With the passage of the 1963 Community Mental Health Act, federal funding became available for the construction and staffing of mental health centers in cities across the United States. The legislation reflected a new optimism in mental health care and dramatically changed the treatment of people with mental illnesses, placing an emphasis on rehabilitation instead of institutionalization.

Would give them a lower score if I could. Absolutely terrible clinic full of people who couldn't care less if you live or die. If you have mental health concerns do not call them, they will only make it worse.

DO NOT go here. Terrible service, they lie to you, and NEVER return phone calls. It seems like they have taken on way too many patients. They do not care about your mental health. The state paid for this service, and for this I will be completing a Consumer Complaint Form for Lakeview Center, Inc. This will be reported to the State of Florida consumer services as well as BBB. DO NOT GO HERE!

Do not recommend, had a run in with a counselor and the lack of code of conduct for a "therapist" has no place in mental health.

Scheduling is horrible months out. If you need to get in to see your regular psychiatrist soon, good luck. Plus my experience for anxiety the psychiatrist prescribed me something that made me worse, ended up causing my blood pressure to bottom out and heart rate to reduce below normal that I couldn't walk without being out of breath and feeling like I was going to pass out.

After telling them what medication I already take and that this medication that they were prescribing will cause problems with my other medication to lower blood pressure. She completely ignored and wrote it anyways. They still went ahead and prescribed me alternative medication than a regular sedative that hasn't affected me but has helped with my afib and other heart issues when anxiety attacks hit.

When taking with the psychiatrist for my intake, that took 3 months because they had to cancel and extend the time. Then the psychiatrist that scheduled me to see him. Scheduled me the wrong date and time. I recorded the call just to make sure I put it in my calender at the correct time. I show up at the date the psychiatrist scheduled me for and the secretary says that my appointment isn't for another 2 weeks and that the doctor is out of town.

When asked if he would prescribe the medication I've been on for a year now, he said that they don't prescribe narcotics. I'm no doctor but even someone with basic knowledge knows that a sedative isn't a narcotic. I can only imagine how my appointment is going to play out. The psychiatrist said his name was Jason. By the sound of his voice he's definitely a lot younger than me and doesn't know the difference between a sedative and a narcotic.

Even if the medication has never been misused and most of the time I've taken less than prescribed. I only take WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS. I would definitely recommend finding another place to go if you have better insurance to cover it.

Totally disorganized: no one will answer the phones and process requests for treatment records, billing for treatment if you have insurance is incorrect and so takes forever to get approved by your insurance, they move treatment providers around right in the middle of your therapy, and medications were prescribed that actually never should have been. Pretty dangerous mental health provider, I have to say. It's as bad as everyone is saying.

I had an appointment scheduled at 10:30 a.m. I arrived 10 minutes early. I checked in. My child is is there to be evaluated for autism so she is literally running all over the place and I am trying my best to keep her under control. I waited 25 minutes before someone came out to tell me rhe doctor had left the building (like he was Elvis). And asked if I could come back later in the day.

Do they not see my child acting like something out of the scene from Toy Story 3? She gets worse as the day goes on, but sure hey I have nothing better to do. So I agree to come back at agreed time, but hey cane you show up maybe 30 early? Maybe they can see you early? Why Not, because again hey I literally have nothing better to do. I show up for our appointment, and I was able to be seen early, and it was NOT what I was expecting at all! No one told me how this worked! I thought I was going in for testing to see if my little was on the autism spectrum. I wasn't aware not told I was seeing a psychiatrist!

My child got referred here, what a disorganized place. We had to get a paper prescription, and they have lost it once, and messed up the dates twice, and even if you call and talk about it, when you get there they have no idea what you are talking about. My favorite part is if you haven't been seen in 6 months, they close your case, without telling you, or letting you know that.

So you get the start the whole process over! YAY! So if you are looking for people that don't know what they are doing, treat you poorly, and if you like making calls that won't be answered back, EVER. This is the place for you! GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY! May the odds ever be in your favor.

Consistently cancel appointments without notifying you, making it impossible to keep up with med refills. My kids have been onnwithdrawl from their meds several times due to this offices negligence. The drs are insensitive, diagnosed my children without ever seeing them or speaking with them through zoom. The front office is incompetent at best. They make apps then tell you the appt never existed. Find somewhere else for your kids.
