Jansen James D Alton MultiSpecialists is a team of board-certified physicians in Alton IL founded by the late Chester (Chet) Hill, MD. He brought together a group of highly skilled specialists to provide services for intensive care and other seriously ill patients. The small cluster of physicians was then called Critical Care Consultants. The following year, Dr.

Hill opened his Internal Medicine Practice to all adults. He was particularly respected by his patients and peers for his superior knowledge and genuine, caring bedside manner.
Services
Doctors who specialize in internal medicine are called Internists. They handle diagnosing and treating a wide range of chronic illnesses, general promotion of good health and disease prevention. Our Internists in Alton IL are trained to understand how the various systems of the body interact with each other and how diseases can manifest throughout the body.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Bartley received his medical degree from the Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed an internship at the University of Tennessee and three years of internal medicine training at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Bartley also served with the United States Air Force and practiced for four years with the U.S.
Board certified in both internal medicine and geriatrics, Dr. Stabell received her medical degree and post graduate medical training from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Before joining AMS, Dr. Stabell served three years active duty as Chief of Internal Medicine at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Ms. Ventimiglia received her nursing degree from Anderson University in Indiana in 2005 and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2012. A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical experience, which enables her to diagnose and manage most common and many chronic illnesses, either independently or as a part of a health care team.

I've called twice. The first time I spoke to the nicest person ever - I really wish I had gotten her name, she was simply wonderful! The second person I spoke to wasn't exactly rude but definitely did not want to be on the phone. She did her best not to hear my question, just kept saying over & over again to call my insurance. How do you know that I need to call my insurance if you don't even know what my question is.? I work in customer service. Even if you've heard the same question a hundred times, please take the time to listen before cutting someone off & passing them off to the next.

Dr. Durham is amazing. Her staff is always quick to return calls and are so kind on the phone and in the office. She always takes your concerns seriously and is a great listener. She has performed several surgeries on me and each time is just phenomenal and even personally calls to check on you. Our family loves Dr. Durham.

The staff is rude and mean. The Quality Nurse was just as bad. I was dumped as a patient just because I said I was unhappy about them confirming my appointments multiple times and then canceling at them very last minute. Now they are holding my medication hostage because it can't be transferred to a new doctor, and they won't even administer it. They blamed me for their mistakes and the pharmacy's mistakes, basically called me a liar while they themselves were lying to me, they were very awful to deal with.

I made a complaint with the Quality Nurse (as so frequently suggested by AMS in the other bad reviews). She was worse than the office staff because she pretended to help me and then dumped me the next day. She admitted this was going to make me have to start over with my medically necessary procedure with a new doctor, that I couldn't have my medication back.

She relished in telling me that it would be months before the return process was complete and my new dose of medicine were available. She sounded very smug and proud of herself. She admitted I didn't yell, cuss, or act violently in any way and that they were dumping me purely because I was "unhappy" there. So, don't file a complaint like suggested in the response from AMS.

It will waste your time and cause you to be dumped. She said "Yes" when I said "So you dump anyone who has the slightest complaint? That's your customer service?" YES! That was her response! Terrible. The worst I've experienced in my life.

I recently had a gyno appointment scheduled that I'd called off work for and had to make several months in advance. When I made the appt I was told that since I hadn't been in several years, I'd be considered a new patient. They mentioned NOTHING about paperwork. Fast forward to my appt 2 months later and when I go in they say I was supposed to get a five page packet of paperwork to fill out in the mail- something I NEVER received.

They proceed to hand me the exact paperwork in office but then tell me I can't fill them out in the office (even though I had all the documents on me to do so). Then they say "since im a new patient" (even though they had all of my information still because I HAD been to that doc before) I have to have turned that paperwork in before ever stepping in the office and they have to reschedule me THREE MONTHS LATER.

It's a good thing I wasn't in pain or needed help immediately because three months is ridiculous. The staff simply shrugged it off and when I told them I hadn't gotten the paperwork in the mail they said "mistakes happen. It must've gotten lost. I guess we'll see you in three months?" HOW ABOUT NO. I actually really like my gyno but this isnt the first time i've had issues with the office- enough so I'm switching doctors.

