Based on a pre-surgery visit (blood work, ekg, etc.), I sat there feeling I was in a third-world country. Think Bolivia. I couldn't believe how dingy the building and room were. The woman taking my blood and applying the ekg electrodes, just inches away from my face, wore her mask below her nose despite the pandemic (this took place in early November, 2021). Her supervisor was in the room with us and said nothing. Fortunately, my surgery was canceled, so I did not need to experience any more of Kent Hospital.

Worst medical experience ever, from the ER to the diagnostic centers, to the patient portal and general medical care. PERIOD. I can go into detail but all I need to say is that this care institution seems to be focused on $$$ only and completely ignores the care and comfort of its patients. I have raised concerns and issues repeatedly regarding serious and minor medical care, functional issues, financial billing, advocacy, patient and/or technical support (non-existent), and other areas and have always been ignored. When considering care, I will look ANYWHERE else.

Does this place not care for their patients or possible medical emergencies? My girlfriend went there at around 5pm on a Wednesday. I wouldn't think hospitals are busy during the middle of the week but apparently they must be. From what she told me she pretty much sat there for 8 hours and they did absolutely nothing for her. Seems as if going to a hospital now is just one big waiting game just for the "doctors" to do next to nothing for you. What a waste of time. I'm sure they waste no time with asking for your insurance or sending you a $2,000 bill that you have a month to pay off before it goes to collections.

This was a few years ago but i went to the er because i lived right down the street with horrible lower right side stomach pain. the dr came in said ok we are gonna get a CT. they do nothing about the pain except tell me they need to wait for the scan. scan comes back it's my appendix. well now we need to wait for surgery to see you before we do anything for pain. what? ok so i wait for surgery they say i need to be admitted for surgery and they order medicine. had the surgery went to my follow up 2 weeks later still in a considerable amount of pain. surgeon orders another scan.i get home and get a call from the surgeon i need to get to the ER immediately. apparently at the end of the surgery he left the room and let the resident switch me up. well he left a clamp in and now i need to have another surgery to get it out. will NEVER go here again!

Labor and delivery- The nurses were phenomenal but the doctors straight up lied to us to compel a birth plan that conflicted with ours. The nurses contradicted the doctors and exposed an ulterior motive behind almost every decision they make. After the first few hours we requested neither of the onsite doctors enter the delivery room. Thank God for the nurses who advocated for us.

Visiting hours are awful. No communication. Brought my husband there on 6/1 with a pulseox of 88, then sat in the waiting room for over 4 hours. No oxygen or respiratory therapy. They admitted him for observation, he had flu type a. Everytime I call the nurses station they answer and as soon as I say hello they hang up. We are going on 3 days now.

He isn't hooked up to IV meds or even the machine that monitors vital signs. We were told they are waiting to run a test but they are backed up from a surge. Can't wait to get my bill for this visit that did nothing. Just a long sleepover for a test. Thanks Kent.

Had a test inpatient 2 weeks ago, and we still have no results. We've called the hospital 3 times. They tell us to call the doctor. We call the doctor, and they tell us to call the hospital. How the heck was he released from the hospital if no one had the results of the test?! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Check the State's disciplinary site. Stay away from Kent.

I had outpatient surgery at Kent this morning. My care team especially my Nurse Meghan were so caring. Asked how I was feeling, was patient, and friendly. I felt like they were actually concerned for my well being. I was very nervous and the nurses were understanding. Thank you

I'm in rough shape right now so I can't go there to say thank you and show my appreciation for the treatment I received last night. It was my third night there and unfortunately I was misdiagnosed from day 1. Twice at the walk-in clinic and twice there. Thank god for Dr. Katie and the other gentlemen that treated me last night. I may not have shown it but I am 100 percent thankful for them both.

I do wish I could say the same for the front where you get checked in at in the emergency room. They were far from kind and understanding. My wife had the same horrible interaction in the front on her visit as well. My second night I was in pain there the guy put me at the bottom of the list over me asking for water to give them a urine plus I was in pain and dehydrated.

He told me to buy it in the vending machine as I was tears so my wife went to vending machine to find out it had no water or any kind of beverage for that matter. Only snacks, so she had to go to a store to get me water for my dehydration and for me to supply them with a urine. Again it's gonna be a long recovery but I am greatful for Dr. Katie and the other other doctor that was her. Now's all I can do is pray I make it thru the night without the paralyzing pain coming back.

So far so good. 10 stars for Dr. Katie and all her staff in the back that treated me with her on 3-17-22 Thursday night thru Friday morning. I feel better knowing I can ask for Dr. Katie because her and her team know what they are doing. I do apologize for doubting their professionalism and knowledge. In my defense I was misdiagnosed 3 times and treated 3 times which caused pain I've never felt in my life.

