Since 1981, physicians Paul J. Fishman and I. Benjamin Geller have provided compassionate medical care to the Denver Metro Area. To meet the needs of the community, our practice evolved to specialize in serving adults, ages 18 through 118. Our providers and staff have a well-deserved reputation of providing warmth and genuine care for their patients, families, and caregivers.

We are as personable as we are professional. We treat patients with Medicare Part B or many Medicare Advantage plans such as those offered by United Healthcare (AARP), Cigna, Anthem and Humana.
Services
Tandem More Than Medication is a health and wellness service project dedicated to assisting patients, care providers, and families with their medicines - and much more. Our primary role is to help guide care by making the most of the resources and opportunities available to us. We do not take for granted the potential all of us have to navigate the healthcare and wellness world to improve care.
Geriatric & Family Medicine is an independent medical practice. Our patients come from many walks of life and represent different age groups, ethnicities, faith traditions, financial status, and health care needs. All are welcome, and each patient can expect to be treated equally, with dignity and respect.
When you think of pharmaceutical care, the first image that may come to mind is a retail pharmacist standing behind the counter in a white coat, filling prescriptions. If that's the case, take a look at these modern definitions related to pharmaceutical care - at least one of them may surprise you!
The process of assessing patients, diagnosing disease, and prescribing medication is a cornerstone of healthcare as we know it. For starters, patients often have difficulty providing information and making their needs known before their allotted appointment time is over.

Geriatric and Family Medicine punctured my eardrum. They denied it. I needed surgery and eventually hearing aids. Geriatric and Family medicine refused to take responsibility. In my case they were a terrible medical practice without any honor Robert Mundt

The entire team at geriatrics is truly amazing! I had to find a new doctor when my pcp had a medical issue and could not continue to practice. I could not be happier with Amanda, she is very attentative, writes down everything I say, and gives me all the time I need. I will miss my old doctor but feel I have a wonderful new family at geriatrics and I couldnt be happier! Thank you guys.

I had been searching for a facility to give me a COVID booster shot but was struggling to find anywhere that had quick availability. Geriatric & Family Medicine Associates fit me right in to their schedule. When I arrived for my appointment, the staff made my booster experience a quick and painless one.

I really love the people at this place. In my experience, every single one of them has genuine compassion and a desire to save the would, or at least their patients. That said, they most certainly are not given the required materials or time to do so. This clinic has strong ties to Jefferson County Social Services (hereafter referred to as Jeffco) and in that relationship, I believe, hide the roots of the problems.

The management of Jeffco is so bad that I believe there has to be high levels of corruption amongst the responsible legislators and or managers. GFM receives a large number of referrals from Jefco and also a, probably disproportionate, sum of compensation. While this subject deserve a much deeper dive, it strays from the scope of this review which is GFM not Jeffco. Concerning GFM, my advice is, If you are on a social insurance plan or are uninsured this is not a bad place.

This is mostly true for general, and probably geriatric as well, medical treatment and advice. If you can afford it, go elsewhere. If you are in need of more specialized services It's probably in your interest to really research your options (I can not speak for many specialized services and GFM often does use referrals). More places accept social insurance then many people are aware of.

If you are in need of the specific specialized service of mental health, RUN*. You will be sent to Jeffco Mental Health and that place is likely to make your problems worse. More and more mental health providers are accepting social insurance or may even work with low budget self pay. Try looking outside of Jefferson County. In the end, what my GFM experience has shown me is what happens when austerity type measures are imposed that affect a group of talented and well meaning professionals who are at the same time managing a growing cliental. * An important note to patients seeking mental health; if you are in crisis or feel you can't handle something like looking for other options, do not run.

Tell your most immediately available healthcare professional whoever that may be. You can always look at other options another day. Also, it is okay to call 911 if you are in crisis. Response: First, thank you GFM for your services. Second, I apologize, I should have been more clear; Jeffco assist US Medicaid and Medicare with referrals, or maybe recommendations to insurance holders is a more accurate way to describe this.

