Women's Clinic of Johnson County began as a single OB/Gyn doctor delivering at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in 1992. We grew steadily, adding one physician at a time throughout the 1990's and expanding to include service at Menorah Medical Center when it opened in 1994. In 1998 we began delivering at Olathe Medical Center and had grown to a nine physician practice.
My husband and I really like her. This is my first pregnancy and she has made me feel so comfortable and at ease the whole time. We rarely have to wait and she is very willing to answer all of our questions during each visit. She is very professional, but young and easy to relate too. I would recommend her to any one of my friends or family members.
Women's Clinic of Johnson County is a private medical practice serving the greater Kansas City metro area with offices in Overland Park, Shawnee Mission and Olathe. WCJC is dedicated to women's health providing both obstetric care and gynecological services. The FemTouch is an outpatient, non-surgical, non-hormonal vaginal rejuvenation procedure that uses laser to stimulate new collagen and revitalize vaginal tissue. The rejuvapen uses "microneedling" to evoke a process of inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling of the skin. What does this mean? Your skin will generate new collagen and tissue that is smoother, firmer and more toned.
Many commonly used over-the-counter medications can pass directly through the placenta and could potentially result in harm to your baby. Caution should be exercised when using herbs and/or homeopathic remedies. For example, chamomile may cause uterine contractions. Please also note that many cough and cold medications contain alcohol which should be avoided in pregnancy.

I called to get some information, after 36mins the call was answered and hung up! I called again and was once again at the back of the queue 11th person in place!

Was reccomended to Dr Matthieson as a late term transfer patient. Front desk lost all scheduled appointments and when I tried to speak to the manager it resulted in her hanging up on me. Ridiculous. I was looking forward to meeting Dr matthieson, but am appalled by the lack of consideration from managment.

I continue to be charged for things after I was told by multiple people that I would not be billed. Have contacted numerous people, all who have met me with no sympathy. I've been told I would receive calls back and have yet to receive one. After all of this time trying to speak with people, I JUST received another charge for something at the beginning of year that should've already been processed. Its also awful that every time I call I have to wait 30+ minutes to speak with someone. The focus here is on money and not patient care.

This place is a scam, they do not care about your well being. They force you to wait over an hour and half, just to never see you or to see you in 10 minutes. These people at both locations are rude. Olathe cancelled my appointment, I was over 36 weeks waiting for over a hour and half for my appointment before they realize. They made a mistake and cancelled the wrong patients appointment. Didn't care, didn't try to see me another day.

The entire staff at WCJC is so lovely! I have seen Dr. Healy and Dr. Grounds who are both amazing. Their new Shawnee office is so clean and sleek. The doctors are always so excited to see how babies they delivered are doing and genuinely care about you and your health. I also really want to try their aesthetics treatments because I've heard such great things!

Dr Eckert has been my ob/gyn for 9 years. She's skilled, knowledgeable, and has a warm, caring bedside manner. Love her!

Very slow wait times every visit I have. (30-60 mins in waiting room plus waiting another 30 after you get called back to your room) it wouldn't be as bad waiting if their wifi actually worked. I've been a patient since 2015 and only have stuck around for Dr Holmes sake but now she has left this clinic. I will be looking for a new OB after this visit.

Don't let the word 'clinic' make you think this is some government funded medical facility. This place is nice, organized, and had more than enough staff when we went. Seeked out Dr. Eckert based on various things that we've read; and was thoroughly pleased. She is compassionate and was extremely knowledgeable; any concerns that were brought to her plate - she had an answer.

Her laptop actually died in the appointment, but she didn't need to reference it, as she read the chart beforehand. To know the patient so thoroughly without constantly reading notes, is sometimes unheard-of. Dr. Eckert is 45+ minutes from where we live and definitely worth the drive.

I always wait at least 25 minutes in the waiting room and then more to see the doctor- yes even during the pandemic. Currently sitting with 6 other women in my third trimester- hoping against hope I don't catch covid. The office and exam rooms are outdated, torn up, and dirty. Update- the office has moved and that is beautiful. More crowded still though

This clinic seems not much respect the patients time. Not to mention the phone calls are very difficult to reach out the nurse or never receive feedback. (If you are new patient and going to give a birth, yes, they love you. If you have following up issues and question, sorry they have no time) i tolerated first visiting, waited long time. Second visit, they made me wait 50 mins in the room. Is patients' time not important?

