My story is long, for very many reasons. 1st I start by why I was talked into coming to there detox unit, where i was assured I would receive medical and spiritual guidance, ,,g uess what (WRONG)! The only reason I went in the first place was because the dr, s I had been seeing for over a yr totally disappeared, only a note on the door with a 1800 number, So no meds most I've been on 20 yrs!

Ok bk to the unite the staff are methheads and crackheads. That do nothing but complain about low pay.ppl not coming to work and telling there meth stories, the last thing, I as a Christian did not want to hear! Also I received 7 phone calls, every one of them was told I was asleep because they was to lazy to tell me! There so much going on in there someone needs to address theses issues, Finally when I reached my breaking point with this so called staff I told one of the methheads I wanted to leave, and I wanted my phone call.

I was denied 5 x to use the phone, it wasn't till I said I'll talk to the administration, I got my call 4 hrs later! Then to top it off my wife was kept waiting in the hospital lobby for 2 hrs before they told me she was there. That place is a mad house.

I have been here many times but It has truly never been as bad as this. My lady And I were here for a check up on my son who'd been running an over mild fever most of the day. Upon arrival, the waiting room was empty, however it took 2 hours just to be taken back. Once given the opportunity to go back, we were sat in the hallway for 3 more hours with no one coming to check on my son.

Because our son is young, and we were informed the best thing they can do is Tylenol, we were encouraged to wait for results which should've been ready less than 2 hours ago. When asked after 5 hours total of waiting for results, we were rushed out with attitude. I was made aware they were understaffed and as patiently as we waited, there wasn't a line at all. To me this is unacceptable.

Honestly this should be no stars. I spent half of my night in this horrible hospital translating for my aunt who was in pain and took almost like 3 hours to her into a room. If you are ever in the ER and get attend by Dr. Steven Benatar ask for another doctor who will treat you with manners. As I was going to translate for my aunt, he decided to be rude and disrespectful to tell me I couldn't translate for her because I was family and would not give her the proper information.

I was with her two days ago at the same place translating for her and had no absolute issue with it until tonight. Obviously, I am there to help her because 1.) I am her family and 2.) so she has a better explanation about what is causing her pain but Dr. Benatar would not let me. He continued to be disrespectful towards my mother and I and told my mother he didn't care if I spoke english perfectly.

I never got an apology and I'm not asking for it but DO BETTER because, If I were the patient I would not want to be attend by this doctor I would much rather be in pain and wait to be seen by someone else or go to a different hospital.

I wish I could leave no stars. I went to the emergency room and experienced the most unprofessional and unpleasant nurses I've ever seen! While I was there, I was actually having to call my husband, who was at home with our baby, to have him call the nurse's station just to get an update regarding my care and treatment because I could barely get a nurse to even give me the time of day!

When he called for an update he spoke to someone named Dedra (not sure how to spell her name because I don't think I ever met her) who told him that she had been checking on me, offering me help, and making sure I was okay. I have no idea who that woman was but she blatantly lied to my husband because none of what she told him ever happened even once.

He was getting frustrated and asked to speak to a supervisor or whoever was in charge to get some answers. Not sure who he was eventually connected to because of course they were all too afraid to give their names but when he spoke to the nurse he was told was in charge and told her what was happening she replied with, "Well, sir, it sounds like your wife is lying." Without ever speaking to me herself, she had the audacity to tell my husband I was making everything up! Later, a security guard came to me and took the mobile phone they were letting me use to contact my husband and told me, "We're going to tell your husband to stop calling because he's calling too much and the nurses are tired of it." So then I was unable to even contact him.

If the nurses had the decency to treat me with any sort of respect, my husband wouldn't have even been calling! These people were so rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Floyd for anything.

My wife, Debra Elaine Miller, was scheduled for a surgical procedure this morning at Floyd. We were told by the surgical scheduling nurse yesterday that my wife could not have any food or drink after mid-night. Her procedure was scheduled for 12:00 noon today, and we were told to arrive before ten. We got there and signed in at 9:40 this morning. At 11:00 I asked the lady behind the counter how much longer before they take my wife to pre-op.

