From Our Website
We understand that paying medical bills can sometimes create problems for patients and their families. Our financial counseling program is meant to address some of these issues. We are an acute-care hospital in Winnsboro, Louisiana and serve Franklin, Tensas, and Catahoula Parishes. We are glad you stopped by, and want to give you the opportunity to look around and see what we have to offer you.
On behalf of the employees and medical staff of Franklin Medical Center, it is my pleasure to welcome you. Our goal here is simple: to provide you with the highest quality health care possible. At Franklin Medical Center, the patient comes first, and all of our activities and resources are directed to making every one of your experiences here better than the last. Your satisfaction and comfort is of utmost importance. Should you encounter any inconveniences or problems, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can immediately begin seeking a solution.
All too often, consultation with specialists is inconvenient due to the distance and inability to schedule an appointment time. Our new telemedicine program eliminates many of these obstacles to health care access. This state-of-the-art computer conferencing system permits real-time communication between patient and physician regardless of the distance involved. Sensors attached to the monitoring equipment transmit patient vital signs and other health indicators for the doctor's analysis for simultaneous review during the appointment.
Sometimes medical problems require more serious intervention, including surgery. That's why Franklin Medical Center is proud to have Dr. David Gutierrez. A board-certified general surgeon is a critical need in any area, but especially in rural communities like our own. Dr. Gutierrez offers a number of treatments and care options not available in other areas such as surgery to resolve acid reflux, high-definition manometry studies, and other advanced, minimally-invasive procedures. In addition, Franklin Medical Center was the first Louisiana hospital north of Alexandria to offer the Linx procedure, which is a cutting edge, low-risk surgical implant that remedies gastric reflux.
All of these instruments provide superior quality in our own community. To avoid the burden of having to travel out of town, tell your primary care provider that you want your tests done close to home, and our staff will be happy to work with them to accommodate your needs. Across the nation, more than 184,450 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. According to the Center for Disease Control, Louisiana has one of the highest death rates in the entire nation for breast cancer. Even though mammograms are among the best early detection methods, 13 million U.S. women 40 years of age or older have never had a mammogram, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
At Franklin Medical Center, our focus is on providing the highest quality care to our patients.