Why the appointment even matter if they just make the patient wait? Well, they claim they have a lot new babies born. Excuse for not being organized? The appointment as I understand is for both patient and doctor. If it is 9:00am, doctor should be available at least 9:10. Are they play doctor priority game? The clinic shouldn't take patients advantages by letting them wait forever. Those clinics need to fix this problem.

Not sure why the ratings are so low other than just the squeaky wheels being most likely to leave reviews. I've been seeing providers at this clinic for the past several years and have had two lovely pregnancies and births with them. Would definitely recommend Dr. Amanda Healy.

The entire staff, nurses and doctors are just fantastic. Their kindess goes way beyond the norm. Had to have some things done differently than the normal, the lady, Christine, at the Olathe Pavallion went out of her way to make phone calls, ask question to find a solution. The atmosphere is friendly, professional and caring. Highly recommend.

I was given a prescription for 5 days. I was not cured on the 5th day and called the office to talk to a nurse. Ileft a message on the machine with my phone number. I received a voice mail that said they wanted me to come in again. The person did not leave her name so when I called for an appointment I had no idea who to ask for. The girl at the counter had no way of knowing either. I have not had a return call-back so I still don't know what to do.

Beautiful place, super friendly staff, awesome doctors & nurse practitioners. I'm hard of hearing, so sometimes I struggle understanding people, especially now with the face coverings. But surprisingly, everyone in WCJC made me feel so at ease, making sure I understand everything. They would take notes, they would pull down the coverings for few seconds so I could read lips & they even put my hand on the baby fetal heart monitor so I could feel my baby's heart beat in case I can't hear it. They made me feel so welcome, seen & respected. I love this place!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mathieson since I moved back to KC in 2016. She is absolutely amazing! I love the nurses, the receptionists are helpful and hilarious! They have some great ultrasound techs too. I only had one issue with a doctor who has since left the practice.

I've been going here for going on 5 years, and it's been nothing short of amazing. My O.B. has seen me through all 3 of my pregnancies, and has seen other women in my family! The ladies at the front desk make you feel welcomed, and even take the time to learn and remember your name and your family. The nurses are superb, and I have never felt as though I or my concerns were irrelevant or not valid. I have recommended this office to numerous people and every time, they have been satisfied with the service received.

On my first visit I did have some difficulty actually figuring out which building housed the facility. That's not an indictment of the Women's Clinic, though, as women's health always takes a backseat. Aside from that, this is a fantastic place. The staff are all friendly, understanding, and accommodating. The facility itself is clean as a whistle, with a large waiting area and very quiet rooms.

I saw one of the nurse practitioners, and she was a dream for somebody with my personal concerns. As someone who is both queer and looking to transition genders, talking about my own sexual health can be difficult - my physician, however, was incredibly sensitive to these concerns. We talked frankly about both my sexuality health and interest in possible transition, and she even went so far as to recommend different surgeons should I be interested in speaking to them / obtaining a referral.

She was already knowledgeable about binding and some of its hazards, but still wanted to talk about my concerns and relative level of insight. We even looked over my binder to fill in some of her knowledge gaps. My wait time was short - even after being lost for a full half hour - and the appointment really felt like just long enough to air my concerns and no longer. I really can't say enough about this Clinic. 10/10 would and will visit again.

While Dr. Maturo does well as an obgyn, the office itself is pretty unorganized. If you are in the mood to get irritated with receptionists than look no further. They rescheduled my appointment earlier this week because they overbooked the day had scheduled me. When I called to confirm the location the women was rude on the phone and I felt like I was a nuisance for asking and not like a patient. (Maybe she was having a bad day but by the looks of these reviews it seems that just how they treat patients) My new appointment was rescheduled at 4pm so I took off work early.