I don't ever want to have to deal with the bs system at AMS again. It would've been nice to know I HAD to have that packet before coming in on a day I'd scheduled off work just to be rescheduled three months later because "the mail must've gotten lost".

The Dr's are wonderful. I love Dr. Stabell she actually tries to give her patients the time they need but her nurse is way too pushy and doesn't listen to what the patients are saying especially when you call for help. She tries to tell you what is what without even fully hearing what you need help with. She thinks she should decide what you need or don't need.

She is rude. There use to be a really nice nurse that worked in there but someone transferred her to a different Dr and stuck us with this rude one a yr or so ago. I wish we could have the other one back. Really the patient and the Dr. knows better what is going on with them and about what prescriptions they may or may not need refilled than she does but she usually won't shut up long enough to let you tell her what you need. I would give it 5 stars if they had a better nurse.

Doesn't Listen, pushy and uppity on October 27, 2017 Dr Durham was covering for my Dr until she is released from her Dr. Dr Durham didn't really look at the file or talk to my Dr about me. She had little clue as to what was going on. She was completely focused on meeting me as if I was a new patient to her and to the facility. Other than looking at test results she only had interest in doing what SHE wanted.

Nothing that I had discussed and determined with my Dr mattered. She didn't listen to me. She didn't consult my Dr on anything. She just decided that she knew what was best for ME. Forget all the pre-cancer sells and results that came back. Forget that I had already moved this surgery because it changed from a Tube removal to a full hysterectomy. She didn't want to perform my hysterectomy and wanted to do a LEEP.

All because SHE though it was best for me to not go through a surgery. We discussed it and she felt that I just wanted this to avoid becoming pregnant. I'm 35 years old and they found step 3 pre-cancer cells. There is a small family history of this. WHAT MORE INDICATION DO YOU NEED TO TAKE A CERVIX, UTERUS AND TUBES OUT?! She walked out of the room telling me SHE would be right back, 30 minutes later the Director and the Office Manager come in and tell me basically they cannot force her to do the surgery.

That she gets the final say since she would be the one doing or not doing it. So my options are wait for my Dr to be released, go to another Dr or do what Dr Durham wants. Dr Durham wasted my time, planning and caused addition stress in an already emotionally taxing situation. Her personal opinions are not what I care about or want to deal with. Her ethics are clearly driven by religious beliefs and does not listen to the people that she is "treating".

This was all 2 days before surgery and right after I had just gone to the hospital to have my blood and urine test done. She is even worse that the doctor that said my 3 month long period was a minor inconvenience. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I recently switched from Dr. Cannon at SSM St. Anthony's as she is no longer going to be delivering babies. To be frank, she was usually too busy to see me, so I was usually making appointments with her nurse practitioner, Carrie Evans (who is great, by the way!), anyway. With family planning in my near future and having to spend over 100 hours observing in the OB department at Alton Memorial Hospital as part of a school assignment, I decided that Dr. Rachel Durham would be my best choice to switch to.

I was so glad that I did. The nurses and staff always enjoy working with her. I can't begin to tell you how nice she is, and how hands-on or hands-off (whichever you prefer) she can be. I have enjoyed having her as my new OB/GYN. She stays calm during chaos during deliveries, which is needed. She is also very good about giving great advice, and never judges. I highly recommend Dr. Durham!

I'm very disappointed with my experience for several reasons. I seen Dr. Durham hoping to get answers to my questions about the pain I'm having in my lower pelvic area. My family has history of a hereditary bladder disease that I am experiencing the same symptoms from. I had explained this to Dr. Durham, and told her that I was very concerned about it.

I can't help but feel like Dr. Durham did not take me very seriously, and kept suggesting I take birth control to fix my problems, almost as if she was trying to brush off the situation. Keep in mind I very bluntly put it that I do not like to take medications, especially that of birth control and that I was not interested. Although there may be reasons to her suggestions I feel that a doctor should at least try to help me explore other options in stead of just sending me about my day.

I understand somethings can not always be detected up front, but isn't it the doctors duty to at least help me figure out why I'm experiencing pain? I'm no doctor my self, but common sense and my body is telling me something is wrong, but unfortunately Dr. Durham doesn't seem to care. I'm very disappointed especially because I am not the type of person who goes to the doctor for just anything. So, now I'm stuck looking for another doctor to help me find answers.