And why were we told to be there a few minutes before 10:00 if the procedure isn't until 12:00? She said that was in case they had a cancellation. Anyway, at 12:00 I asked again what the hold up is, she said they were about to come out to take my wife back for pre-op. I told her that we were leaving because my wife was getting sick because she hasn't had any food or drink since yesterday evening.

We left, then the surgical supervisor called me and ask if I would speak to the doctor about why we left. Dr. Bourbia said that Somebody dropped the ball, and he apologized for the mix up. The whole experience was a complete disaster from beginning to end. We don't blame Dr. Bourbia at all. The whole problem is the people who do the scheduling.

Allow me to be transparent for a monute. As an African American woman living in today's time can be rather rough. Upon arrival to this hospital I was skeptical and nervous. Boy was I wrong! The E.R nurses AMAZING! I was treated with nothing less the upmost respect. The E.R Doctor was very patient, understanding, and made sure I knew what was happening every step of the way and due to my illness which requires narcotic medications, he advised me that I would receive my medicine without judgment.

Again because of my illness I also need blood transfusions from time to time depending on my hemoglobin levels, he assured me that he would administer it. I'm humble yet grateful for the respect that came from this hospital. There still are good genuine professional people out there. Floyd Medical Center as a whole Thank you for not being judgemental and making me feel welcomed and cared for.

I would like to recognize my son's father's Nurse Grant in the ICU unit. The compassion and care he showed for my son's father was outstanding! We drove 6 hrs to visit and he spoke to me the day before to give me a detailed update and promised to keep me updated if any changes were to occur. When we arrived he came in and introduced his self immediately & brought us up to date on his condition.

He was also very kind to my son and made him feel very comfortable that he could talk with (being though my son is a very young adult who was struggling emotionally seeing his father in his current condition). Grant was also very knowledgeable and able to answer any & all questions thoroughly. Thank you Grant for your care of our loved one! Next, thank you to Jamie & her colleague in the Palliative department(forgive me I can't recall her name) but they both were very supportive and assured us they would be there every step of the way!

The hospital was extremely clean and professional right from the entrance where we were greeted. It's hard being so far away from a loved one during a time like this but I feel good knowing the staff at Floyd Medical are there to provide great care and stand in the gap. Thank you from the bottom of our heart!

My son came to the ER with two of his fingers mangled from a table saw accident. Sit in the ER for over an hour and a half in extreme pain, I ask the dr to give him something for pain til they figure out what they want to do, or finish their cribbage game or what ever they do while patients sit in extreme pain. Dr. Taylor came in almost two hours later and stitched him up on one finger and said they was nothing they could do with the other but wrap it up, it was in very bad shape.

Then sent him home with an antibiotic and no script for pain and told him they don't usually prescribe pain meds for this kind of injury. now I remind you he's been in extreme pain for over two hours by now. I hope you guys involved in this today, you know who you are, can sleep at night knowing my son will be in extreme pain for a couple of weeks now. And know that none of my family will ever trust Floyd hospital with anything anymore. That one star should be a no star by the way

Long story short my daughter was taken to Atlanta. Called the behavioral health part to make sure my daughter made it safe. Well my husband just called and this man told my husband you'll know if it's on the news?!?! The News?!?!?! Someone needs training on how to speak with parents who are truly worried about their child.

Got a cut on my thumb while at work, boss took me here to get it patched up. No stitches, easy in and out. They charged my boss whatever and they paid for it. Nothing else was said. About a year later, and I get mail from a collections agency saying that I've been billed by Floyd. They never once said there was any additional charges. Never tried to get me to pay whatever remaining balance there was, because they are a bunch of scam artists.

