Kinex Medical Company is the largest supplier of CPM's in the US. CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) devices perform passive range of motion to a knee, shoulder, or other joint following orthopedic surgery. CPM's are typically used for 3-6 weeks after surgery to help restore extension and flexion range to the affected limb.
The Kinex Shoulder CPM provides Phase I rehabilitation therapy in the comfort of a patient's home. CPM therapy is proven to provide high-quality, cost-effective care that leads to improved post-surgical outcomes. The Shoulder CPM reduces pain and swelling by passively moving the joint for the prescribed amount of time and range of motion following a procedure.
Kinex has two options for hand rehabilitation. The Kinetec Maestra Hand CPM and the QAL Medical 6000 X Waveflex Hand CPM. Each offers a specific range of motion to target different areas. Kinex Hand CPM therapy leads to fewer traditional PT visits and earlier returns to work and other activities. The Waveflex Hand CPM is designed for post-operative rehabilitation following a tendon repair or other soft tissue procedures. The portable, lightweight and balanced design enables wear for extended periods of time.

The CPM machine was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. No padding in the seat or back whatsoever. It could only be used for two days, although the doctor prescribed for four weeks. We had to pay $250 upfront for the machine, but were told that if it was used less we would only be responsible for the time used. We called for pick-up after 2 weeks. We were told it would take 1 month for refund.

After calling multiple times, now we're told it was $250 for 1 day or all 28 days. What a rip-off for a useless device. Now I understand why the company has such low ratings. This was written by Deborah.

In June of 2021, I had to rent equipment from this company. I had to call and remind them numerous times to come and retrieve the large equipment 4 weeks later. No one bothered to come to get the thing until the second week in October! In addition, I've reached out to customer service multiple times to pay my bill. I was able to reach someone a few months ago who offered the rental for $200, vs $300 given my financial status.

I didn't have my card on me so I called back numerous times after to pay the $200. I finally heard back from customer service who said I had to pay $240, not $200 despite my earlier conversation. I asked that a supervisor call me. Never heard back from anyone. I've left 4 messages and requested a callback 3 times. It is now May 24th, 2022 and I still haven't been able to pay this thing off because no one ever returned my voice mail messages or callback requests. I'm VERY concerned about having to pay more than $200, and I'm on edge about collections since no one has called me back!

The machine worked great. Customer service is terrible. I paid the amount ($100) I was informed I would be responsible for. Since then, I have started receiving bills for equipment I did not receive and which does not even correspond to my surgery dates. When I called to resolve this, the representative practically accused me of lying, telling me I signed for the equipment.

While I definitely used *some* Kinex equipment, I did not use or sign for the equipment described on the bill - or on the record the representative read to me. I will be reporting this to the Orthopedics Department at the hospital (where I also work) and if it's not resolved, to the state Attorney General.

The representative was very nice. He didn't have equipment available until my day of surgery but dropped it at my home. I'm very disappointed with the equipment. Yes it cools but it doesn't fit my hip and thigh where I have swelling. It looks sized for a shoulder. The Velcro straps were so long that they had to be double wrapped and the straps stuck so tightly to the strap material instead of the pad as it was intended to do. I finally gave up with the Velcro. Now I just move the ice where I need it. Unfortunately I won't have compression.

We had 2 of the most amazing gentleman come to explain, demonstrate, and answer all of our questions in regards to my mom's upcoming surgery. They made sure that we understood and used properly the equipment she will have to use. On top of that they did it in a short amount of time. Mark Greene made us feel at ease and just has the most personable personality of anyone I have dealt with in this field. Jay Youngblood was in training but was able to show us and explain the uses of the equipment in a way that we could understand and pick up easily. He also has good presence and was super easy to talk to. Overall good experience and would have NO issue dealing with this company just because of them!

Husband received machine for shoulder exercises and was told he didn't have to worry about the cost for rental of the equipment. They told him that his insurance company covers all cost. Then it 3wks of calls to them to pick it up. They finally picked up the machine. That was in December now March 17th we received a bill stating we owe over 3,000 dollars to them.

Mark Green was so professional and kind to my husband and I. He delivered the unit 2/3/2022. It was before my husband surgery so we could practice using it. I would highly recommend this company and you need Mark Green to be the one bringing it out. Thanks Mark Green for all your kindness and understanding on teaching us how to use the machine.

This rating is soley for their customer service. My husband had shoulder surgery and the machine itself worked fine. They called last fall and I left 3 different messages on 3 different days and not once did I receive a call back. We did not receive a bill so thought things were fine. They called again in January and we paid our bill over the phone January 7.

We are now receiving another call to return their call. Same issue - nobody will return our calls after leaving 4 different messages this time. I even went to their website and completed a "contact us" message. Still nothing. I don't know why they are calling and I refuse to continue to call them and leave messages that I know will just be ignored. I understand business are short staffed, but don't ask for a call back if you are going to ignore us.