I have to assume this is done in large numbers because everything at Jeffco is cooky cutter. We are hardly more then annoying numbers to them and so l doubt my experience differed much from many others. I didn't intend to imply Jeffco and GFM we're working some kind of kick back scheme or something similar, but I can see how it could have been taken that way.

The referred statement was to describe the appropriate compensation provided to GFM in the form of social insurance payments. Also, I want to point out that these are often argued to be disproportionate to average reimbursements from other insurance companies in general. As for the relationship, unfortunately, or maybe not, I don't believe any service or business involved with US social insurance can operate without a strong relationship to their hosting county. All, social insurance type services, and for that matter all government services state or federal, inside Jefferson County inherently have strong ties to Jeffco.

That said, in my case Jeffco did refer me to GFM. It is possible this referal was due to my expressed dissatisfaction to other Medicaid services with Jeffco ties. Note, that I do appreciate the services at GFM much more then these past places. I suppose I can't point out that it should be understood, much of this is based on speculation or general observations of social programs as a whole. More importantly, all of this is partly are entirely based on my opinion and personal past experience.

The folks at Geriatric and Family Medicine were friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They listened to my concerns and created a plan for my health with me as a team effort. I look forward to working with them for many years to come,

Although I have been going to see doctor Gellar since I was a child (yes I am the youngest patient they have) and they also know I'm on disability and still sent my 100 dollar debt to collections. And I'm top of that the doctor is relatively pushy, assumptions and is actually very bias against mental health, sending me to collections turned into a 269 dollar debt.

I do not think people of mental health should see this doctor. The last visit I was there for 5 minutes if that and most of the time was in the lobby. The doctor asked me if I had my blood tests recently and I said no, so he sent me somewhere else and charged me a 100 dollars for the visit! This facility is only good for geriatric check ins. I will not be continuing mental health check ups here anymore.

I have some pretty bad things wrong with my back. So I've had to deal with plenty of doctors & specialists, along with their staff, over the last 11 years. The people here take me back to my childhood days. When the staff made you feel comfortable & at home. They ALL genuinely cared about YOU & ME! Not the name of our insurance or the depth of our pockets.

I have to say that Geriatric & Family Medicine will be my doctors office until I die! Or they decide to get rid of me. Just kidding. No matter what's going on in their personal lives or at work that day, when it's your time to be seen, they pay full attention to you. You're treated with kindness, patience & respect by Daniella & the Medical Assistants, along with a warm smile. Tasha, who's generally the first or second person that you see when you arrive, always has a welcoming smile & is ready to answer any question that you may have.

So you need to see a specialist? Ms. Leslie is the Referral Queen! No matter what the referral is for, if you're not walking out with it in your hands, you have it within a few of days. Now, I'm probably a little biassed about my doctor because, to me, she's the best doctor in the world! My AMAZING doctor is Dr. Christina Mulkey. Not only is she ABSOLUTELY hilarious, I'm beginning to believe that she knows everything.

My husband was with me at an appointment & she took a look at at & knew exactly what it was, right away. I could go on & on about this doctors office. The best way to find out if all if this true. Is to visit them yourself!

I'm thrilled to find an organization that really understands the different needs of seniors! From the first time I called for an appointment the staff have all been amazing at taking the time to explain and work with the individual needs of patients and be able to offer help and services in every area of my well-being. I can't imagine going anywhere else for treatment & support.

I'm elderly, just moved to Colorado and needed a very responsive primary physician. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. Mulchey, who spent more than an hour with me to acquaint herself with my issues. She was so pleasant and thorough that I felt at home immediately. She also gave me referrals for annual eye, skin and teeth doctors, which saves me a ton of time.

This office is amazing and the staff is super friendly and always so helpful. The providers are wonderful, professional, and very thorough, and have exceptional bedside manners. They really take their time to get to know you and build a relationship with you. I always receive exceptional care and so does my family that also comes to this office. I know we are in good hands and are receiving the best care. Geriatric and family medicine really treats you like family and always goes above and beyond for their patients. I highly recommend this office to everyone!