I was treated horribly by the staff at this hospital. I went back and forth 9 times in 11 days. Every time being told that I was making it up and that nothing was wrong. I set out for Erlanger I hopes of saving my life. Praise God it worked! First visit to a different place and they immediately admitted me and literally saved me. Floyd hospital was incompetent and abusive

On 2/2/22 I rushed my 9 year old grandson to FMC ER in Rome, due to abdominal pain and intestinal pain. Less than 15 minutes wait time until we saw Dr. Benatar and ER Nurses Arminda and Hailey. Dr Benatar treated me and my grandson with great respect and professionalism even though it was 1am! Dr. Benatar was so professional and helpful and kind to us and put my grandson at great ease by talking directly to him.

He asked him questions and listened to what my grandson asked him and said to him. Dr. Benatar even made sure to explain what he needed to do by checking his lower body and asked his permission to examine his private part's etc. the Nurses were great to assist Dr. Benatar but as he started to examine my grandson the nurses turned away as not to see his private area and that put my grandson at great ease and comfort.

He is so timid and shy and had never had to see a Dr in this regard. Dr. Benatar was awesome to explain everything about what was needed and was helpful to explain what he was looking for as a medical result. After several hours there and lab work, CT scans etc. Dr. Benatar spoke with us and gave us a diagnosis and plan of action. Everyone we encountered at FMC was wonderful. My grandson is much better. Thank You Dr. Benatar and all the staff for such great respect, care and concern for my grandson.

This is entirely due to their billing department. Their quality of care and doctors are amazing and it's the only reason we are giving it a 1 star. Their billing has no idea how to properly apply charges to insurance. We have had nightmares dealing with them to where it took 2 years to get the birth of son and all the charges associated to it dealt with.

And still do to this day with several remaining pediatrician bills. Never going back there again and have fully switched pediatrician providers and all other doctors closer to us who have more competent billing departments. If you don't have to go here, then don't. Stay far, far away.

I had a great L/D experience here. I felt like I was listened to by all of my nurses, and they worked with my doctor to provide the upmost care for me and my baby. I was able to have the kind of birth I had planned on because I feel like all of my nurses were a team, helping me have a positive experience and a healthy birth. After my son was born, my LD nurse came by my room to visit and check on me and my son before she started her next shift. I consider that above and beyond.

I've been to Floyd many times to be seen for different things during my pregnancy and each and every time it's been a horror show. That being said, considering I have to give birth at Floyd in just over a month, I was kind of hoping that the staff in labor and delivery would be nice at least. Woke up with a small issue today, probably not even anything to worry about but this is my first pregnancy so naturally I'm going to have questions. Called and asked my SIMPLE question and was met with rudeness and sarcasm.

I was laughed at and told there was nothing they could do for my problem and I felt so stupid I actually cried when I got off the phone. This is not the kind of attitude I'd like to be met with this close to my due date. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, these little moments make me feel so uncomfortable and bad about myself. Hopefully I'm not met with the same rudeness while I'm giving birth.

Went to the hospital the other week due to possibly losing my pregnancy (6 months along) and had a less than acceptable experience. I went in obviously having issues and was taken to triage only to be told they didn't have a room available after all and sent to wait in the labor and delivery waiting room which was absolutely CRUEL to do since I had to pass by all the maternity rooms and was left alone surrounded by images of happy new moms and healthy babies.

Twenty mins later they came to get me, put me in a gown and blood pressure cuff. They listened to the heartbeat and basically told me to sit there and yell for a nurse if I felt any different. St no point did they put any monitors on me or the baby other than the blood pressure cuff, they did no blood work to try to determine the cause of the issues and left me to sit alone watching "new mom tips" on tv ( again CRUEL since I was t sure I wasn't losing my baby) and checked on me maybe twice in the three hours I was there.

The nurse came back in finally and literally said to me "I was eating a snack, don't judge me. We don't know what's going on or caused your issue but follow up with your dr in the morning, you can go". Very unprofessional behavior and apparently no concern for either mine or my bs us concern.

My daughter was admitted to the ICU last night through the ER With surgery scheduled. She and myself have been treated with the most professional, kind care a mother could ask for. I would highly recommend this hospital beyond reproach. Thank you, Floyd

This is a great Medical Center. I have a friend and a cousin who worked there. I really think this is one of the best in Georgia.