I have been calling the records department for 2 weeks trying to get simple records sent over to my doctors office out of state. I have filled out all necessary information and had it sent over. I called today to verify it had been received and to see when the records would be sent over to be told that it would be 30 days before she could get to it and legally she has that amount of time.

She then tells me if she needs to push it to 60 days she can do so. If you are needing records transferred you may want to call 6 months in advance. Rude and very unhappy with the process I will be letting people around the area know not to go here.

Love my Doctor But! I have been seeing Dr. Quadri for the last few years. I find him a good caring Doctor. However, I have had a very unpleasant experience with the woman who checks my vitals the last two times I went for my well check. She is rude and uncaring. Today she looked at my chart and said "Whoo your blood pressure was really high last time." She was having trouble hearing it today.

I asked if I could sit in a chair to have it taken and she said no it is better for me to be on the exam table. I asked her better for who and she replied it was better for her. I thought I was the one who was supposed to be the most important person in that room. I told the other nurse that came to do my blood pressure and she said OH. Not a person I talked to about it cared. They laughed. Thought it was funny. I was very disappointed.

Always good doctors. It's difficult to find doctors who take concerns seriously. AMS physicians have always been great.

I started going to Dr Durham about 2 years ago and talked to her about my husband and me wanting to try and have a baby. She told us we would have to try on our own for a year before she would do any infertility testing. A year passes with no luck. Dr orders various tests which indicate male factor infertility (low sperm motility) and there's nothing further that she can do for us or even to help guide us in the direction of a fertility specialist to use.

She basically threw us under the bus and wanted nothing more to do with us. Which was absolutely heart breaking and stressful. I ended up finding a wonderful infertility specialist on my own through a ton of research. And my husband and I have been through a lot of unsuccessful fertility treatment and are currently undergoing IVF. Fast forward now to 1 year later.

I get a bill in the mail for 50 dollars from Alton Multi specialist for a no show visit on 10-2-17.and apparent yearly exam. I received no sort of reminder for that appointment so had no way to cancel because of not knowing. It wasn't until I received the bill for 50 dollars in the mail that I even knew I had the appointment with Dr Durham. So now on top of the stress and heart break from all the infertility stuff we are going through now I'm having to deal with this stupid 50 dollar bill.

We have paid so far out of pocket about 30,000 dollars for infertility treatment and I will be damned if I'm going to pay 50 dollars towards a Dr a facility that did nothing to want to help me or help guide me in any way. Dr Durham and the Alton Multi specialists are horrible! I would give a zero star if I could. She's an extremely uncaring Dr. My mom went to my very last appointment with her over a year ago and even she said she seemed very uncaring. So if you're a woman and looking for a good OBGYN DONT go to Dr Durham!

I started coming here while I was pregnant to see Dr. Wikoff, who is now my OBGYN. I will say the wait time in the OBGYN was NEVER quick but Dr. Wikoff was very helpful and made my experience a good one. The staff at the front desk has always been professional and courteous. They seems to be personal and remember their patients. I now visit Alton Multispecialist for the pediatrics department. Dr. Lindsey is the absolute best!

She is very personal and kind with children. She answers any questions parents may have. The best part of pediatrics I rarely wait 5 minute, they are very efficient with their time. The front desk and nurses in the pediatrics have also been great. I would recommend this place to others, especially Dr. Lindsey in pediatrics.

You are not a person, but a number-Or better yet a dollar sign. I have been going here for almost two yeas. I received a certified letter letting me know I no longer was a patient, and if I needed any of my medicines to go to the emergency room. Why? I have a $120.00 balance. I go to the office every month to get a prescription, and NOT ONCE did they tell me that I had an outstanding balance that needed paid.

During the time that I was a patient we changed insurance companies, and I paid the full price for my doctors appointment in cash until my new insurance company started. I have been without a doctor for two weeks, and without my prescriptions as well. I immediately went to pay the balance, and they still refused me as a patient. They only care about money, and not about the patient.

I am truly heartbroken. I have referred all my family here, and now I sit without a doctor. I guess they considered my life value at $120.00. Thank you Alton Multi-Specialists for being so kind, considerate and really caring about patients-NOT.
