment was in November of last year. Contacts were ordered in late December but did not physically pick them up until January. Their insurance department didn't charge my insurance until January which used up my benefits for that year instead of the previous year. Never was it disclosed that this is their policy and only discovered what they did in November of this year when my insurance wouldn't cover my prescription. At this point was told it was too late to fix. $150 down the drain and not even an apology.

I have always been treated professionally and with great care. Staff is very friendly and very informative about any concerns that I may have. I have referred friends and family members and they have felt the same. I have been taken care of byDr Landry, Dr Sumich and currently I am seeing Dr Kasovich. All are experts in their field.

After having been to my previous eye doctor for many years, I wanted to try someone new. The woman at the front desk was not very helpful, but all the other staff I encountered was great! The woman (can't remember her name) who saw me first was very thorough, informative, and was able to answer all my questions. I really liked Dr. Kasovich too - very friendly and professional.

He spent the time explaining things to me and I felt like he really cared about trying to help me. The only complaint I have is that I was there for 3 hours! I understand it was busy but to me that's a bit ridiculous, and part of it was due to having to redo one of the tests. The woman didn't seem to know what she was doing and shortly after I was finished I was called back for someone else to do it. I know it is necessary for new employees to learn but for the sake of time I wish it would have been done correctly to begin with. But overall - a positive experience!

I have never been disappointed in my visits to Dr. Kasovich, but this morning's visit was beyond thorough! In a world full of 15-minute turn and burn doctor visits, his office and he himself put so much personalized care into my visit. You could not ask for a friendlier staff or a more dedicated medical professional. The optometrist that saw me first was so sweet and gave reasons for every action, she was extremely helpful and explained every step of the process! Dr. Kasovich was attentive and his care was personable and extremely attentive.

He even made an outside call to a specialist in order to ensure I received the best care possible. He went above and beyond in order to ensure my eyes were in tip-top health. I could not ask for a better OD.

Have been using them for four years at the recommendation of my family's long time ophthalmologist / surgeon who moved a distance away. Office is well stocked with current and appropriate test and evaluative equipment along with a knowledgeable and competent staff of doctors and friendly assistants.

Dr Sumich performed my bilateral cataract surgery several years ago with excellent results. Surgery and follow-up care was excellent. He now follows my diabetic eye care with twice yearly visits. Visits are always prompt and pleasant. I would recommend Dr Sumich without reservation. Ken Comfort

I have been seeing Dr. Stumpf since 1992. It's when I started wearing contacts. I have the utmost respect for this group as they are always professional and caring with your concerns and eyecare you receive. My husband sees Dr. Landry as he can't wear contacts and has worn glasses since he was a teenager. That's when he had a eye ingury.

Four years ago Dr. Landry performed cataract surgery and instead of three pairs of glasses he now wears only reading glasses. His distance was completely restored and only wears sunglasses to drive. I recommend this Eyecare Associates group for your eye care as we have been with them now twenty four years.

2 months ago, I was having an Emergency and I was trying to see a doctor right away. I called 6 different offices that I found on my insurance website and no one did not have a opening for my excruciating pain on my eye. I yelped this place and call them to see if they would take my insurance, which they did and the best part is that they told me to come immediately.

I saw Doctor Sumich. He is awesome. He was able to cure my eye.literally cure me after accidentally dropped Cinnamon of my eye (who does that! really only me) Staffs area friendly. I will definitely come back here myself and my family now for my future appointments. Thank you Dr. Sumich my eye is better. :)

I have attended this place for a extreme long time now for Dr. McGinn. I love it. The staff is friendly and always (I mean always) helpful and accommodating. They are extremely professional and have early morning appointments for people like me. I am always in and out at this center.n The doctor is wonderful, my eyes are horrible! Since I been going here the doctor has helped to keep my eyes stable and from getting any worst, so thats a big deal in my book.

They also have a great selection of eye glasses and they always seem to have my prescription in stock for my contacts and they are beyond reasonably priced center. Definitely check them out if you want truly good service.