Worst run hospital I have ever seen. My wife went in early Monday morning while I was at work. When I found out where she was the receptionist kept hanging up the phone on me. So I went down there to see her doctor and all he said was she wasn't critical and then told me I needed to leave. Wen I tried to explain about her mental disabilities he didn't care and said no visitors.

It has been going on 4 days now and no one will contact me. I highly recommend that if you need to go there you have the number of a good lawyer handy because you will end up sueing them in the end

My wife injured her foot one night. We are new in town and it was an emergency. Quick! Where can I bring her?! Oh Kent Hospital is so close! Got there at 10:30 PM and I kid you not we left at 4:30 AM. 3 different people came to see her separately (doctors, nurses, idk) only for each to say you need some stitches. Thanks for the triple assessment, House.

You might be thinking "there must have been a lot of people" nope. Two. Two people waiting for 6 hours. If you know of another place for late night emergencies, please let me know. Oh and they didn't even bother to bandage the wound after. The cherry on top.

This is the worst hospital I've ever been to when i gave birth there a nurse told me while i was having my first child 'it doesn't hurt that bad your being a drama queen' because i was crying from the pain mind you this was my first time giving birth and when i asked her how many kids she had she smirked at me and said none, so how can u tell me something doesn't hurt especially if you've never gone through it?

Another time when i went i had an infection that almost killed me they told me it was nothing that i wasn't sick so i went to rhode island hospital and luckily they caught it in time and saved me. This hospital needs to be shut down i live about 5 mins away and will go to other hospital when i need to because this one is horrible.

Had my daughter here 10/16/21 and it was honestly the best experience I've ever had in a hospital. All of the nurses were so helpful. I was supposed to deliver at woman and infants and they kept pushing off my induction due to short staff. The room was huge we were in and I truly felt cared for. My day nurse Kim was absolutely amazing and was there during the entire labor and delivery process and I couldn't be more thankful for her being a first time mom.

Don't hire doctors that are from west warwick. That run down town is full of drug addicts and Biden supporters. Keep Warwick and west Warwick separated!

I am disgusted and horrified by the way this ER is run. The lack of care, compassion, and professionalism in this "medical facility" is appalling. If you love someone DO NOT take them to Kent. I do not understand why this hospital has not attempted to fix this horribly run establishment, after years and years of being known as the worst medical facility Rhode Island. They should be ashamed.

Kent dont even deserve one star let along 5. this hospital is horrible. my poor father inlaw had copd and yes was in and out of the hospital due to it my mother inlaw who had power of attorney of him was told that those papers were no good and kent went against her wishes and stopped all treatment they told her he didnt want her as power of attorney anymore well by law that cant be done wit out a lawyer and none of his family heard him ever say this and kent tried to hide him and later the next day called and said he didnt have much longer and said we should go there after kicking my mother inlaw and brother inlaw out the day before calling the cops on them. my father inlaw passed away due to kent going against my mother inlaws wishes. KENT KILLS PEOPLE.

Well, this was a great experience. Nice clean room, very attentive staff. Easy interactions. I don't think I could have hoped for more, after all it is a hospital, and these people are doing their best. Don't treat them like dirt, and things will go well.

I have been to Kent Hospital quite a few times from knee surgery to cut on my foot and follow up for doctors appointments. The hospital was always clean and operating room spotless. The nurses, doctors, and other staff that I have spoke to were always pleasant, professional, and always helpful.

Husband well taken care of in step down unit from ICU. Caring nurses, awesome doctor calls me daily to update. Rec'd 2 calls from discharge/social worker in preparation for rehab ahead of time. Covid safety protocols in place. Visiting hrs, 10 am - noon, and 4pm to 6pm. Double masks required (they'll give you a mask at check in) social distancing, hand sanitizing, screening upon entry.

I had gastric sleeve surgery. The surgeon and staff were awesome! While in the Hospital I had one person who annoyed the crap out of me. In all fairness she was short handed and I was fresh out of surgery( so it may have just been me). Overnight I had a nurse who was the best nurse I've ever known. Please pay attention when I say this. I've been in many hospitals and this woman needs to train people how to do IV's, and bedside manner. Please, if anyone at the Hospital reviews this, tell her that she was awesome!

I had surgery here and a week later I woke up at 3 in the morning in the worse pain ever. I thought I was dying. I was taken to Kent by ambulance and they sat me out in the waiting room for over 3 hours. The people in triage are of no use, and have no medical knowledge, it's apparent. I ended up leaving going home calling my doctor when they opened because there was only an hour to go from when they opened at that point.

Go to my doctors they send me immediately in for testing at Kent, no wait this time due to medical orders. I had a mass bile leak and was going septic. I was admitted immediately and back into surgery. I will never return to this hospital. I will not go to any doctor that only provides through Kent. The only good thing I received out of this was an awesome gastro doctor who affiliates with other practicing hospitals, thank god! I wouldn't even bring my dog here if it was the last place on earth.

