The Floating Hospital is an icon of NYC, a survivor who has seen the city's highs and lows through the eyes of its undervalued citizens. We remain as relevant now as at the time of our birth as one of the city's first pediatric charity hospitals. Today, we are one of its last. The Floating Hospital has thrived through revolutions in healthcare: the discovery of penicillin and aspirin; the invention of typewriters, telephones, cars, and the Internet-even the standardization of time itself occurred on our watch.
Healthcare is a basic human right. We are here to provide it to all New Yorkers, regardless of insurance status, immigration status, or ability to pay. The Floating Hospital provides exceptional, compassionate healthcare to families in need. We provide care regardless of insurance status, immigration status, or ability to pay.
The Floating Hospital's comprehensive care services are available to everyone. Whether you are insured through your employer, are eligible for Medicaid, or have no insurance at all, come to one of our healthcare centers and experience the kind of care that has made us a NYC icon for over 150 years.
We provide exceptional, compassionate healthcare to families in need regardless of insurance status, immigration status, or ability to pay. Every year, we provide 10x more charity care than the typical U.S. nonprofit hospital-ensuring that families who can't afford to pay don't have to. We have been on the forefront of unfettered healthcare since our inception in the 1860s, when we started our mission by serving child laborers, tenement families and the waves of immigrants who would eventually build this country into what it is today.

Honestly I should have known better. The reviews here speak for itself. I came here for many things and when I tell you after waiting over an hour not one thing could this doctor help me with my patience was hanging on by a thread I literally could not even keep a smile on my face. The doctor I saw was mark and if he thinks he will getting paid for my visit I laugh cause I'm calling my health insurance.

Do not bother making this place your PCP. I waited over a week for an appointment they didn't take serious at all. Mark Sethna does not need to be a doctor at all. He seemed so lazy and nonchalant. I had to ask him to pass me to another doctor but at the end of the day there are the same. Terrible. The lady who came in after told me she can't help me with anything but take out my stitches.

After I waited over an hour why didn't they tell me she could only help me with one thing. This lady really ripped my tape off very carelessly and rubbed my nose with a DRY cloth how can you be so careless to rub on sharp stitches with DRY cloth are they well at this hospital?! I'm so upset and hurt how I was treated here. Honestly.

The receptionist or lack there of straight up pickup up the phone and hung up immediately. I tried calling again and they never ended up answering.

As a patient with TFH since 2017, I end up with disappointment and finally decide to visit somewhere else. They offered fair service when I first visited in 2017. It was convenient to travel. They offered quick service of good quality. Appointments were available within 2 weeks. Things all changed after they started expanding their business - pharmacy, new location, etc.

Now I have to wait for over 1 month for non-emergency appointments. I'd say, "Fine, it's due to COVID." The staff never efficiently answer the phone unless it's a call for an appointment! I called a couple of times due to a billing issue and was not able to connect with someone in billing department. PLEASE MANAGE YOUR QUALITY OF SERVICE FIRST!

Absolutely the worst healthcare experience ever. The reception often doesn't answer the phone at all or they put you on hold and never return. Messages are never returned, even for urgent medical matters. A patient should be able to reach their primary care provider and get a call back at least within 2 days. No one ever calls back. Sethna is dismissive of my complaints and is very condescending and will not give blood pressure medication refills without an office visit so they can charge for that.

It's turned into a medicaid mill. I've been in severe pain in my knee for a month and had to insist on a referral to an orthopedist b/c Sethna, who is not an orthopedist, felt there was nothing wrong with my knee. In summation, do yourself a big favor and choose a different PCP. I am!

My daughter just saw Dr. Cristobal. Love her! Very caring, informative, and kind. This place is great! The new building is colorful, and it has a lot of things to do to engage you while you are waiting.

I do not normally write reviews but I feel this establishment has forced me to. I had an appointment for 2:30 pm and they made me wait for more than 2 hours. The staff was extremely helpless and uncaring. They do not value you or your time. I would recommend not coming here unless you have no other choice.

I feel so abused by some of the staffers at this hospital. First off after reading the reviews I've realized I'm not the only one with the issue of having them answer the phone. Some of the employees are rude, condescending, and not proficient at their jobs. I went to a dentist appointment at approximately 11:45, but my daughter has the cold with congestion, so I asked for her and her sister to be seen by a doctor.

The first thing I dad was tried to get the girls booked because it usually takes two to three hours to see a doctor. I finished at the dentist about 1:30, however the receptionist did not book the girls in after taking their information. I had to wait over another three hours to see the doctor. I left that place after 5:00 pm to head back to the Bronx and still had to wait on transport. Earlier on when I spoke to a manager he turned everything around on me, questioning my parenting on why I didn't take my kids to their primary doctor instead of coming there to see the dentist as well.

I feel so abused my the treatment I've gotten at this hospital I cried leaving that place. Each and every time I go there it's the same thing, but this experience was the worst. I hope someone in authority investigate the culture and behaviors of this place it's ridiculous.

COVID test. I got an appointment a week before for traveling. I got a call two day's before - confirming the appointment. I went in about 20 minutes early. Filled out some paperwork. Total waiting time - 45 minutes The test took 2 minutes. Very helpful and kind staff members. The normal Covid test result at the moment (12.1.2020) is supposed to take 3-7 days (free) The rapid test result supposedly takes 15 minutes. (23$ I think) Both are PCR tests.

It's impossible to get anyone on the phone, and if you do manage to get someone, they don't call back. Their automated answering system is also impossible to get through, for example "Press 2 for xyz".presses 2. "That option is invalid." If they simply don't have capacity to accept new patients, I understand, but they should clearly state that when you call them.