Just had a partial knee replacement. The equipment Kinex supplied was perfectly tailored for recovery from my procedure. It has made the first week post-op much more manageable, comfortable and productive. Once ordered, the Kinex team had my equipment ready within a few hours and made it super easy and convenient for us to take possession and learn how to use it.

My daughter had knee surgery. Ice machine was fantastic as it did not require any ice or water! However, the billing is a joke! We had met our entire deductible for the year. The company charged out insurance company/us a total of $3655 to RENT the machine for approximately 7 weeks! We were told that we owed $972.76 because the company coded it to the insurance co as "over the counter". Called the company left a message and 3 weeks later no call back - called them again - they tell me that it was not coded as over the counter. Then they tell me that they discounted the remaining balance to $100. Doesn't make any sense! If you are going to rent their equipment I would be cautious of their billing!

Scummy place that staffs with nasty people specializing in being not helpful or polite. a lousy experience buying overpriced items (elsewhere much cheaper) and you can buy some cheap junk jewelry as you leave. who sells junk jewelry in a medical supply and appliances facilty?

Worst company EVER! The customer service reps are nonchalant and unknowledgeable and the company takes FOREVER to get you your medical equipment. I had surgery over a month ago that requires me to wear a brace that I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED. By the time I get it, I won't need it anymore. I'm going to see if my doctor can go through a more reliable professional company because the wait time is ridiculous.

If I ever need home medical equipment in the future, I will NOT use Kinex. I needed to keep the CPM a while longer because I had not attained my desired ROM from a knee replacement. When I called the technician and relayed this to her, she was not helpful and to me, she seemed a bit sarcastic and condescending.

One of the worst companies I ever had to deal with. I have been using tens units since 2001 over 20 years this company has not sent me my monthly pads and batteries in 3 months and the last time they sent the wrong size pads. They never since I used this company did I ever go a whole year getting my pads and batteries. Out of 12 shipments yearly I probably get 8 to 9 shipments a year. They have the lowest reviews I ever saw.

I recently had hip surgery and when asked by caring friends and family members how my recovery was going, I repeatedly found myself staring at the perplexed look on their faces as I answered "fabulous" with a big smile on my face.and yes, while any type of surgery usually causes oneself to experience a fair amount of anxiety beforehand and inevitably involves some level of pain afterwards, I can truly say that my experience working with Terry and Kinex made my stress level before surgery and my recovery afterwards far better and easier than I ever could have expected.from the time I met Terry, in which he was simply supposed do you have dropped off my continuous passive motion machine, he went above and beyond not only explaining how to use the machine but the reason it would become so vital in helping me recover as I write this post op week 8 with a fabulous hip recovering ahead of schedule

Just received an automated phone call from Kinex telling me to call them back at a different number than the call came from. No opportunity to just take the call at that time. Fortunately I remembered I had received an invoice from them yesterday and it had a contact number on it. What business makes automated calls demanding a call back and rattles off a number so quick you have no chance of writing it down? Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired! Turns out they just wanted to make sure I received the $34.65 invoice. Wow!

The poorest of customer service. Understanding that these times call for being patient, but the service representative was always late or didn't show up. When I contacted the office directly about the lack of courtesy they were very uncaring about the representatives unprofessionalism and lack of common courtesy.

This Kinex Cold Therapy unit I used after total knee replacement was the best part of my rehab. I went into rehab fast and hard, had swelling on my leg and knee joint. After exercising I used the Kinex unit and It worked wonderful. I would use the same unit again.

IMO This is a company that I would NOT recommend. When you first meet with them everything is rainbows, but be warned they are not disclosing everything, Ask them for the price. They will not want to share that information with you, they will tell you that insurance will pay for it, but please heed my warning. They billed me for a chair to use when I had shoulder surgery and the price for the chair was nearly the purchase price of a new chair.

When I asked why the price was so high they stated that this is what the insurance will pay for. Well my insurance did not pony up the huge dollars that they billed and I was stuck for the remainder. Well I worked with their billing department citing my initial pricing conversation prior to surgery (Remember they would not provide and assured me that it would be covered).

I ended up being on the hook by the company for nearly $1500 extra dollars, after the thousands that my insurance company already paid. Then I was told that if I pay 1/2 of the bill they would mark it as being paid in full, or else it would be sent to collections. Well we then paid 1/2 of the bill. Now keep in mind that my insurance has already paid them well fast forward 9 months, mind you no other invoices were sent, no other communication received from the company, I receive a notice from the collection agency.

They turned it over for collections, trying to strong arm me into paying a bill that I NEVER agreed to. Now when I call the company they state that I have to deal with the collection agency and there is nothing that I can do. Be mindful and make them detail what they are billing ahead of time.