Everyone who came after me has literally been called back but me. It is now 5 pm and I still haven't been called or seen. When I ask when I am going to be seen they just keep asking me to wait or reschedule. Do they not understand that people have jobs and can't reschedule because they can't seem to figure their calendar out? Infuriating. If I didn't already have medical records and procedures set up with Dr. Maturo I would switch offices to avoid this nonsense in the future.

My appointment was for 3pm.it's 4pm now and I'm still waiting to see the doctor. This happens every time I come here. My insurance is so restrictive. If I could go somewhere else I would! The doctors are good but their timeliness is terrible.

I would've given 5 stars for my doctor (Brenda Lofton) but she is no longer there. I called today to ask for any forwarding information for her, which they didn't or wouldn't provide. Fine. I told the person on the other end of the phone that I was interested in finding a new doctor for myself and for my daughter. I briefly shared some information about us so perhaps the person could recommend a new doctor. Instead, I got a disinterested, rushed and brash response about nobody being available until next month. This front desk person made it clear to me that this practice doesn't need or want our business, so we'll gladly take it elsewhere.

I loved my doctor. Dr. Phaedra Lombard. It was the first time I've ever laughed through an exam. The front desk people are horrible. I agree with every review regarding the schedulers. I have had a few miscarriages and the question on the form asks how many pregnancies you've had then to list their birthdays. I was horrified when the lady at the front desk loudly and curtly asked me to complete the form.

I didn't list all of the birthdays. I just stared at her then pointed to section of the form that she failed to read. She was embarrassed and apologetic but still. I think the front desk could stand to take a breath and slow down. I realize that it's a busy office but they are not customer service oriented or even the least bit friendly. It really is pressing issue.

My normal doctor referred me here to get a UDI she could not do. This is my third time here (exam, procedure, follow up). I always arrive 10 minutes early to do paper work. They are always late. The first time I sat in the waiting room for an hour and the exam room for 30 minutes before I saw the doctor. The next 2 visits were close to the same time frame.

I get running late every now and then but it has been every time! I'm excited to not deal with this place for another 3 years. The nurse was the only person who deserves a good review.

I'd give 0 if it allows me, the scheduler or whoever answers the phone is not really nice. You are asking her a question and she feels like you are wasting her time and almost want to tell you, is that all? And hang up on you, I mean please, they can use a nice person and friendly over there not like somebody that is irritated! I'm sure pregnant women have a lot of questions but hey I think you are there to answer those questions and you can be polite when you do that, she didn't even ask if I have any other questions like she was not into her job! Now having second thought on doing my business with this hospital just because of a not so friendly secretary or scheduler!

I moved to KC right after an appendectomy which left me with a reoccurring yeast infection. I got an appointment with Dr Eckert right away and she prescribed me diflucan. The issue came the following month when the yeast infection was still present and no Dr could meet with me. I had to meet with a nurse, Gleena Quist, for a vaginal swab. Somehow we got on the subject of conceiving and I told her that we were trying and my ovulation kit was positive that morning so she suggested that along with looking for yeast under the microscope she would also look for sperm motility.

I agreed, not really thinking much about it. She said there was no yeast, it was all in my head (probably shouldn't tell patients you think they're crazy) and that all of the sperm was immobile. She then proceeded to give me infertility suggestions and referred my husband to their infertility Dr for a semen analysis. The semen analysis came back above avg except for morphology (shape of the sperm), it was at 1%.

During this phone call from a nurse no reference ranges or 'normals' were given. We were devastated. We researched a bit and found normal morphology is 4-14% so it was a comparison against a 100% like we assumed. We truely felt like we were infertile and it was a horrible time for us. A few weeks went by and I found out I was PREGNANT! Yay!

Unfortunately we weren't excited as we would've been since we had been told we were infertile and the pregnancy was hard to accept, odd I know, but it was a very emotional and confusing time. I called the office on the premise of malpractice and I was told Gleena Quist was 'spoken to' and also found out Dr Eckert was supposed to set up an appointment to discuss the semen analysis results, which never happened. The practice administrator didn't take this situation seriously enough and I hope my story will deter women from using this impersonal practice.
