Services
We've learned that everyone involved benefits when the goal is to provide therapy as short as possible, but as long as needed. It's why we believe in working together to find practical approaches that will move you forward. Of course, the idea of forward progress means that both you and your therapist should have a good idea of how things are now, and how you would like them to be.
For more than 30 years, our diverse staff and integrated treatment model is why local doctors and professionals trust us to treat their referred patients with care. They like our willingness to coordinate our care with that of other providers, always focused on what's best for you. We hold weekly staff meetings and consult together as a team on your behalf when necessary and appropriate, while strictly maintaining your privacy.
We work with all ages from toddlers to older adults. Once established with our practice, many families come to us for all of their needs, spanning generations. Whether you come to us as an individual or family, we want to understand you before jumping into treatment. Therefore, we include an evaluation as the first phase of our service.
To protect your confidentiality and ensure all your questions are answered, a licensed provider will return your call and assist in making your first appointment. Our providers make every effort to return calls within a timely fashion, and whenever possible within the same business day. For Therapy/Assessment Services, you may also use our Contact Us Form to request an initial appointment. If you need assistance choosing a therapist, we can guide you to the GMH provider who would be the best fit for your needs.

Wonderful practice. I have been a patient for several years and I highly recommend it.

Dr. Hartye changed our lives -- for better, forever. After struggling with our daughter -- with eating, with sleeping, with attention and focus, with sensory issues, etc. -- we had our child formally assessed and learned she is autistic and has ADHD. For more than 10 years, I had asked pediatricians, educators and THREE different mental health professionals -- one with a PHD -- if she might be autistic and I always was told no.

She was too smart, too clever, too verbal, too social, too sarcastic. As it turns out, she was TOO FEMALE to be identified by health care professionals who should know what autism looks like but DON'T. The under-diagnosis and mis-diagnosis of autistic females is a huge problem that no one seems to recognize. If your teen daughter is cutting, using drugs / alcohol, anorexic, depressed, gender dysphoric -- has ANY ISSUE beyond normal teenage angst -- please please get her assessed for autism. Preferably by someone like De. Hartye who understands how autism presents in biological females.

I used to see Amy Quinn and I stopped going here because she would fall asleep during the sessions which was very inappropriate. She also convinced me to pay out of pocket for a "test" which she felt was necessary even though I already had several things I was diagnosed with. My insurance ended up paying for the test and when I asked to be reimbursed for the amount that I paid out of pocket they claimed that I had missed appointment fees and late appointment fees. This place is terrible. Beware.

Where to even begin. We contacted the Drs as they also did an evaluation for my eldest daughter several years ago. We didn't have any issue back then. But as times change so does the service. We called because my 9 year old daughter is having some issues and we wanted a thorough evaluation by an outside source before checking into therapy. Cancelled on our appointment twice.

We have waited over two months for someone to contact us. We have lost work days, kept our child out of school only to have our appointments cancelled at the last minute, twice. They are very unprofessional and I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere so you can get results and not cancelled appointments. Bringing your child here would be a massive mistake.

I contacted GMH seeking a psychoeducational evaluation for my 13yo daughter. GMH was recommended to me by a friend who had a good experience. I received a call back quickly from Clara Penati, who answered my questions as best she could over the course of two phone calls, though she is not the person who conducts evaluations. However when I emailed to ask a final question, I was told there was "no availability." When I asked when their schedule might open up, it took a long time to receive a response, and when it came, it was a voicemail from Dr Hartye saying "Dr Penati [senior] feels this is not a good match for her." When I returned the call to ask for clarification, Dr Hartye sent a message straight to my voicemail (avoiding a phone call) saying that that was her "final answer." I have no idea why we were suddenly rejected.

All of our interactions had been congenial (though they were slow to reply after the initial phone call) and the service we were seeking was exactly what they offer on a routine basis, and exactly what had been provided to my friend. The only thing I can think of is that there was something about the fact that we were going to self-pay because my daughter is on Medicaid (she was adopted through the foster system) and their practice does not take Medicaid.

I wish they would have given me the courtesy of an explanation, so I know what I should flag for others as we seek a different provider. I would be happy to amend my review if this was given.

My daughter has anxiety issues, they have not seen her. I received a call from one of the therapist name Hartye and she cut me off saying they cant help my her. She was very unpleasant, almost rude. I'd say stay away from that practice

My experience here was very chaotic. I had no idea what to expect and the staff did not make it clear who I would be seeing. During my first appointment I was lead in for a session and the therapist seemed very confused and flustered. We went an entire session without her even giving me her name or introducing herself, which was a big red flag. Second session ended early and the follow up was scheduled 3 weeks out, which was also a red flag considering we barely even got to know one another. Overall they seemed far too busy for a new patient which is the exact opposite of what you would want.

Horrible. I called this office to get some counseling for my teen son and got sucked into what they call an assessment in which they made over $1000.00 to give me a verbal report of everything I already knew about my son and to have them tell me they can not counsel him, he should go to a man therapist. Mrs. Hartye said we had to have two of their therapist do the assessment and thus each visit was double.

The 45 minute appointments were 30 minutes and a rush to get us out the door. Currently we found a counselor for my son, yet they are too busy to send the report even though it was promised! One month later my son sits at another therapist and the therapist has no access to this $1000.00 assessment. I feel they just wanted to get us in and out to make their money. No true care for their patient.