If you have a child 13 or under that needs care, just keep driving up to Hasbro. We stopped here on a Sunday for a straightforward broken arm and after nearly 4 hours getting X-rays and some medicine for pain they told us they don't treat children. And because after an hour they had administered morphine for pain we had to now put the child in an ambulance to get to a real hospital. ($750 for a taxi ride) It cost us $4500 for this mistake.

Bed fee, various doctor fees, and xrays. And I'm not sure we have even received all the bills yet. They should have told us they couldn't do anything when we walked in. On the positive side they were mostly polite. But politeness isn't worth $5k Criminal behavior. Hasbro was excellent.

For what it's worth, and nobody likes hospital experiences, Kent's nurses, PA's, and general staff are very kind and considerate of patients and their families. I had two members in the hospital here last week for different reasons. One found us sitting in the ER for hours, the other found us sitting in a waiting room for hours. Total stay between these two patients was one full week.

In the ER, we were checked on every twenty minutes, while the tests and scans were being prepared. In the waiting room; we were able to see updates on progress on a monitor. Occasionally, a staff member would come in and have a conversation just to put us at ease. A hospital is hectic. Yes, there were delays, but we also found ourselves there during a surge - meaning a heightened demand. This hospital does their best and I'm glad that, of anywhere to get treatment, Kent was the location.

I never leave bad reviews because I just feel bad but people need to know to stay away! I was in the emergency room of Kent hospital last night and waited a couple hours to get admitted and get blood drawn, fine. But I waited an additional three hours after getting my blood drawn, from 1030pm-2am to get an ultrasound and never got it, which is the most I have ever waited in my entire life of a hospital.

I kept asking if something was wrong, why the process was taking so long and no one had any answer besides "I'm not sure". In total I was there from 730pm-3am and didn't get any results. I ended up having to leave on what could be a dangerous medical condition as I had to get to work this morning. The wait times are RIDICULOUS. I also overheard other people complaining about your wait times.

My emergency room doctor was great and had great bedside manner, but I heard bad reviews about the hospital and thought I would still go because I'm new to the area and thought maybe they wouldn't be so bad. NOPE they were. Stay clear!

Not much good to report here. The positives were that my wife got seen pretty quickly, and one of the doctors and some of the nursing staff was nice enough. The negatives were that they didn't do much of anything to help my wife that day. I admit that she doesn't have good veins, but two different nurses were not successful, and one of them became huffy when she asked for a hard stick nurse.

No testing of any kind was done. The attending ER Doc only spent 2-3 minutes with us. I think because it was starting to get busy they dismissed us without a second thought. We would rather have gone to Rhode Island or Miriam Hospitals, but we were in the Warwick area and the rescue wouldn't take her anywhere else. I would only recommend coming here for something very minor. What a waste of time!

Didn't think it was possible but its worse then Rhode Island Hospital, short staffed like other people have mentioned. The nurses all have horrible attitudes, also this place is quite dangerous as well people in handcuffs people asking to buy cigarettes off you before you enter the building. Lastly how can a hospital be on overfill at 3:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. Miriam Hospital 3/5 my opinion the best hospital in the state used to be 4/5 before Memorial Hospital since then they had to take on far more people from Pawtucket and the quality of care has dropped in respond to that. Fatima Hospital 1/5 Rhode Island Hospital 1/5 Kent Hospital 0.5/5 Avoid this place at all costs.

Was there yesterday.what. Joke of a hospital Er.short staffed and received two dramatically different diagnosis within an hour and only after sending the PA to talk to the attending dr to take a second look at my ultra sound. My gown had blood and a bandaid stuck to it! I was disgusted! Last time we were here my husband was given discharge paperwork for a different issue with another guys name on it!

Same thing with his drs note! He ended up having to talk to the person overseeing the hospital as it was an accident claim- if you want to protect your identity and want proper diagnosis and paperwork, go somewhere else! Lesson learned after this recent event! And it was filthy! Sheets covering the floor where vomit or diarrhea was- maybe clean it before bringing more people trough? Sick just thinking about it-yuck!

Unless you don't have a choice, go elsewhere for treatment. ER wait time is incredibly long, and while admitted, you may be forgotten. My husband has been here for pancreatitis, and the doctor team seems to be aloof, have poor communication, the room's AC is broken (79 degrees and rising), he wasn't fed 2 of his meals until I called the hospital to complain, and the nurse staff on the fourth floor are inattentive unless you are a squeaky wheel.

My husband was incorrectly told by one doctor that he had gall stones, and another said he might need surgery.when the rest of the team said the complete opposite. The nurses didn't check on him for over 4 hours until I called, even though his room is a mere 20 feet from the nurses' desk. Inattentive, faulty cooling, poor communication and an inept health care team. Go elsewhere!
