A lot of families are figuring out what is the best option for school this fall for their kids. One option is homeschooling. Below is a list of online and local resources. There are also tons of non-online resources and curricula. My own kids (rising 6th, 9th and 12th) graders have primarily used non-online resources throughout their school years.
Recently we sat down and answered some of the most pressing questions we get from parents. One-year- olds are curious about most everything and try hard to explore the world around them. A typical 12-month- old: explores objects in many different ways (shaking, banging, throwing, dropping); finds hidden objects easily; looks at the correct picture when an image is named (i.e., will focus on a picture of a "dog" when asked); imitates gestures and sounds; and begins to use objects correctly (drinking from cup, brushing hair, dialing phone, listening to receiver).
The use of vaccines has led to major improvements in child health over a relatively short period. Immunizations have helped children stay healthy for more than 50 years. Many of the infectious illnesses you or your parents had as children, from chickenpox to polio to measles, no longer affect most children today.

The front office staff is great. I personally had no issues with billing. Dr Karp was AMAZING and it is a shame that he was pushed out the way he was. I am not impressed with the other doctors there, especially Dr Kapoor. We had a horrible experience with her and would never take any of my children back to see her. In fact, I have changed offices since Dr Karp left. If your child has no medical issues then this place is fine-I just don't recommend Kapoor.

I have taken both of my kids to this practice since they were born. We have been so lucky to have Dr. Kapoor in our lives. She has always been kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. The staff is so supporting, and have helped my kids grow and stay healthy. During COVID they adapted to keep everyone socially distanced and safe. They did a great job with COVID testing. It was important to me to find a pediatrics practice that could help my children grow physically, mentally and emotionally and I found all of that with Farrell Peds!

Dr Evans is like awesome! Not only is she knowledgeable, she is care and compassionate. Our little one failed his initial hearing screen in the hospital and Dr Evans walked us through the process! I would recommend 5 stars!

Dr. Shipley, the nurses, and the front desk staff are awesome. My daughter has become a screaming toddler. Everyone has been incredibly polite every time she screams; they all just provide a level of empathy that is comforting. I highly recommend giving Farrell Pediatrics a shot :

I love this office staff, Nurses and Docs! We've been patients for years and have no complaints. I know that they are moving soon, so I am hopeful that these lovely people are getting a facility upgrade. The office is quaint and dated, and in no way reflects the quality of care that this office supplies. Great pediatricians, wonderful folks!

We love the office and staff. My daughter has been seeing them for the last 9+ years. Everyone is always so welcoming, friendly and kind. The doctors and staff always take the time to answer any questions that I may have. When I have to call after hours or wait for a nurse to call me back it is always in a timely manor. I have never had a problem making an appointment for my daughter. When she is sick they always see her that day. I truly can't say enough good things about this practice.

We have been bringing our kids here for 5 years now. I have been very impressed with the knowledge and care of the doctors. Our favorite is Dr. Karp but he is leaving this month. The doctors have all been respectful and had a great demeanor with our children. Dr. Karp has gone above and beyond spending hours on the phone with our insurance company to justify a non-covered prescription and discussing our children's care with various specialists.

My kids have been completely at ease with all providers and got teary-eyed when I told them Dr. Karp was moving. I can't blame them since he has taken such great care of them, but I have confidence in the other providers. I feel the practice in general is a good mix between making sure they don't miss anything, and being overly cautious about every little virus or injury.

We have always respected their judgement and they have usually been spot on with their diagnosis and treatment plan. The new office location is bright and cheerful and more spacious than the old location. The parking lot is not amazing since it is at the hospital center, but we have always found a spot- just not always super close. They are switching to an online portal and the process has not been smooth.

We have five kids and were assigned five separate accounts which is cumbersome for us, especially given my kids see a variety of specialists and a number of them also use online portals but they are through different sites with different logins. When I asked the front office staff, they said it would be changing to one family account but it hasn't yet. Overall, we have been very pleased with this practice and have recommended it to several friends who have also been very happy with them.

I cannot speak more highly of this practice. My 3 children have been patients for the last 7 years and the quality of care is phenomenal. We really like all of the doctors that are currently at the practice. They spend time with us, know our family, and are always willing to go the extra mile. I felt especially comfortable as a first time parent, back with my first baby when we moved to the area.

I also appreciate the ability to call and speak to a nurse or get a doctor's advice any time I have a concern. I trust their opinions and have also had excellent experience with pediatric specialists they they have referred us to over the years.

My children have been patients here for over 7 years and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They aren't the most high tech, that is true, but they are wonderful where it counts. Everyone knows my kids and makes them feel comfortable. I never feel rushed. They do their due diligence to get to the root of problems. Too often you go to a doctor and feel like they don't really know who you are at all -- at Farrell they are very thorough in considering past medical history. We feel very thankful to have dependable, considerate pediatricians looking out for my kids' best interest.

We have had a great experience with every doctor we have seen here. The office is busy and sometimes we wait a few minutes. They aren't high tech but when it comes to someone making sure my kiddos are well, I'm more interested in a thorough visit with an experienced physician. The nurses are friendly and have a great bedside manner, too.
